I really enjoyed your video!! I love transfers, so it's always neat to learn new methods! I could see using your larger grey board as a book cover, the photo strip would make a great journal insert into a pocket, the wood branch slices would be neat just laying around on shelves to pique others' interest! Love them, and thank you for sharing!
If you stabilize the cotton fabric first you will get better results. Iron freezer paper to the back or just paint the back first. Ironed fabric is smoother and gives the best results. Matte medium transfers hold up to hard use and look great years later!
OK Then! I just found you Marly and your lovely digital papers and then Nitsa and her books. I have one book and multiples of your papers. I was so inspired by your work and hers. Itching to get started. Thank you!
I think they would make awesome covers for junk journals! There are so many possibilities! I’ve added to my list of new things to try! This was my first visit to your channel and I’ll definitely be back!
Thank you for this tutorial Marty. I really enjoyed yet! I absolutely love the last when you did. The botanical one. I would love to create such images and use them in my journals. Thanks again !✨️🌺🙋♀️
I've done with type of transfers with mod podge and it works well. I'll have to try this with the matte medium and oil. Thank you for sharing these techniques.
I am a new subbie. I enjoyed your video. I like the way you edited the video! Thank you for sharing your techniques! 💕 I've never seen the technique done on canvas OR wood! 😳
Thank you so much. I did this years ago and totally have forgotten about it. Beautiful results. What was the product Matte Varnish? I could not see the tube label I have grey board I've never used did you paint it first? I really want to do the fabric vintage photos. And I have wooden tree slices so maybe little heart gifts? Was a fun watch ....
I have only used the water method. I believe I used photographic paper. It was such a long time ago? Maybe something for you to try using photographic paper, reverse image. See if it works with oil. Great video, thank you ❤
This is really cool Marlise! Thanks for introducing us to Nitsa! I’d love to try transferring on fabric. I have tightly woven canvas and muslin. They’d make great journal covers or even a strip to cover a junk journal spine.
Thanks for this video and your tips! What kind of paper are you printing your digitals on? My experience has been that paper matters for these kinds of jobs.
The oil examples towards the end of your video you mentioned were not varnished. Do you suggest they can not be finished that way, or is that what you are going to be sharing in your next video? As I am a card and journal maker, that's how i see using your ideas. I think the branch blocks could easily be on a journal front with maybe some floaty fabric underneath.
There are different purposes. They can be simple writing journals, all the way to an art journal, and everything in between. They started out as people taking trash and things destined for the dump, saving it and creating journals done in different ways. And they have evolved. A purist still uses “junk”. Others use a combination of junk and other multi media items. Others primarily use scrapbook paper or digital prints. Others use antique papers, papers they have made themselves. It runs the gambit. Some use a lot of fabric and fibers. They traditionally contain a lot of pockets, tucks, journaling cards, secret pockets, flips, so they can be very simple to very complicated. So, the purpose can be a simple journal or datebook for you to write in daily. To something similar to a coffee table book.
I'll try an answer too. Junk Journals, like Jackie said, can be used as actual journals. However, I also think that one of their main purposes is to create a pleasing arrangement of materials, that captures and holds your interest as you browse through it. A lot of them end up being little works of art in themselves, without the need of using them for something else, although if people further personalise them by actual journaling or storing personal photographs and papers in them that's of course brilliant.
I love this. Thanks for sharing. Nitsa is awesome.

Great vision 🤗 Thank you ❤️
Thank you for sharing this ❤
Love the photos on fabric. Not sure what I would do with them.
The fabric pieces would make a cute book.
Adorable idea ❤️
This is so amazing. Thank you for your detailed instructions. Your creations on all of the different materials are stunning. 🤗🇨🇦🤗
Wow this is fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, these are all so pretty! I’ve got to try to make my own. ❤
These all turned out fabulous! Thank you for walking thru each process. This will be so fun to try out. Great inspirations! Love and light ❤️🤗
I really enjoyed this.
Thank you for not rattling on an on but getting right to the point.
Thank you, very inspiring!

Such great tips! Thanks a lot ❤️
Wow that's amazing!!! I'd like to know more about the paper used as well.
I will cover this topic in my next video 🤗

The matt varnish was a cheap, no brand, varnish from a dollar store. No, I did not paint the greyboard, the print went straight on 👍
Thank you Marly💕💕🤗
Great tutorial, I will be doing this for sure. thank you!

I have not seen either of these methods. I can't wait to try it.

Your ideas sound really wonderful 🤗
Thanks for this video and your tips! What kind of paper are you printing your digitals on? My experience has been that paper matters for these kinds of jobs.
My prints were printed on off white bio paper, do not know the brand yet, but will ask my professional copy shop for a brand name for you 👍
I made the wood slices into Christmas tree ornaments.
So to confirm, both inkjet and laser can be used with this method, correct?
Great question! I'm figuring out as we speak and it will be adressed in my next video 🙌
@@Marlydesign Many thanks for sharing your experiences!! We love it!
Great idea, does it always have to be a laser print.
Let me try a inkjet print in the next couple of days and I will share with you in my next video 👍
I would love to make little hearts with the fabric...
That is an awesome idea!
IS VERY NICE BUT NOT ALL OF US HAVE LAZER PRINTER, IS THERE ANOTHER WAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO.
I also do not have a laser printer. For a couple of laser prints I go to a professional copy shop.
Nice

Love your idea for the wood slices ❤️ And tes, there will be more information in the next video 🙌
Can this be used with an ink jet printer or do I need to use a laser printer only?
For oil transfer you need a laser print and for the matt medium method you can use inkjet & laser 👍
Thanks for this video. I love the dimensions of your tag! What is the size and did you buy it or make it or is it part of the digital kit please?
It is a Tim Holtz etcetera tag, 5 inch wide x 10 inch tall
❤
But then you can’t use anything but oil color media over the tea tree transfer.if you want to add color here and there
I will try to figure that out in the next couple of days. Great comment!
I found the video interesting , however , forgive me , what does one do with a junk journal. What is it's purpose?

Jackie gave you such a beautiful explanation wich I totally support ❤️

I do transfers with woodglue, like #OurUpcycledLife here on TH-cam. She is in my opinion the queen of image transfers ❤
Wonderful! I will take a look 🤗
