Lydia Winters is not a bad Person in my opinion, she’s a nicer person compared to Notch who said very mean things about his own Creation which is why he was not permitted to participate in the game’s 10th anniversary & onwards.
The whole thing with Minecraft not wanting to incentivize killing stuff is absolutely stupid and hypocritical of them. Deforestation is basically encouraged. They want you to cut trees down. They want you to harvest the woods. They are worried about giving kids the impression that OK to kill stuff, but they’re OK with incentivizing the destruction of forest and natural habitats? going on about wanting to be kid friendly is a slippery slope and something that doesn’t need to be catered to in Minecraft. As long as there’s not blood and graphic violence it’s fine. I mean, like how many animals and creatures in the game can you already kill and be rewarded for killing them Minecraft can’t just change the way The game is, so the idea of creating creatures in the future that you aren’t rewarded for killing is pointless and bad game design.
I think the difference there is that killing a animal is quicker then deforesting a entire forest. especially since we're talking about kids and its easier to teach why killing is wrong then how much deforestation caused to the world
What people don't realize; if Java edition gets cancelled for official development... then that "Final java version" would become a literal modding haven. Mod developers would without a doubt be implementing the new features from "bedrock" added after the "final java version" and also allowing mod developers to thrive with new capabilities (One that comes to mind is the in-dev port of the Cubic Chunks mod for versions 1.21+) So overall Java edition being cancelled despite if it was to happen would only make for Modders to have a true frenzy that can be the best ever modding experience since Minecraft Java Edition 1.12.2
Still would suck because you would have to download mods to experience new content Although I doubt they would stop updating any time soon, considering most big youtubers play Java and the modding community is very large. This edition basically servers as advertisement for the franchise as a whole.
@@Josue_S_6411 But then at the same time; mod devs can even integrate concent Mojang didn't do with these mods enhancing the experience of what Mojang done officially. It's a trade off; you want the latest updates without mods then switch to Bedrock; if not then deal with installing mods (which is extremely simple these days) and create your own experience with mods that either add the content being added following that final java version or use mods that enhance the new content while adding it; or even whatever mods you want such as Create etc. etc. for example.
I doubt that Java will be cancelled for the ENTIRE Stockholm team only focuses on Java Edition, the Redmond team is Bedrock Edition. If Java gets cancelled then the entire Stockholm team would no longer be incharge of any Minecraft updates meanign they would lose complete control of their creative direction to a team in a completely different country. Unless the Original Mojang Stockholm team decides to focus on Spin-off or focus on other games in their library... oh wait they've dropped all their spin-offs to focus on Core Java, and their library contains only 4 non-Minecraft games they've not touched in years. Java is also the Original langauge of Minecraft, they will not let it die.
Like it or not, the majority of Minecraft TH-cam, streaming, and speed running content is Java. If they discontinue Java, most of that free advertising will gradually disappear. TH-camrs and streamers will stay on whatever version of Java they prefer, and a ton of them will not switch. I run Linux, exclusively. I CAN NOT switch to Bedrock, even if I wanted to, which I also don't, for many other reasons: the combat is lame, lag deaths, portal deaths, the redstone blows, lack of good modding, microtransactions. Oh yeah, I _WRITE_ Java mods - should have mentioned that first. xD I just don't understand why they didn't use Java on all platforms - The JVM is literally DESIGNED to run anywhere. I run Java Minecraft on my android phone, occasionally, it can be done.
If Mojang were to bring Bedrock to Linux, perhaps I’d give it another chance. By locking it to Windows alone, I have virtually no interest in it. While I love Java, I wouldn’t mind having the other version on my native OS, just to tinker with it.
If I could play on Java I would 100%, just spent 3h on bugrock hardcore just to get stuck in an animation and die and lose everything, 15yo game is having animation bugs lol
The combat of Minecraft Bedrock is much better than Java's. And when Minecraft Bedrock was Minecraft Pocket Edition/W10 Edition, the game was much better and had less bugs.
