I feel like more care went into the writing (I think Harry actually did much more writing himself) and the songs feel like they have much more emotion and go beyond creating a vibe. Two Ghosts, Ever Since New York, and Sign of the Times are a couple favorites that might be worth your time if you don’t get around to the whole thing.

This is interesting considering he said that he felt more like himself writing fine line than he did writing the debut. He said that, in hindsight, he could hear himself holding back and trying a little too hard not to screw it up and with fine line he felt more free to experiment and find his sound. And u can hear that in the production, he went much more experimental with the production of fine line cuz the debut album had very little production. Cuz a lot of people criticized him and said he just ripped off a lot of soft rock/classic rock sounds from like the 70s and 80s so with fine line it sounds like, to me, that he was able to find more of his own original sound and less just kind of mimicking the music he grew up listening to. and also he definitely wrote equally as much on fine line as he did his debut album so idk what ur getting at there. but ya just thought id add that cuz fine line in no way was less crafted than his debut album.

Yeah idk about this one Brad, feels like you went into songs like Fine Line etc with a preconceived bias against the song before even listening to it. I obviously can't say if that is the case or not but thats the vibe I got at least. It didn't seem like you were actually open to enjoying it; immediately making fun of lyrics etc that aren't even bad without giving much thought or giving the song a real chance. You clearly just wanted to finish the album at that point, and it's completely fair to want that, but it isn't fair to the song itself. I think Fine Line is a beautiful song and is up there at a 9-10. The instrumental is absolutely gorgeous and Harry's voice works exceptionally well with it. The album as a whole isn't amazing, but Fine Line (the song) is. idk I think you wouldve thought very differently of the song had you went into it without being bored from the rest of the album.

Have to say I kind of feel like you came into this album with a bunch of preconceived notions about Harry Styles and that really cast a shadow over your perception of everything. Of course it's not going to be everyone's vibe but like I just don't feel like you gave it a fair shot, maybe you were in a bad mood or something. I hope I don't sound hateful or angry or something cause that's not how I feel while writing this comment I get the feeling that you believe Harry Styles to be basic, unintelligent and shallow so when he writes a lyric that's not exactly straightforward you conclude that it's cause he doesn't really have anything to say or isn't smart enough to come up with anything with meaning. I feel like in the future when you're dealing with artists you're not really fond of or don't think much of you should maybe do a little research into them or into what they were going for with the album. like for instance you would have known that Harry was very involved and the main driving force for this album. he wrote all the songs and was involved in every part of the album including playing some of the instruments you like so much. I'm not saying Harry's a genius or something he's not even in my top ten artists but a lot of artists who I do really like have a similar vague songwriting style that you don't seem to like so I had to be that incredibly annoying person and go "yOu jUSt doNT gEt iT dUdE" Anyway you're a really cool dude and you seem really chill if a little too dismissive. Looking forward to more reactions. Edit: Agree It can be super repetitive
Ive been loving the nearly daily videos for the last week. Keep the videos coming whenever they come they really highlight my day and make me laugh. Thank You.
it’s pretty easy to talk shit about the lyrics when you are literally talking over the entire song. all i’m hearing is “i don’t like having to actually think about the lyrics i just want everything to be spelled out for me” you don’t have to like every song but this reaction just felt very disrespectful.
I 100% agree with you that the writing is the weakest part of this album by far. If you're interested I'd highly reccomend Luke Hemmings' solo album "When Facing the Things We Turn Away From". It has some similar vibes (but way more experimentation) and the writing blows fine line out of the water imo
You should definitely do a reaction to The Cure's disintegration an incredible album that shows The Cure at their darkest point and overall it's a must listen album

