Its cool seeing red 387s near south western stations. Also towards the end of your video you mention electrostars take time to brake, that isnt actually true , they have alot more stopping power than you think. Drivers tend to hold back alot becuase electrostars brakes can go from 40% to 80% to 100% real fast and feel like gravityis forcing you forwards😂. If step 2 is applied you can actually feel a strong brake force. If step 3 is applied the break force ia tremendous. So its likely the drivers are being safer with the brakes for passengers comfort, i for one have been in electrostars where the driver comes in hot and uses dtep 2 and 3 brakes only. It makes the train brakes feel powerful. The brakes have no real in-between, its either weak meaning you brake earlier , or super strong and it feels like your in a bullet about to hit a wall with how strong step 3 brakes are. Thats why they likely brake early to prevent that. Factors like 387 electrostars weighing 174 tons per 4 car vs 465s at 138 tons make the break force of E-star seem much more forceful at higher brake steps combine that with the fact that they have a larger gear ratio ( around120mph) they need to have strong regen brakes. So thats likely why the drivers are so delicate with them.
Also just to let you know, Class 47s Statesman and Class 52 Railtours will be at Eastleigh on the 6th of July (Your videos are near Southampton so i just let you know about that)
Description is wrong 379s arent going to gatwick express there actually going to great northern to replace gn 387s and the gn 387s are going to gatwick express and southern