Remember; Modding is one of the, if not THE reason Minecraft is still afloat, atleast on the PC/Content side. If it were to stop updating, Java would become a modding heaven.
bedrock would never be “left to rot”. youtube make you forget that WAY more people play bedrock than java. from our latest estimates, it’s likely at LEAST triple the amount of players on bedrock than java.
i think java is a much better candidate for being a game engine, since it already has a huge modding scene, possibly the biggest modding community of any game ever.
A game of constant change and additions like minecraft can appeal to a wide range by simple swapping who they appeal to. Because the features older players like are still there and younger players have the not violent gane
@@frag4007 yeah, that's the only complaint people have. The new creatures have one isolated feature and that's it. Instead of building on existing features - the entire reason minecraft updates are desired. LOL.
To everyone that is scared here, java will not be cancelled. Java still gets constant updates and snapshots even before bedrock. It is the main version where minecraft was born, most content creators play java. If they do cancel it minecraft is done. Reduced to atoms canceling java is officially killing minecraft as a whole. Its an extreamly stupid move i cant even tell you how stupid that is. IF they end up doing that honestly they commiting suicide at that point.
As @Zonix_Official said, even IF they end up cancelling Java, the last update will be a modding haven where modders will end up adding all the new stuff to the game. Their only solution to that would be removing Java from the launcher entirely.
Considering Bedrock is significantly more profitable and a massive portion of paying customers are children who wouldn’t boycott a game because one version was deleted, I really doubt Minecraft would be over if they got rid of Java. It would be really unfortunate and would get bad press localised to the online fandom, but it would be pretty easy to recover from.
Minecraft wouldn't be over really. People would be mad, but they would just move to bedrock. It would actually be better, instead of having to work on two different versions, focusing on one would mean more resource for it.
@@finndemoncat9379 that may be the reason why the updates are slow or gettin delayed sometimes..? And I also hate other people calling Mojang lazy just because of it. i agree with your conclusion right there.. for Mojang just to focus to only One version
Okay I can understand Java players concerns but also it's kind of hilarious cuz why would Mojang get rid of the original version of Minecraft before it was eventually called Java edition
It wouldn't be Mojang, it would be microsoft. I will still never get over the fact the took the actual game, and said "nope, that's some side thing" and took the CONSOLE PORT and went "Yep, that's the OG, that's the one we care about."
A lot of Java Edition's code comes from one guy's passion project 15 years ago and didn't even get a coherent vision behind it until late Infdev, about a year after development started. As a result, it has issues with badly cobbled-together code, poor optimisation, and a lack of multithreading support. It also has no official modding support, unless you count data packs, which become more capable very slowly because of how much work it is to rework a game's code to be customisable. Bedrock has similar issues, but Java Edition existed which gave it something to learn lessons from and a coherent vision from the beginning, it was developed with optimisation as a priority so it could run on lower-end devices like phones, and behavior packs are a bit more capable than data packs in some places. What Mojang should really do is create a new codebase with optimisation, mod support, and future proofing in mind and then stop development on Bedrock and Java once it's roughly reached parity
Because it's simply less profitable. It's a one time purchase (with the exception of realms, which as far as i know barely anyone uses). Bedrock has microtransactions and houses 60% of the playerbase because of it's accessibility.
@@tristanshaltz2769 Not the console port, a (Windows 10 exclusive) computer port of a mix of the Raspberry Pi and the mobile versions, sprinkled with a bit of Legacy Console stuff (Pocket Edition had been working on moving the packs from console for a while so I'm not counting those.) that was jammed onto all the consoles to replace the console versions and was made the new Minecraft. And the newer one was still thought of as Pocket Edition, in my experience. Also, you got Windows 10 Edition free with Java on PC or free with enough hours on the previous version on Xbox One, so...
I can confidently say that if Java ever stops getting updates that Bedrock continues to get, I will have interest in them and play around with them a bit when they release, but then go back to Java. I am primarily a fan of Minecraft Java specifically, Bedrock just does not feel the same to me.
I didn’t know they changed so much management, but curious to see Minecraft’s future🧐 and the title drew me in more than the thumbnail, I just thought they were renaming Java😅 so the comments are acting a bit crazy to me😵💫
I would like to point out that it is the law in Japan for companies to take all reasonable actions to reduce costs before they are aloud to lay off employees. So the former President of Nintendo announcing he was taking a pay cut was literally a PR stunt as he was required by law to do it before they could potentially lay off any employees.