'Watermelon Sugar' isn't about the joys of summer, it's not about eating watermelon. Watch the music video, you'll get it then. He won his first Grammy for that song.
I think every slow songs is boring to Brad 😂😂. It's very hard to be a music critic if you really have a specific genre that you only listen to. Well, I guess he really do have a BrAD Taste in Music.
I would really be interested to see your opinion on a 5 seconds of summer album. Youngblood and CALM are their newer albums and I feel like you might enjoy it
I would try going back and seeing how the Jonas Brothers aged, specifically their 2008 album i forgot the name but ik it was there best. Interested on your thoughts @brad
I don't feel like you're trying to understand the lyrics. Lights up is not hard to comprehend at all. It's about his rise to superstardom and how he's not coming back from this life and he's stepping into the light (the spotlight). With albums you're enjoying, like after laughter or, you tend to be way more willing to dive into the meaning behind the songs. It always makes the video more enjoyable when you do that, and I kind of wanted that here. I'm glad you like After Laughter though.
The lyrics just aren’t that good tho. It doesn’t matter what Harry styles or whoever claims each song is about, if the writing isn’t saying it in an effective or interesting way then that’s the issue.
@@Gino565 I found the lyrics to be really good actually, they're intentionally abstract but they actually make perfect sense if you don't just assume he's rambling stupidly. I actually don't like songs with super straightforward lyrics which is why falling is my weakest from this album. I just think it's a matter of taste
Brad didn't make the claim that the lyrics in Lights Up were boring, but that if said without context would make no sense. I disagree. The meaning isn't super straightforward, but it's not hard to discern. Im not claiming that the song is good or that the lyrics are good. Im saying the effort to understand them isn't there. Bradley has this problem with a lot of albums, and while I really like him, that aspect does detract from the video.
I prefer his first project honestly. Personally I think the best one direction solo project is Heartbreak Weather. Lyrically, instrumentally, it’s all around solid and just a damn good time.
i dont mind some of the tracks but i always feel extremely depressed during the summer so supa happy tunes about summer always really feel insulting to me. Though i get that im not the majority or the target audience so
Haha I like this album but this was so funny to watch even if you weren't being totally fair to it sometimes. I'm actually realising I never really paid much attention to the lyrics and maybe that's why I've been enjoying it as much as I have. As you said the vibes are immaculate
You were def extra critical of him before you even started listening, which is fine but this is not a fair review/reaction tbh haha. Like there is a reason this album is so successful and that he is more of an album artist rather than a single kinda artist, cause people appreciate his albums. To me this is a great album and I personally really like the writing. Either way I’m happy you are reacting to more pop kinda music haha.
He was critical because it became apparent early on that Harry styles isn’t a skilled songwriter, and for the most part was being carried by the production. As an artist Harry styles doesn’t exactly do anything daring or new, because he’s a pop singer. His music is successful for that very reason, it’s safe and not Particularly adventurous.
PLEASE REACT TO TAYLOR SWIFT (Folklore and Evermore in particular, her best works to date) AND LORDE (Pure Heroine and Melodrama are IMPECCABLE, Solar Power is fantastic too, but I have a sneaking suspicion you won't be in love with it), THEY ARE BOTH SUCH INCREDIBLE ARTISTS WITH FANTASTIC INSTRUMENTALS *AND* LYRICISM!!!!!!!!!!

I hope I don't sound hateful or angry or something cause that's not how I feel while writing this comment
I get the feeling that you believe Harry Styles to be basic, unintelligent and shallow so when he writes a lyric that's not exactly straightforward you conclude that it's cause he doesn't really have anything to say or isn't smart enough to come up with anything with meaning.
I'm not saying Harry's a genius or something he's not even in my top ten artists but a lot of artists who I do really like have a similar vague songwriting style that you don't seem to like so I had to be that incredibly annoying person and go "yOu jUSt doNT gEt iT dUdE"
Anyway you're a really cool dude and you seem really chill if a little too dismissive. Looking forward to more reactions.
Edit: Agree It can be super repetitive

