      Can you give me your feedback how is the TV for watching low quality cable like old shows the reason I'm concerned I'm coming from a 940e Sony it's high quality processor for low quality content like old movies is the picture still good in these new reviews they always show 4K content but when you actually purchase the TV you're watching crap 7:20 cable.

    I’ve had the Sony 98 for three weeks
    Bravia core comes Damm close to blu ray.. at 80 or more gbps
    Blooming is very minimal. If you blink you won’t see it,
    You tube tv picture is very impressive, after watching direct tv for 20 years , streaming is the way to go.
    If you’re going to hang it, use the human centric articulating wall mount. Mines floating 19 inches away from the wall.slight tilt. Looks very impressive.

    Great video, but at this size, I'd be more inclinded to purchase the Sony X90L 98". The price, at least here in Mexico, is dropping every month, currently around $6000 USD (including tax) at a couple of stores. By black friday, it will be even lower. My gut tells me that if you are getting such a big screen, upscaling and motion is even more important and Sonys upscaling and motion is second best to none. I'm afraid with the 80C that the upscaling on such a big size won't be good, at least according to the ratings of the smaller size at Rtings. Also, Id be worried about its blooming and contrast ratio, which is worse than the X90L. For gaming though, the Samsung will probably be better.

      Now that would be impressive! Samsung usually doesn't disclose dimming zones for their TVs these days. Partly because it's different per panel size, even with the same model, partly because they don't want us to compare!

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@manuelpaz6716 That's true, the larger the panel, the more dimming zones. With Mini LED technology, there will be more dimming zones than the same sized panel using full array backlighting. In general, Mini-LED provides more precise control of the backlight in order to produce 'truer' blacks and less artifacts like halos and blooming around bright objects moving on a black background.

      Thanks for checking out the vid and I hope you like the Q89C more than the TCL! What was it about the TCL that you didn't like? In terms of calibration, we ran the TV out of the box, without any specific calibration, however, you can use the Samsung SmartThings app on your phone now, which uses your camera, to calibrate the screen so definitely give this a try when you get your massive Q80C! Sir what about power consumption? Are we looking at 500w+ on standard mode?

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The panel is rated for a max consumption of 430W, so that's when the panel is at peak brightness, so it won't draw any more power than that at any given time. It's rated for 289W typical consumption, so that's an average of peak and non-peak brightness and probably more reflective of what it will draw during a typical viewing session. Overall Samsung says, based on typical use, it would consume 1050kWh in a year. (For comparison, an 85in Samsung QN90C uses about 685kWh per year). Depending on what you're charged by your electricity supplier, you can calculate the cost per year to run it. I mention power consumption at about 13:40 in the video if you want to check it out. P.S. Hope the Cybertruck gets released soon!

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a little tricky with the stats sometimes, 200Hz doesn't normally mean that it will do 120Hz frame rate, as it would also need to have HDMI 2.1 to get enough bandwidth from your gaming console or PC to the screen.

    How about Sony X90L / TCL QM8 98” TVs ? Would you recommend instead?

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. The TCL C745 98in (only one in my market) is a solid TV with a very sharp price - and for thousands less than the Samsung. The key difference is that while both have QLED panels, the Samsung has a full array backlight, meaning better black control and colour volume, versus the TCL, which has a more conventional backlight. I believe the Samsung panel has a higher peak brightness as well. The speakers look to be better on the Samsung, however, they both support Dolby Atmos. Samsung's interface has a few more bells and whistles too, but the TCL's Google TV interface is decent, but with fewer streaming app options. The Sony X90L, on the other hand, is priced the same as the Samsung and much more comparable in terms of picture quality as it too has a full array backlight with local dimming. Essentially, the Sony and Samsung have a higher quality panel and deliver better picture quality, but the TCL does give you a lot of bang for your buck if you're not all that fussed about truer black and darker colour reproduction and more realistic highlights due to their brighter panels.

    • @thcyprus
      @thcyprus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gadgetguytech According to TCL the C745 98in also has Full Array. The new TCL (QM8) which has a 98" option is Mini LED, but it is more expensive. Also, in the video you said that OLED TVs do not came in this size, but they do, they are just much more expensive (25000 USD)

      I can only give you my opinion but it was absolutely fine at 3 meters away, which is where the couch was positioned in our shoot. I came into making this video with the assumption that 98in would seem 'too big' and unmanageable/unnecessary. However, it's surprisingly liveable and adds to the experience, so, while not truly "necessary", it sure is nice to have, and I doubt very much that you'll regret it. WMN8000SXT from samsung. do you recommend me this one or should I get another one. because I want that the gap between the wall and the tv to be minimal. in the instructions of this mount it says if its going to be installed on a normal type tv or a slim type tv. this one is considered a Slim type right? the 98" Q80C

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm told that the Large Size Bracket Wall Mount should work fine and is compatible with the Q80C 98". Any bracket should work as long as the VESA pattern dimensions are 400 x 600, and it can manage about 60Kg, that's all you really need. The Q80C is about 4cm thick so it won't be completely flat against the wall, but should look fine. I would say that the TV is a 'slim type' but the bracket should work regardless.

    The full array vs the mini leds, zero difference really.

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say zero difference - Full Array doesn't have the same degree of control or precision of light as mini-LED. In Samsung's case, the actual "Mini" LEDs are 1/40th the size of the 'standard' LEDs in in its Full Array backlight, so there are much more of them, and there are more control zones. This means that the backlight can be shaped behind objects in the image better, so that means less blooming and halos around object that are lit up on black backgrounds. I wouldn't say it's hugely obvious but once you see the difference, it's hard not to notice. Still, Full Array is pretty decent as it stands, but Mini-LED is better.