@@quilavadoidao545 No it isn't? They'd lose 90% of all their content creators and lose 40% of their players. Most Minecraft lives are also filmed on java. It'd be an extremely odd decision
@@aimbotxd7992 Yes, it is very likely. Java does not have a marketplace or any other way to monetize the game besides the original purchase. It only runs on computer operating systems and is coded in an outdated programming language (Java/JVM). Additionally, having two different versions of the game divides the Mojang team, leading to longer wait times for updates.
I'm really sorry to say this, but I think Microsoft loves their microtransactions too much. They will keep bedrock alive for as long as possible, whereas I feel like they would kill Java if they felt like they HAD to... Really not happy about it either, Java is just objectively better
@@Turncarpet that doesnt mean the game will be alive, for a game to be alive you need people not just money, bedrock literally can die if people leave like minecraft dungeons and legends
Maybe they'll get their act together now and develop more relevant stuff, such as an inventory sorting system, redo the End, add another dimension, add unique items to rare chests and not... a piece of wheat or a stick... etc.
I was just discussing with a buddy last-night how the new Creaking and it's biome is a HUGE missed opportunity for the Deep Dark portal. Imagine how awesome it would be if they made the portal work and it took of to the weeping biome. Filled with elements of the deep dark and the new creaking. Shoot. Toss in elements of The End as well. Weeping Shulkers. Weeping/creaking dragons, etc. Just place it in a overworld like sky box that is always gray. At night it could give a blindness effect as well. Sleeping in the realm this time, but only during the day!
@@sespider can i ask which of these is your perspective? "it's a missed opportunity mojang didn't immediately backpedal on announcing that they'd be switching to smaller updates by giving us an entire new dimension" or "it's a missed opportunity mojang didn't give us the pre-1.16 nether but now it's creakings instead of pigmen and white forests instead of red caves"? or would you rather this creaking dimension be filled with retextured mobs from the end (what would a "weeping shulker" even do? stay closed when you look at it? that would be really boring methinks. i personally think a dimension of reused assets would be pretty boring and wouldn't really offer that much compared to what we're getting. the only other position i can think of is that you'd prefer that the creaking be put on the back burner so they could make this large update in the background (or that you don't like the new update schedule at all), but again, i don't really see a point? i don't think the white forest offers enough fresh ideas to carry an entire dimension, and reusing ideas from the end comes off as lazy and uninspired. mojang already gets enough people calling them lazy, they don't need to add onto that by reusing assets. while i do wish the biome were larger (it's difficult for it to pull off its intended atmosphere when the forest is as small as they currently generate), i don't think a new dimension is the solution here. i also don't feel that deep dark elements mesh well with the white forest; the deep dark is a dark place who's pallete is blacks and blues. the white forest's pallete is completely opposite with white & orange as the main colors. the mechanics don't even make sense together. the deep dark is all about sound. the white forest is all about sight.
@@sespider That wouldn't be a suitable size for a content drop. That's a full-blown update-sized update. You're more than welcome to try modding it into the game, though.
Hot take but pocket edition players can live without off hand functionality while still allowing other bedrock platforms to have it. Yeah they'll be mad but are they gonna stop playing over that, absolutely not. if your playing pocket edition its because your either away from your preferred platform or because you have no other option of playing Minecraft. not to mention most people playing pocket edition are kids who are already confused and angry that the game isnt the same as when they watch there favorite youtuber play.