treat people with kindness is so underrated
for good reason
may i suggest his first album
Damn, if he thinks fine line is boring, imagine what he’ll think of ST
Ive been loving the nearly daily videos for the last week. Keep the videos coming whenever they come they really highlight my day and make me laugh. Thank You.
You’re not overworking yourself right, you’re pumping out these videos really quickly.
it’s pretty easy to talk shit about the lyrics when you are literally talking over the entire song. all i’m hearing is “i don’t like having to actually think about the lyrics i just want everything to be spelled out for me” you don’t have to like every song but this reaction just felt very disrespectful.
I 100% agree with you that the writing is the weakest part of this album by far. If you're interested I'd highly reccomend Luke Hemmings' solo album "When Facing the Things We Turn Away From". It has some similar vibes (but way more experimentation) and the writing blows fine line out of the water imo
I'm loving these consistent uploads of mainstream pop rn. Keep it up brad, ive always wanted to know ur opinions on these albums. 💖😁
You should definitely do a reaction to The Cure's disintegration an incredible album that shows The Cure at their darkest point and overall it's a must listen album
Just watched the whole thing prior to the re-upload. Hilarious reaction! Can't wait for the stream!
I totally respect your opinion...but you're giving a vibe of 'A hater forcing himself to react to harry styles album' But all in all, thanks for your opinion whether it's negative or positive it benefits our Global Icon Mr HARRY STYLES 🤗🤗 "can't wait to see you react to harry stuff more"...😁😁
Watermelon sugar about eating 🐱
Dang you keep pumping these out!keep it up
I always love brads videos even when he hates my fav artists. I love harry so much but I was dying with laughter at treat people with kindness. I appreciate that he's always honest and doesn't pretend tl like stuff for views
loving the videos :)
Literally just came here to see your reaction to she and you didn’t like it 😭😭😭😭 but i feel like you should react to his self titled album is soooo much better than this
Nevermind it grew on you lol
ohhhh wow cant believe im watching this video at the same day you uploaded it
'Watermelon Sugar' isn't about the joys of summer, it's not about eating watermelon. Watch the music video, you'll get it then. He won his first Grammy for that song.
listen to more pop albums! recommendations: chromatica, sawayama, rina ep, plastic hearts, artpop
I think you should listen to Harry Styles’s self titled album
I think every slow songs is boring to Brad 😂😂. It's very hard to be a music critic if you really have a specific genre that you only listen to. Well, I guess he really do have a BrAD Taste in Music.
even tho i LOVE Harry i love this reaction so much lol i love ur honesty
Well that was… honest. Lol
Would you consider checking out 5SOS album- Youngblood?
I love when people dont understand the meaning of Watermelon sugar hahahahahahaha
is it weird that getting insight on the worst parts of records which had creative potential makes me learn and grow as a songwriter and producer?
Im begging you to check his debut album when he was more creatively involved
I think you should listen to the debut album
I would really be interested to see your opinion on a 5 seconds of summer album. Youngblood and CALM are their newer albums and I feel like you might enjoy it
I think he would be into Youngblood
@@kwise09 I think so too, it’s great. I also think that he could be into CALM production wise
the more British the song is, the less brad likes it hahahhaha
watch this be another tøp moment for brad and in 4 years he's going to harry styles concerts
His first record is genuinely fucking great, Id really check it out.
Have you listened to the Big Thief album from this year Brad? Would love a reaction or just thoughts on it
“i loved it! it’s a shrug”
true fantanoism at play
@@droxer673 I very much agree
Adore You has no right to go that fucking hard
Another good video brad
I prefer his first project honestly. Personally I think the best one direction solo project is Heartbreak Weather. Lyrically, instrumentally, it’s all around solid and just a damn good time.
Why did u make it private before 😭😭
yeah i definitely prefered tracks like 'sign of the times' from his self titled album
i recommend you catfish and the bottlemen. last album is really good and i think you might like it, maybe
Have you heard Harry's "Sign of the Times"?
i dont mind some of the tracks but i always feel extremely depressed during the summer so supa happy tunes about summer always really feel insulting to me.
Best reaction channel on yt
This album is in rollingstone's top 500 albums of all time😐
We love bradley
Hell yeah it’s up
Last minute album you should listen is Montero
I did like this album when it came out in 2019 but i just realized the lyrics don't make sense asjkdhasjkdafsdfjk
your TPWK ranking physically hurt me 😭😭
Hey Brad nice video, do you ever think of reviewing old classic albums?
LISTEN TO HIS FIRST ALBUM!!!!!
His Debut is definitely better but this is still a solid album
Agree, idk why all the fans are suddenly turning on fine line in the comments just cuz this guy hates it
@@tom_j. people can be really wishy washy with their opinions
Brad can you listen to Long Season, it is imo peak music
Ayooooo Brad has a new review! Sup man!
Dude what?
Of course the internet decided to fuck off to far away shores when I was going to watch this.
have you listen to folklore by taylor swift??
I think you’d like Melodrama by Lorde, which is far better than Solar Power. You should react to it.
