I've mesmer mained since lauch, but only recently decided to give WvW a chance. While in PvE I could comfortably navigate fights with multiple veterans/elites. But, being a more casually experienced player, I was getting my butt handed to me in WvW. I tried a build that rendered similar results, but it was clumsy, didn't fit my set up and weakened me in PvE. It fits my keyboard/mouse setup very comfortably, integrated quickly with my playstyle, gave me a fighting chance in WvW and I am back to my accustomed fighting strength in PvE. . This build is great! Thank you for posting it. I'm anxious to look at your other videos.
This video was very helpful to me. I am just now getting on the gw2 wagon and my main is my mesmer. Didn't even know the class had this kind of burst potential
I encountered several players doing that, I just spellbreak the shit out of it or 5 shield with my main warrior XD I had to learn it the hard way, awesome mesmer burst !!

sometimes my mindstab just pulsates on the skillbar as it would be casting but doesnt go off until the end? it has only 1/4 cast time and the other skills shouldnt interupt it because they are instant. What am i doing wrong?

Depressed_Boy chrominance is stronger then mirage outside of stunbreak dodges. After hat gets nerfed I’ll most likely be playing chrono. Double phantasms and CSplit are super super strong.
Why not deception create 1 more clone in mirage trait and gs2 stun power spike jaunt f1, for max burst, cause mirror blade creates the clone and jaunt creates xtra one for shatter
Tophie Snow Sounds pretty good right? I tested this a lot in the beginning and thought it was way stronger. After I actually played with it and tested it I realized is was way weaker. The clone is nice but super inconsistent for bursts.
Question! The combo you showed at the beginning (Mirror Blade > Mantra of Distraction > Mantra of Pain > Mind Stab+Mind Wrack) ... Can all of this be done effectively without the Mirage elite spec? I won't have access to PoF for a very long while, but I love playing Mesmer and this video has really made me look forward to wanting this to work on Core/Chrono... is that possible?

Nice video. I was wondering what kind of keyboard you use? I like the look of the slightly angled key layout. ** EDIT: ** I also noticed you use (A) and (D) for abilities instead of movement. I assumed you use (W) and (S) to move backward and forward but use your mouse (Right Hold) to turn your camera? In which case you don't really strafe you just focus on clear forward and backward directional movements ? I use esdf for movement myself but was curious since I may try to adapt the (S) and (F) keys to allow for additional keys.
Current keyboard is a devastator, 1: Yes I use W and S for forward and backwards movement with right click for camera rotation. 2: I strafe frequently using q and e

So you say your burst has no prediction thanks to insta skills? Yet your burst starts with GS #2. Sure you can use stealth but usually people can hear you using torch #4 and dodge/block/evade in a few seconds. After they dodge your initial burst you have no pressure for 10 secs making you an easy target.
David Ortega You blink BEFORE Mantra of Distraction at about 3/4 of mirror blade animation so that you tele right next to them right before you throw the sword. And in the last 1/4 animation you use the mantra.
Thy You can’t use macros in gw2 or else you will get banned. I have a video showing my hand while I do this burst on my channel called “Am I using macros in gw2”

wayne liang It’s tough. In my opinion because core Mesmer is way easier to kill I’d run decoy instead of the power spike and in PvP I’d drop both mantras for decoy and portal for maximum evasiveness

Well what happens is you gain crit chance but lose over-all damage when you do crit. So because with fury you have high enough crit chance to crit consistently you want the raw power more then the crits and you end up doing more damage.
Roderick We most our stun transference from daze on confounding suggestions. So we don’t have a way to root our enemies into the actual burst. You can pull it off if you are really fast but it’s not possible to one shot good players anymore.