@@rendarcrow why would he leave? He didn't leave cuz of java players having an off hand so why would he leave now? Pocket edition doesn't need an offhand option

Listen, when people say they don't want a mob vote it's because people don't want one of three mobs, they want all of them. Rather than that, having something like popular suggestions be considered for addition would be a lot healthier and better for the community instead of having to choose the removal of two features.
i never updated past 1.7.10 because thats where all the mods are and minecraft without mods is bland imo, i dont remember the last time reading patch notes for minecraft, its been forever loll
Targeting younger people like inbetween 12-4 is a terrible idea due to them being ipad kids mostly that have a 5 second attention span and some cant even read, also its very unlikely if they even do buy minecraft they will play it for about half a second than they'll be back to tiktok and youtube shorts
12-14 is not the generation you're thinking of. What you're describing is under 9 (and you were like that once, too! - this isn't specific to ipad kiddos.) I'm 15 and I grew up with Minecraft Java. I am now a full time arts student and not a doomscroller [my attention span is bad I'll admit, but not because of media, because of a congenital disability LOL] Additionally the reading problem appears to only be an issue in specific countries witrh non phonetic systems right now, kids over here read just fine. The issue isn't them targetting kids. It's what they *think* targetting them means... I feel very priveleged to be one of the last years that got to grow up with child media that hasn't completely been reduced down to round things no violence sunshine rainbows bs. We grew up just fine with things like old Minecraft, it wasn't inappopriate.
The steps have been taken for years. The Account Migration consolidated everyone. Now if you own one, you own both. Cross platform only works on Bedrock, with no official support for Java. And Finally Java isn't monetized as much as Bedrock. With them moving for paid add-ons and limiting features modders use, they're clamping down on mods. It only makes sense they are gonna eventually cut the version that doesn't generate as much money and has a shrinking playerbase.
There's people (like me) who only play Java... And the legacy console edition. Bedrock sucks in my opinion compared to legacy console for switch, and also it'd hurt the player base significantly if Java was discontinued. Almost all content creators use Java, Java has the more advanced modding scene, and if they were gonna stop Java then they should've done it way sooner
@@shajidrahaman saying "Java doesn't support cross platform like bedrock does" is like a half true statement because java edition isn't a game that's on multiple platforms. For example, saying "Growtopia isn't cross-platform like Roblox" would be a fully true statement because Growtopia and Roblox are on PC and Xbox, but Growtopia Xbox doesn't let you connect with or friend PC players the way roblox does. In the case of java and bedrock minecraft, it would be like saying a PC exclusive game doesn't support cross play. technically true, but it's such a weird statement to make in the first place that it inherently feels false. not beefing, just thought it would be fun to deeply explain.
My prediction, MS will slowly kill MC with bloat and directionlessness. People will eventually lose interest. Especially if a hungry upstart ever makes makes something novel that scratches the same itch.
It's hard to find a direction when everyone wants Minecraft to go in a different direction. Some people want more building blocks, others want more enemies, others want more tools and armour.
Nowdays i would preffer if they just end the support of the java version, let modders bring us the updates. Nowdays i just play heavly modded modpacks and don't even care for the new features.
Anyone else really sad about Lydia leaving? It has always been a dream of mine to work at Mojang and one of the things I wanted to do was meet her, Agnus and Jeb
As a OG java player, I remember being hyped for pocket, played it with friends freshman year of college and then ditched it because it was sooo different and broken compared to java
The guy who made the Ather mod should be in charge of the game going forward because he's actually been there since the beginning and can add stuff that truly fits within Minecraft's original vision
Mojang saying “we don’t charge for updates” is stupidity and they even know it. Suggesting they could charge for them is like a movie theater charging you ticket price to see the movie and then charging $5 more once you get to the door to just to enter theater. It’s a troll move to make players feel like they are getting all this free stuff, but in reality Mojang chose to double down on Minecraft rather than branching out to new games. So yeah updates are an expectation not a privilege, don’t allow that narrative to grow or else games will just become even more of a money harvest.
That's why the marketplace on bedrock exists, and java exists since people are used to it and enough people will start playing bedrock by recommendation of java players to make money And the people who play java and refuse to go to bedrock are generally less likely to be the people who would spend money on the marketplace
Eh, they could simply choose to not update the game. You still get exactly what you paid for. The only reason they keep updating the game is because free updates are profitable.