I know that NEO QLED is a newer technology than the QLED, but I don't know if I should go for bigger size and less quality or smaller size and latest technology and quality. hope to get a response from you. thank you very much. as well how good are the Q-series Soundbar HW-Q930C and the Q990C?

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh boy, that's a good question! I think that for me, the QN90C, while an excellent TV with a fantastic mini-LED picture wouldn't win over the sheer size of the Q80C. The Q80C's Full Matrix backlight still does a good job of adding contrast and controlling light. I doubt that you'll regret the 98in screen size, provided that you have the space for it. The things that might matter for choosing the QN90C, depending on your needs, are that, apart from a more nuanced picture, it has a better anti-reflective coating, and a better internal speaker system. The AR coating might matter if the TV is placed in direct sunlight, as the Q80C doesn't really have anything special here, and the QN90C supports 'true' Dolby Atomos including 2 up-firing speakers on the top of the panel and 4 other speakers to a total of 60 watts vs the 40 watts and no up firing speakers of the Q80C. However, as you'll be adding a soundbar anyway, it probably doesn't matter too much. In terms of soundbar, I've only tried the Q990C, and this has 11.1.4 channels and I like it as much as my Sonos Arc, which says something. Looking at the HW-Q930C specs, it still has 9.1.4 channels, and supports both DTX and Atmos, so not a lot of difference here other than the extra channels. It looks similar and I'm sure it will perform well. There is a pretty substantial difference between the two package prices, but the S23 Ultra is a very, very good phone should you need one, so perhaps that should be your defining factor. Both are great choices!

      @@gadgetguytech Hello Valens, than you so much for your fast response, just to tell you a bit about where is going to be placed. It’s indoors and even tho there are big windows we have roller shades so direct sunlight wont be a problem. As well the Samsung galaxy s23 ultra I am planning on selling it because I don’t actually need it and I can get back some money from that purchase. So the final verdict will be the 98” inch Q80C. I was a little bit scared because as you know there is still a big difference in price and even tho they both are 2023 models I was not sure which model should I get because of the technologies differences. I saw this Samsung 98-inch QLED at one of our retail stores here in Cape Town, South Africa. At first glance the size is overwhelming, but as I got closer to the TV, I immediately noticed that it does not look quite as sharp and vibrant as a QLED would normally look like in a 55-inch to 75-inch TV. I think 4K starts to look washed out when you surpass the 86-inch barrier. Sure enough, to an average user, they would be blown away by its sheer size. I think this is not worthwhile getting based on its price point. Size aside, there's nothing else that justifies the huge price tag. There are wayyy better options available for cheaper.

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      It's true that the pixels on this very large panel will be larger than 55 and 75in screens, and I was worried about that too, however, when watching it, this really wasn't noticeable as I was not sitting super close to the screen. In terms of a 'washed out' look, I can't say that I noticed this, as the QLED panel produces good colour volumes (intensity), even at bright levels. But, given its price, you could go for Samsung's excellent 77in QD-OLED (S95B) or 85in 8K Mini-LED TV (QN900C) instead, and these have better quality pictures, just not the size.

    • @ollym990
      @ollym990 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Price is definitely too high, but at the right seating distance you're not going to discern the pixels. You would be able to get closer to a 75" without seeing them, but that stands to reason. For a TV of this size, you'd want to be sitting about 2.4m away probably. As for the washed out look, that's most likely down to the settings and/or the content being played. Having seen one of these myself, there was no evidence of that whatsoever in my experience.

    I guess you haven't heard of the LG 97 inch oled, you really need to be better informed.

    ALL Samsung monitors and TV's I had, died. Power supply failure inside the device. All of them. Not a Samsung fan.

      Wow that’s really bad luck! I haven’t heard of so many consistent failures for a brand. Is it possible that your power where you plug your products in is causing a problem? For example a lot of power spikes that could damage the power supply?

    98 inch is NOT NORMAL

    • @gadgetguytech
      @gadgetguytech  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, true, not yet! Although the TV companies would like you to think so. Each year the new 'standard' for a basic TV size goes up. Now it's 75in, a few years ago it was 55in, etc...

      @@gadgetguytech it still is 55 inch, i dont see the average joe or day to day viewers buy a 98 inch tv with no knowledgeof 4k 8k hdr 122hz hdmi 2.1 :) i my self have a 65 inch mini led i like it, but im looking to upgrade in comming years and 85/98 inch seems insane cool but yeah the motion has to be flawless are we there yet?

      Hello my friend I'm thinking on buying this model too. It was worth it? Did you like the picture quality? It.was worth it?

    • @09Hemendra
      @09Hemendra 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jorgmark : This is of great quality and size is perfect for our large living area. Quality depends on the content resolution as well for e.g. watching Netflix if great having 4K resolution. OLED is still good but that will cost just too much..

    I wouldn't buy no one's QLED or Mini QLED except TCL QM8 or Q7.
    They are the ones who invented Q technology, and the pictures look 100% better.
    Better black levels and crisp bright colors.
    Not dull like Samsungs QLED.

      Pretty sure that Samsung first put Quantum Dot (QLED) technology into its TVs. Others, such as TCL, LG and Hisense use derivatives of QLED.