I have to disagree with you whenyou say "it's not overpowered because it's hard to do" first pulling the same combination over and over again is not hard, it's just training, and even if it was super hard to do so, it's still overpowered, you can't defend deleting people in less a second and get credit for that and say it's balanced.
Yeah i can understand that, but still you're being as extreme as them when trying to defend this. Nothing in a sane environment of pvp would be able to one shot someone that quickly, period. Does it deserve hundreds of people crying all day long on forums saying "ez to play, rollface class, carried by brainded mesmer" etc? no. Just be more intelligent than them mate.
I can't really argue on this poins since i never played an high level gw2 in pvp even if i'm trying to get back at it, but i'm very experienced overall on mmo pvp and classes pulling one shot on pvp for a too long period of time before it is fix is what kills a game, everyone will try to play those classes, this will put some classes that can do nothing against it in the oblivion and eventually everyone will get bored of this.
It's an OP cowards class. I don't mind the mesmers power but when you fail to get it off and it is blocked, you run away. Mesmers blow their load and run for the hills. Needs to be super nerfed if not gotten rid of altogether.
Don't get me wrong, I think this is a good video, helpful for those trying to stay competitive.. I've got back into GW2 for the first time in 4 or 5 years, and there've been a lot of improvements, especially in the variety of ways you can build characters. But at the same time there's a lot of one hit gameplay now which is worse than before. Trying to figure out how to build my mesmer but I kind of want to avoid this sort of stuff at the same time which is like shooting myself in the foot, so I'm not sure if I should keep working with it or just not take it very seriously...
I absolutely hate this, it is the reason why I never PvP in games. People say "You just need to practice to get better at PvP" Well, it is pretty fucking hard to practice when people are killing you in 1 second...... Loathe PvP in all games. Absolutely loathe it.

This is the worst burst I have seen on "mirage" xD I am doing this with my core mesmer without double mantra :) I do this twice as fast with mirage, because thats why you play mirage and not core ;) You have a "good" gameplay overall, but ur burst is rlly lame ^^

Yes I do haha ^^ ofc you burst at same speed with core and mirage because u use the same skills :) I use a different burst so its faster with mirage :) thats the reason why I play mirage, since the latest patch (stun remove) everyone can predict ur burst and just dodge out. So I am a robot if I do it faster? ^^

since Mental Damage was nerfed to Damage Increase 10% and Dmage increase vs. Inactivity 20% ...this build is pretty much useless... :(

I have to disagree with you whenyou say "it's not overpowered because it's hard to do" first pulling the same combination over and over again is not hard, it's just training, and even if it was super hard to do so, it's still overpowered, you can't defend deleting people in less a second and get credit for that and say it's balanced.

Yeah i can understand that, but still you're being as extreme as them when trying to defend this. Nothing in a sane environment of pvp would be able to one shot someone that quickly, period. Does it deserve hundreds of people crying all day long on forums saying "ez to play, rollface class, carried by brainded mesmer" etc? no. Just be more intelligent than them mate.
Erwin Metivier True. There are builds that can 1 shot this fast right now though. Staff thief has become a bit of an annoyance.
I can't really argue on this poins since i never played an high level gw2 in pvp even if i'm trying to get back at it, but i'm very experienced overall on mmo pvp and classes pulling one shot on pvp for a too long period of time before it is fix is what kills a game, everyone will try to play those classes, this will put some classes that can do nothing against it in the oblivion and eventually everyone will get bored of this.
Erwin Metivier Well it’s been consistently nerfed for the past several months. And it has been doable by one build or another for the past 5 years.
It's an OP cowards class. I don't mind the mesmers power but when you fail to get it off and it is blocked, you run away. Mesmers blow their load and run for the hills. Needs to be super nerfed if not gotten rid of altogether.
One hit KOs in PvP games are never good gameplay. Seems like damage has bloated a lot since I used to play GW2....

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a good video, helpful for those trying to stay competitive.. I've got back into GW2 for the first time in 4 or 5 years, and there've been a lot of improvements, especially in the variety of ways you can build characters. But at the same time there's a lot of one hit gameplay now which is worse than before. Trying to figure out how to build my mesmer but I kind of want to avoid this sort of stuff at the same time which is like shooting myself in the foot, so I'm not sure if I should keep working with it or just not take it very seriously...

Agreed. This kind of potential burst (difficult or not) is damaging to PvP. The DPS ceiling has gotten crazy high

This is the worst burst I have seen on "mirage" xD I am doing this with my core mesmer without double mantra :) I do this twice as fast with mirage, because thats why you play mirage and not core ;) You have a "good" gameplay overall, but ur burst is rlly lame ^^

Lean Weis Alright, well for starters this video is almost a year old, after that fact core doesn’t burst faster or slower than mirage because they burst with the same skills... also you can’t burst faster than me because I burst at the fastest speed the game allows without unnoticeable human error... so idk what you are talking about.

Yes I do haha ^^ ofc you burst at same speed with core and mirage because u use the same skills :) I use a different burst so its faster with mirage :) thats the reason why I play mirage, since the latest patch (stun remove) everyone can predict ur burst and just dodge out. So I am a robot if I do it faster? ^^