@hhff8534 yeah I am aware they could just stop. But it’s not the audiences burden to have to pay for an update. As you said the update in itself will be profitable without even charging for it, so charging for an update would essentially be them shooting themselves in the foot and be the death of their game. You don’t go to the movies expecting to be charged an entry fee, when you just bought a ticket to see the movie. You would just wait for the movie to come out to see it at home. You wouldn’t go to a car dealership with cash in hand placing an order for a custom made car, and sign a contract for a set price on your order. To have them calling every three months for more money because they didn’t calculate their suppliers price increases. You’ll just cancel the deal and go somewhere else. Same goes for a game if they choose to continue to update its not the players fault or burden to pick up their financial costs, it’s up to them at Mojang to create spin off and a brand like they have behind Minecraft to sustain the game. If they rolled out an update and said you know moneys tight here at Mojang even though we know it’s tight for those of you at home as well we’re going to offer a new tree for $20 and you have to buy this update before you can get any future updates since the game just won’t function properly without all updates combined. That would be the quickest way to kill a game and potentially a company.
I really hate that drops change Not because i think that the sice of updates now is too little, but because it makes modding even more annoying I wish they would instead do something where they would have at least 1 year time between updates (ignoring the few small bug fix patches that come after a big release) They could still do the thing with the previews, so people dont have to wait too long for new features to test them out
Yeah idk why they want more small updates it just makes them all feel disappointing and i like waiting for the new update every year, i don't play the game enough to keep up with every tiny thing they are going to add now. And if they are all like the gray forest then game is dead
I think the new management really is redefining a lot of things, like "what is an update" and I hope they decide for the better on the big questions like the editions
0:41 That is the true problem with mojang not because they are lazy they are fully capable of making huge and amazing updates but the system is holding them back they got too much leadership and bedrock edition is not helping that much either because so many different platforms need be tested and bug fixed and implementing right controls schemes, especially on you pocket edition. They need to fix their bureaucracy. And Valve have a opposite problem to Mojang Valve have too less of leadership everyone is like a mini leader in the company that means they can pick and choose what project they want to work on if they want to work on the new cool VR headset or the steam deck they can do that, also they can pick to work on Team Fortress 2 but they don't want to do the boring back end work on running servers and doing necessary basic security maintenance like working on the games anti-cheat and update it for detecting new cheats. Valve did not stop the bot crisis they just hire a outside company to basic back end work and work on team fortress 2.
@@DethFaux Some bad news Valve change back the blue trousers on the scout back to its normal colour. And even more sad news that blue trousers only lasted a day. Yes very sad scout main noises.
I think that people should do more research instead of watching a youtube video, ignoring most of it, and taking whatever they agree with the most and manipulating it to further their toxicity towards this game that they """""love"""""
My only concern with the new drop system is that getting a group of mods all up to date on a server is going to be much harder. However with the days of fabric they seem to update WAY better than when every mod was forge-based.
I don't think there is a reason to fear for Java or Bedrock to be discontinued, because they put such a focus on pairity, wich shows that they want to merge the versions. The main Problem at the moment would be the different programming languages which is problematic for mods when the games merge. It seems to me, that they are aware of this, which is why there are so many changes to datapacks. With every new version, there are more things that can be done with datapacks that previously required a mod. At one point, almost any modification of the game will be possible to make within a datapack, which would lead to a reduced popularity of old modding options. When this point is reached, they can easily "merge" the versions by seemlessly converting java worlds to bedrock and discontinuing java without disappointing any part of the community. A good plan in my opinion.
So many bosses. It's a wonder the intern that codes the game for them gets any headway in their workflow. I bet it's sprints and story points all day long.
Bro, this is what I'm saying if most of minecraft players r over 24, why would they not add more friendly animals that u will get a reward for killing like a Bear or Crocodiles or shark or something else and add more Scary mobs or make someone them a bit more scary even if it's just a little bit of detail or the Noises it makes it would make Minecraft a lot more fun.I'm kinda sad ngl I thought Minecraft was actually getting a new leader or whatever😕
Because they don't want to spread the misconception that Sharks are evil people-eating creatures, when in reality it's people killing the sharks for their fins.
