Oh, great - I hope you'll have lots of rusty fun very soon! And thank you for the anniversary wishes - it's actually still a couple of weeks away, and I'm thinking of popping up on screen to say hello properly when it does! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Lovely work Alison! You made me laugh with your comment about “saving bits in a jar or pot” to use later. In my little studio I have soooo many bits that it’s become a storage issue. I’m paraphrasing now, “saving craft bits and using them are two separate hobbies”. Thanks kindly for sharing ❤️🇨🇦
Oh dear... it really is a problem when you can see a potential use for every last scrap of paper and cardboard (as well as household objects). At least I do get around to using some of it!! Thanks so much for your company and comments, as ever.
Loved watching this video! Took notes and will give this a try…I have so many metal gears that I’ve rusted with PaperArtsy rusting powder. I would like to try this process for a different effect. Thanks for sharing your amazing techniques and love to listen to you as you explain your process!!!🧡🧡🧡
I love the PaperArtsy Rusting Powder - it's so brilliant, isn't it?! Happy to have offered up another way for you to get some rusty decay into your work. Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Oh, how nice to follow up on something you saw months ago and see it take new life! That's very often the way with backgrounds around here... they have to wait a while for the next stages to happen. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment - much appreciated.
Thanks Alison, that was great fun to watch. It went by so fast. I got my stamp out, paints ready and unfortunately they are still sitting there. I have had a week of good and not so good news. My youngest is going to make me a Nana for the second time, grandson from other daughter turns 13 next month. So that made me happy enough to diminish the not so lovely heath news. Getting old and more health issues just seem to be going hand in hand for me. I still feel like I am in my 40's my body just doesn't agree. Sorry for the blathering! Have a spectacular day.
Glad to hear about the ups - congratulations! - and sorry to hear about the downs... Our elderly neighbour back in the UK (97 when we first met her, and lived to 103) used to say "old age never comes alone" - and I guess that's about right. Hopefully, you'll find some time to play with those stamps and paints soon, and that will offer some distraction. Wishing you more ups than downs as the week goes on.
Hello Alison! Would love to buy you a coffee... I'll try to figure it out on my end once you figure it out on yours! 😊 Love this tag and the various rust elements. I don't know if I actually have Quin Gold or not... but I should have it... I was going to get out those Andy Skinner pigments a couple of months ago but got switched. They're from an older paint collection, not his newest paint venture. More snow and COLD temperatures but it's January and expected. I stayed at my brothers for a couple of days so I didn't have to drive in it. All is well here... still being creative... will look forward to a few minutes of fun on Saturday! Take care and have a lovely rest of your week! 🙂
Thank you so much, Sue, as always... and for the generous coffee offer! This video was supposed to go live on Wednesday, but somehow I managed to publish it a day early, so my carefully laid plans to have the coffee button in place all went awry. It's there now... (Do take a look at the page, and I'd love any thoughts you have on the supporter levels you see there. It's absolutely not compulsory to consider any of those - a one-off "coffee" is entirely welcome! This is just a soft launch - I'll do a proper little introduction video for it when we hit the year anniversary - which is in a few weeks' time). But aside from that - yes, very cold here too over the last few days, but still only dustings of snow. Enjoy your creative playtime, and I'll see you on Saturday (or soon thereafter!).
@@w0rdsandp1cturesHello again! I finally got the coffee taken care of… my thoughts are probably different than the majority of people… I don’t do social media, I don’t store stuff in a cloud, I still have my home phone so that I don’t have to share my cell phone when shopping, I don’t store credit card information online so I usually only use PayPal for most of my shopping other than amazon. I originally tried to buy the coffee using an almost generic rewards style credit card but it wouldn’t let me. Since I am borderline paranoid about personal information being sold or stolen, let alone having commitment issues, I finally did a single money gift as opposed to signing up for the membership. I’m amusing myself admitting to just how many online phobias I have but you asked my thoughts so I am sharing them. Regarding the memberships… for me, it’s more about wanting to give back and supporting you rather than what I can get for the money at the various levels… I think the $4, $8, $12 are good options that in my head, I turned them into $1,$2,$3 per week… then… x$ per video with free perks 😊… I have to think about it some more 😂 to decide if I can handle it… I would definitely do the Gold level because I DO LOVE the idea of LIVE chats and sneak peaks behind the scenes. See you soon! 🙂
Seeing the rusty grunge build up was very satisfying. I liked the rust effect on the cardboard too - that was an unexpected bonus. I have just re-stocked some Quinacridone gold paint and I agree that it gives a really good rusty colour. The rusty metal effect on the gears looked very realistic too and if you didn't know they weren't metal, you wouldn't realise. (Thanks for the visual reminder - I must go and use my Curator stamp set and make some labels!)
Happy you enjoyed the grungy rusty playtime. I've always loved Quin Gold since I first discovered it over a decade ago - a great shortcut to rust, though I usually combine it with other things too. Have fun stamping your Curator labels, and thank you for another lovely comment.
Thank you very much! Tag Time was meant to be moving to Wednesday, but I guess even a habit of a few weeks was hard to give up... I scheduled this one for Tuesday by mistake!! Ah well, maybe I can squeeze in a little something extra later in the week... we'll see.
Good morning. My friend recommended your channel to me because my goal this year isvto learn grunge and mixed media. I love your tag. Thanks for sharing and happy creating.
Very happy you found your way here - and thanks to your friend for their recommendation - welcome! And if you're after grunge and mixed media, this video is certainly a good place to start! If you'd like to see the grungy crackle in the background being made, that video is linked in the description too. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, and I hope you'll enjoy exploring further on the channel.
That's really kind of you to come back. Hitting that button makes a difference to the TH-cam algorithm, and helps spread the video to new viewers - so thank you!!
For some reason, I've always loved that rusty decay... there's a melancholy about it which I find very attractive as an ingredient in my creative journey.
Happy you are enjoying the videos, thank you. There isn't a video of these particular labels. But I did do some label-stamping and painting in this video th-cam.com/video/L1QuXryTb9M/w-d-xo.html - different colours, but the same principle. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I went right out and bought supplies to start making “rusty goodness”! Congratulations on one year anniversary! Here’s to many more years! 🍾

what a fabulous look. Love it! Absolutely great option. If others can support you why not! XX
Happy you love the rusty grunginess! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thank you for the tutorial on the rust! Can't wait to try it. Wonderful tag.
So happy you enjoyed it - thanks so much for watching and commenting, and have fun playing!
That are super cool rusting effects. Thanks for this explanation Alison.
Thank you. There are so many ways to rust things, but it's good to have a nice simple one to play with sometimes!

This is fab, I love the raised dimensions and the rusty journey of the cogs xx
Thank you so much... I had lots of fun with this one, as you can probably tell!
Ooh I remember these tags. I think that was one of the first videos I saw you do. Glad to be here to see the next life for them

Thank you very much - you can't beat a bit of grungy rustiness!
I came back to the video again - to hit the like button. I forget to do that sometimes. 😅

absolutely gorgeous. Such a beautiful grunge on that tag. ❤ xxx
Thank you very much - January definitely puts me in a rusty grungy mood, I think!

Love it and i must say rust effects are growwing on me…

Love love love! Xxx
Thank you very much!
Hi,
Do you have a video on how you made the labels?
I love your creative process! 😍
