Man Industry is literally the BEST SHOW on TV right now. Writing is absolutely insane. I get so excited for Sundays because of this. Very much like when Succession was airing
I am literally waiting for someone from the Succession cast to do a cameo. We need this to happen. Cousin Greg, Stewey, Lukas, etc..I'll take anyone at this point. We need to reach out to the producers!
@@maester7778 idk cause they already mentioned Kendall (as a TV character) in Season 2 episode 7 when Eric asks Rishi “why he’s dressed like Kendall Roy”
Yeah Harper is all about survival. I don't think she is evil. She is the epitome of the industry they are in. Also Yas, Eric and Rob(who has the best heart out of them all) are robbing people by lying about lumi stock that they know sucks. It's a part of the job. Lumi was going belly up anyway. Harper saved Eric and Yas even tho it was self serving too. Harper was not going to just be a secretary long.
Capitalism is evil. Harper is just smart, and getting smarter-- trying her best to thrive using an evil system. She falls for absolutely none of the disingenuous interest in her gender or race, whether folks over- or under-estimate her. She sees through all that to the numbers. She's also a dom who has just got back on top again. BDSM is not only compatible with capitalism, it is probably a symptom.
the show does not disappoint. when I think Yasmin and Harper may start learning some lessons from their failures, they go right back into the old ways without giving it a second thought. I think Yasmin is gonna have this backfire on her later . she is used to her dad's ways but does not have the money and network to back it up. I will also not be surprised if Harper stabs her new partner in the back yet again. she is a chameleon and will pretend to be whatever people need in the moment, so far they gave us 3 different plays for 3 different seasons, very consistent with her styling and carefully scripted reactions and power grab moves. I despise these people but I do enjoy the attention to detail
I literally cringed and yelled at the screen when Harper got up and the fake Davos and blew up Eric's set, I haven't watched a show that got under skin like in a long time. Harper is a relentless and the girl that plays it must be having a lot of fun with it 😂
The whole point of Rob is that he’s disappointing. He’s that come up white guy that’ll always be mediocre but they keep around bc he’s good looking and can be deployed for various purposes to serve the company and he knows it. They couldn’t send a superstar or an upper crust peer to deal with Henry. Rob is perfect …he can blend in without being a threat. Rob is serving his purpose both archetypally and in action.
@its_the_SENSEI yeah and the fact that after Yas was accused of killing her dad, she didn’t deny it and when her and Harp were talking afterwards Yas was saying how much she missed him, not confirming or denying whether he was alive or not.
I just feel like Roberts character as a whole seems like a filler. A plot device between Harper Yas and Pierpoint. If they was gonna keep someone it should have been Gus, he brought more to the show
Eric is getting fired this season. Adler nodding at him on the floor then Adler also sending the newest person on the board to speak and he bombs it it's almost obvious.
This episide was a wild ride!!! Curious to see how character arcs proceed. It is wild how Yasmin flashbacks unfold. Keep wondering what happened on the boat. Is her dad dead?? Maybe, maybe not. If so , what happened? The shiw pulls me along on mysteries and unanswered questions.
I think it’s too dismissive to call Harper “evil”. She’s complicated and deserves better analysis. Harper is brilliant, talented and nobody’s lackey (which is what Eric wanted). Harper is an underdog and a survivor. She is ambitious in an industry full of “evil” like Pierpoint trying to sell company stock of a company that they know is BS. Harper is obviously not perfect but to call her uniquely evil ignores a lot of bad behavior from others (Eric, the Lumi CEO etc) on this show.
I agree, although I despise her "character", I am aware that there are many people in this industry (and others) that act this way. Let's not pretend they don't. They're brutal.
Harper is uniquely evil. To defend her by saying she’s nobody’s lackey well Venetia is not a lackey. Danny from last season was not a lackey. They are just trying to do their job as best and as honestly as they can. Rishi is greedy and money obsessed but that is why he doesn’t get into personal battles with people that have nothing to do with business. Harper is as concerned with hurting and manipulating and using people as she is with making money.
@@ChiefMacGraw Completely different shows in my opinion. The only thing in common is $ as one of the themes. Succession is claustrophobically INSIDE a family. Industry's characters are all completely OUTSIDE their families, having run away from trauma and abuse.
@@ChiefMacGraw Yes, but the devil's in the details. Succession is Shakespearean because it's about the very height of power-- the decision-makers, the royals, evil daddy. Industry is Dickensian, it's about bottom feeders, graspers, kids, the "parasite's parasites," as Sir Muck puts it.
Great review. I despise Harper, but her character is the epitome of people in the industry who succeed. I hope Yasmin becomes a boss b*tch finally & I also want Rob to finally bring it. When is Rishi going to get some airtime? I need a full meltdown. Also, you're right about the being married dynamic, especially if your partner is also extremely ambitious.
@@jayelle7607 -really? I can't wait!! This show is so messy and I love it. Rishi also is so misogynistic..remember how he always talked about his rich fiance in such a demeaning way? This season is great so far.

Well, we can all dream or someone from Billions would be good too. Like Ben or MaFee or Louis.

The only one i know reviewing Industry, which is CRAZY! Catch this follow, man
This show's about to blow up, big time. Won't be a secret for much longer.
Eric arc is super interesting this season. Looking forward to seeing what he is going to do when his back is pushed against the wall.
He'll completely implode

Jaw dropped with the pool scene 😮. I agree it was the best episode so far!

Subscribed! Ive been needing someone to review this show!
Thanks 🙏🏽, I appreciate it
Yas gonna go down for her fathers disappearance and Harp gonna go down for Insider Trading ..my predictions
I can see that happening

Marriage gave him the upper hand.
Chile when you ain’t got it, you ain’t got it. Eric wife had it & took it back when they split😂😂😂

Yeah I think she has
I think Yasmin’s father fell into the ocean and she did nothing to save him and let him drown.

This! I hate when people call her evil she’s just calculated and she’s a gambler
I do think she has evil ways. I gave her props before but thats how I feel about the character now. I reviewed season 1 and 2 also.

Industry is turning more and more into Succession
Disagree.
It is really good and getting there. Succession was all time to me