"Why do Minecraft think that new animals have to be friendly and loveable and there can't be any reward for killing them?" Apart from personal amusement... 😏🧐
That brings me to the question: what happened to dinnerbone? After the whole account migration, in which he did say he was quite ill and didn’t have much to do with after the initial announcement, I haven’t heard much from him?
java uses java lol and i havent seen a single console that can run java plus java is mainly used for mods so there really wouldnt be a point to java being on console without mods
@PojebanyWladyslaw java code can run on consoles cause they are still inherently computers with processors and script reading abilities so it most likely can run java. Also for the mod thing they could probably team up with curseforge and/or modrinth to make a menu to add mods in the games home menu.
@@2Dracula2 1: modded Minecraft is way more advanced on Java 2: Java is WAY more stable then bedrock 3: Java is the preferred version for most content creators. Without TH-camrs ect Minecraft wouldn't have blown up, and it'd be severely hindered if they got rid of it.
@@the_seer_0421hey why don't you actually explain why it would be a terrible idea like I did rather than making a rude joke to someone who doesn't get it. It literally makes you look like a jerk and makes the idea of keeping Java the same to them at that moment, aka they don't think there's any reason to keep it
I think getting rid of traditional updates and replacing them completely is detrimental. Drops have been extremely confusing in terms of versions and what the drops are
I'm sure neither we nor anyone at Mojang knows how long would Minecraft be developed. A game this big can't just stop being developed, there needs to be a reason for the conclusion and the only good ones I can think of are Minecraft becoming unpopular (which won't happen soon), Minecraft being replaced by another game (which there is a really small chance of happening) or the death of someone important like Microsoft's CEO or Jens. And even if Minecraft dies somehow I'm sure there would be many fans continuing where Mojang left off and creating some incredible stuff until they run out of ideas, which would also take many years.
They need to stop adding extra tack ons and finish revamping existing biomes. Desert, Mesa, End. Once all these things are fleshed out then sure by all means let’s do a little halloween mini biome or whatever. I like it! But priority wise I think it’s out of order.
It really bothers me how Minecraft limits their stuff because they’re trying to be a kids game, when nothing in the game or anything that’s been thought about being added was not kid friendly. Like if you get a reward for killing something in Minecraft, it doesn’t teach these kids to go kill people or animals to get stuff like that. It’s like the thing when parents were all freaking out about grand theft auto and call of duty thinking video games make kids more violent when it’s proven that they don’t. I mean it’s like the most basic concept in video games. You kill something and they drop something based on whatever percent chance the item is
Both the studio and game are a complete mess. Far too many cooks in the kitchen and no orders being served to the paying customers. There is no real reason for there to be multiple versions of the game. Java, Education, and Bedrock should ALL be the same build. Java should not have features that Bedrock does, have, and vice versa. And absolutely ZERO reason for Education edition. Just put those items into the vanilla build! We're all would rather have chalkboards than the stupid signs anyway. Unless it's for esthetic uses in our builds. Give Bedrock users the ability to place and rotate blocks as Java players have! Give Bedrock users actual shaders! IT'S BEEN A FREAKING DECADE ALREADY! Stop forcing the removal of achievements just because players (especially console Bedrock players) want to update their worlds with add-ons! My buddy lost his 10 year old xbox world yesterday just because he enable the "Better Biomes" add-on for a long past due scenery update. NOT ONCE did any of the menus say add-ons perma blocks achievements! I know because I tested it myself. I've known the man for 20 yrs and I've never heard him so sad and angry. And I Don't Blame Him! He spent thousands of hours building his world. Mining for every resource to build amazing buildings, structures, and underwater tunnels. The man basically drained a entire ocean one block/sponge at a time, BY HIMSELF! I'm going to do everything I can to try and restore achievements onto his Xbox world. BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO!!
There is a way to restore achievements, does your friend have a file exploxer app, theres one in the mircosoft store, its called something like my file exploxer? And if he does not; can he afford a realm so he can transfer the world to his phone?
@froggygalaxy I know what you're referring to. Unfortunately, it's not possible on Xbox Series X. That system hides all content in the world's folder. He'll have to install Minecraft onto his PC and use a realm, on the same account, to bring back achievements. I have instructions written up for him. At the moment he's too upset to touch the game. But thank you for the feedback.

