    Such a great martial art, but the sparring, competition and points scoring system absolutely blows.

    Why do all Karate styles end up looking alike when they spar? It looks like Shotokan to me.

    • @nchung3856
      @nchung3856 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because of the point system

    • @bencebuda4599
      @bencebuda4599 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Two reasons.
      1. The rulse system. If two styles fight under the same rules they'll look pretty similar.
      2. It's still Karate. Differences between Karate styles are mostly minor with some exceptions.

      Different rules.. We don’t even use gloves in JKA Shoto only tournaments. Bare fist or (optional) knuckle wraps. And can’t get hit at all if you want to win 😂

    Great system but the scoring points and the referee system SUCKS
    Like the guy who has better looking physique, and one who shows off better gets the point with just loud shouts.
    I've blocked their punches and kicks even grappled a kick once, that's clearly to my advantage but the referee pauses once I block and awards the point... I be like WTF really, I quit official matches now I wish to truly learn and understand this skill as points don't really matter.

      indeed it's a kind of comedy. Because of rules of course. They are not able to fight with e.g. muay -tai competitors, or just kick-boxing. Generally with anybody who has a clue how to punch. Try to fight even with kyokushin - can't see their chances. As a way of doing sport for health - ok, but for fight, no.

      Obviously, you don’t know the rules of WKF.Indeed, this video is showing sports karate in competition
      not real fighting and they must follow the rules if they want to play the
      games.To know more of karate, please visit the websites as below:

      Moreover, in real life, karate-ka always humble and patience
      but in a real fight is much faster and harder, because they do not need to show
      their skills

    • @rumpelstilckinio5793
      @rumpelstilckinio5793 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah... that's why even kyokushin competitors lost in the first round with boxers. I did kyoukushin many years, fought many times on rings (not only) and a huge drawbback is a lack of reliable boxing technics. So I devoted many years for bioxing too. So, I know karate, very well as well is its disadvantages.

      @@onandoff2010 não sou expert em karate. Mais eu não treino pra ficar pulando e brincando de um lado pro outro. Por isso que o karate virou piada no mundo inteiro. Não é mais uma arte marcial. Agora é dança, com luvinhas e sapatinhos combinando!

      @nchung3856 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@最後のステップ Desculpe pela resposta tardia, espero que esteja a salvo da crise do vírus. Discordo que o karatê é um trabalho em todo o mundo, o karatê é uma ótima arte marcial se você realmente sabe que o kata é muito melhor que o TKD,
      No entanto, concordo parcialmente com você que o sistema de pontos é um dos problemas, os árbitros são outro problema, as pessoas precisam ajustar seu estilo e a maneira de lutar pelos pontos.
      O canadense chinês na luta é treinado em particular pelo fundador do Iran Karate, o maior karate-ka da história do karatê, treinado em particular pelo ex-árbitro principal da Pan Am e membros do conselho da WKF.

      I’m not even Shoto-Ryu stylist. But I get that point-fighting trains speed, accuracy and fighting IQ rather than just standing there close range depending totally on strength until one of them gets knocked out (without expecting getting punched in the face, of course) 😂 Better hope the other person is weaker and a worse puncher than you. It makes sense why GSP adopts pint-fighting style and fights in & and out of range like the rest of us in the UFC. He trained his fighting IQ. While Machida just sticks to his Shotokan style and trains hard for strength & body conditioning. He already has fighting IQ.
