Most of the coinage in those machines *won't* have Silver in them. That's pre 1964.

Specially when I always bring beers to my friends place when I come over. Or does nobody bring drinks, or a snack when they go to peoples house where you are. In Toronto, its a custom. Bring beer, or don't come. Lol

Awww the two mice were simply too cute for words! You said pick a name, I would call them Vender Bob and Vender Grace! So happy you decided to locate them out of the building since the mice were the innocent residence of the nursing home. I worked in two nursing homes, and I can say the majority of the people who use the vending drink machines were the staff, the Aids, nurses and the house keeping. It was rare that the residences used the vending machines. Your video was fantastic! Keep them coming!

Checking the cans inside would give you a clue to how long the machine has been abandoned because the product has a "best by" date printed on the bottom.

This is very common. I worked for a company years ago and had a machine. When the company closed I called the Coke bottling company and they told me to just keep the machine.
Have you thought of trying to save a lot of the old furniture in some of these places so that it can be resoled ? Because sometimes a lot of that stuff can be reused

Once I was at a park and there was a decommissioned soft drink machine, but people were still putting money in it. I found a piece of wire and was fishing out quarters from the slot that was over flowing. I got about $2.50 in quarters.
I like to break sh** too sometimes. It’s fun and a good stress reliever.

In the late 90's we used to aquire change by using a steak knife. There's a button above the change return slot that releases the change. We needed beer money. 🍺 🤣

If you do and you don't have the rights to do so you can be charged. So think 🕝 ce before you do. Our store closed due to COVID-19, someone broke into our machine and stole the money, we were able to bring charges one this person

On those old coke machines with a large button for coke and smaller buttons for everything else, if it is still plugged in, you can break the large coke button and you will find 2 small red buttons that if pushed with fingers, the machine spits the coins out all over the floor

One of my friends worked for coke for years. He told me that Coke does not sell machines, they lease them. He use to find the machines at shops down in Miami. He would run the S/N it was missing/stolen. He would tell the shop owner they either turn in the machine or pay the lease. Most of the time, they would just pay the lease. That was back in the late 90s. I don't know what the policy is now. I am sure that machine is on cokes missing vending machine list.

I do reccomend a change counter. the cheapest place to get them is online or at your local lower priced store whichever you have out there.

Did that about 15 yrs ago to a old condom machine left behind in a circle k bathroom we were demolishing and rebuilding and found almost $30 in quarters and lots of condoms still inside

The vending machines around our town have still been for .50 cents they just recently in the last few months gone up to .75 cents and thats for can drinks not bottles!!