Not accusatory or anything sorry if it comes off that way I’m just genuinely curious cause that’s so baffling to me
@froggygalaxy They are on the Xbox ONE, not the Series X. Xbox Series X players have to use a realm and their PC to fix their worlds. I know because I had to do so for my world after I confused it with my creator copy. I now have command blocks on my fixed survival world, because screw Mojang for disabling achievements, just because I want to actually enjoy the game I paid for. I've yet to try, but I'm going to see if there's a way to also fixed world's without losing access to it's add-ons.

Once an entity sells out, it core becomes profit and not passion. Minecraft has stagnated over the years I believe due to this. They have had the guy who built the aether on the team, and yet no official integration or map. Minecraft is literally the digital equivalent of Lego, definitely a 100 year game. Microsoft was/is sleeping on Minecraft. Halfway in, halfway out, example Minecraft movie. Minecraft movie needs to be a banger to create a new renaissance.
I think a huge issue with current Minecraft, is that they dug themselves into a hole with Bedrock. It just... Isn't nearly as feature rich as Java, and also has a shady gray market for maps and skins. So if Bedrock isn't it, what is? I'll tell you what's it's not, Java. It has a TON of issues, especially performance. Bedrock was supposed to replace Java, but not _made_ to replace it - which didn't, and will never work. Honestly, they should just start over again - this time prioritizing Java features and more deterministic Redstone, as well as both official, AND good mod support - for all it's flaws, Skyrim's system seems to be working. If not Skyrim, there are plenty of other games to take from to make good mod support. Minecraft just isn't doing anything right anymore.

I don't think this is up to Mojang. I have a feeling this is one of the higher-ups, quite possibly a Microsoft higher-up

Mod developers would without a doubt be implementing the new features from "bedrock" added after the "final java version" and also allowing mod developers to thrive with new capabilities (One that comes to mind is the in-dev port of the Cubic Chunks mod for versions 1.21+)
So overall Java edition being cancelled despite if it was to happen would only make for Modders to have a true frenzy that can be the best ever modding experience since Minecraft Java Edition 1.12.2
Still would suck because you would have to download mods to experience new content
Although I doubt they would stop updating any time soon, considering most big youtubers play Java and the modding community is very large. This edition basically servers as advertisement for the franchise as a whole.
@@Josue_S_6411To be fair alternate lauchers like ATlaucher is verry easy
But still java being cancelled would suck even as a bedrock player

I run Linux, exclusively. I CAN NOT switch to Bedrock, even if I wanted to, which I also don't, for many other reasons: the combat is lame, lag deaths, portal deaths, the redstone blows, lack of good modding, microtransactions. Oh yeah, I _WRITE_ Java mods - should have mentioned that first. xD
I just don't understand why they didn't use Java on all platforms - The JVM is literally DESIGNED to run anywhere.

At night it could give a blindness effect as well. i don't think the white forest offers enough fresh ideas to carry an entire dimension, and reusing ideas from the end comes off as lazy and uninspired. mojang already gets enough people calling them lazy, they don't need to add onto that by reusing assets. while i do wish the biome were larger (it's difficult for it to pull off its intended atmosphere when the forest is as small as they currently generate), i don't think a new dimension is the solution here. i also don't feel that deep dark elements mesh well with the white forest; the deep dark is a dark place who's pallete is blacks and blues. the white forest's pallete is completely opposite with white & orange as the main colors. the mechanics don't even make sense together. the deep dark is all about sound. the white forest is all about sight.

Didn't really think of it like that but yeah sand box's are expected to be like that
That's why the marketplace on bedrock exists, and java exists since people are used to it and enough people will start playing bedrock by recommendation of java players to make money
And the people who play java and refuse to go to bedrock are generally less likely to be the people who would spend money on the marketplace
They will never be able to "merge" them regardless of how powerful Datapacks become.
If they "merge" it will just be replacing java with bugrock and calling it a merge

@@Mimiyan_or_Pikapikafan I'm just goofing around, don't take it so seriously.
Lydia leaving is pretty sad to hear, she was legit in every Minecraft guide book ever and she’s been working at mojang forever
They stay on weekends to make 1/4 of a decent Minecraft mod?
I think getting rid of traditional updates and replacing them completely is detrimental. Drops have been extremely confusing in terms of versions and what the drops are
And also another reason if they ever do try to cancel Java I feel like they're just going to merge what was the left of java and of bedrock together
What is really sad is the CEOs only care about profit and the minecraft shop. They need to hire someone who actually plays and cares for the game.
oh i was hoping this meant no more microsoft
I'm sure neither we nor anyone at Mojang knows how long would Minecraft be developed. A game this big can't just stop being developed, there needs to be a reason for the conclusion and the only good ones I can think of are Minecraft becoming unpopular (which won't happen soon), Minecraft being replaced by another game (which there is a really small chance of happening) or the death of someone important like Microsoft's CEO or Jens.
And even if Minecraft dies somehow I'm sure there would be many fans continuing where Mojang left off and creating some incredible stuff until they run out of ideas, which would also take many years.
The internal structure of Mojang is so confusing. How many "heads" do you need?
@froggygalaxy
I know what you're referring to.
@@sespider They say it above the name of the world and when loading an add-on, from what I recall of last month, when I did that. Might've been longer ago, lost track of time.
@ It does? I’ve seen people on xbox series x modify their minecraft to get mods and yknow kinda have to access files to get said mods
But granted i dont use Xbox series x, I use xbox one. I assume he had to access his files to even get the addon in the first place though? Not accusatory or anything sorry if it comes off that way I’m just genuinely curious cause that’s so baffling to me
@froggygalaxy
They are on the Xbox ONE, not the Series X.
Probably a lot of people might be a bit angry if Java Edition was ended. That's just my guess though
Yes that's right
Nah, I hate bedrock
@@gojoeama86your gammer
Bedrock is better in my opinion
@@Drunkgg775 you like what you want. But Java is THE Minecraft, Bedrock is a cheap copy (that derived from MCPE).
Also how do you like to be limited on the 2nd Hand, not able to use a torch and a pickaxe ?
When are people not angry? Haha.
Did the guy who built the aether even want official integration? Same thing with the tropicraft dev also at mojang
why would they add the aether to minecraft
Im glad at least Microsoft left the game alone for a bit before they decided to ruin it
We've come to save you!
Hurray it's Mojang!
From yourselves!
Oh no, its Mojang
Removing the mob vote is not bad lol
So Jeb is still in his same role.
I got really scared that Jeb left lol
3:34 Because adults want animal friends too.
I play bedrock on Linux and Mac... Yes, it's using an unofficial launcher though.
Bro, if Mojang please add off hand add-on in bedrock and add-on is a better than mod
Mojang is a scary
Very annoying that they don't add official bedrock launcher for Linux. screw micro$oft
@@callyralI hate bedrock
I mainly play Bedrock so I can cross play with my kids on the XBox
Same here. Works a treat!
Can't believe ibxtoycat said they should maybe some day make minecraft 2 lmao
Man, i'm here to watch this video in 4K

laughing to myself
my realization is of
a fact tragedy
Man this made me so sad
I can't believe she left the game. :(
Actually, she left Mojang in early October and I'm only learning of it now. 😅
I remember when she was "MinecraftChick"
So we lost WINTERs, meaning we have a SPRINGing Minecraft year ahead of us after this, straight into the best year of SUMMER ever, until the game FALLS off hard.
The only reason this is the case is that java doesn't have mtx
I feel like the leadership over the last few years has been extremely lacking, so it did need some change. Not sure how i feel about the new leadership tho, im skeptical
unfathomable
0:44
Mojang really needs new leadership the past few years have not been the best.
With the whole drops explaination i thought of it more as we have mini non wide update fitting features added wile in BG larger features/updates are worked on. Wont be as often but lets room for expectations to not be so wild at specific times without mojang setting it up
They should port Bedrock to Linux and Mac
I dont think they have a plan honestly
Good thing Vintage Story exists ;)
It's easier to just play the better game.
Thank God. Hope it becomes better and get more game-y vibes instead of them trying to be realistic. It’s a damn game guys 💀
