This video taught me so much and answered so many questions. Thank you so much for a simple, straight-forward explanation of DIY seed. Will go out and check my aquilegia and foxgloves later on. New subscriber from Suffolk.
Great. Thanks for subscribing. I think you will find yourself loads of free seeds!
Excellent, I’m collecting nigella and calendula right now and my poppies all have “heads” at the moment. Have a super day Jill, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
We've been so wet and overcast here my Nigella and poppies are way behind. Mind you today was very sunny and tommorrow is even better so shouldn't be long. Have a great day yourself. 🌼🌧️🇬🇧🇨🇦
I purchased tons of seeds because of your channel. Some I have grown before from watching another video of yours. I am super excited and now I will be checking my plants for seeds. I’m impatient and them all down when start looking sad. Now I know to wait and watch. thanks
Oh no! I hope you didn't spend too much but at least you will have loads of free ones next year!!!!
Thanks for all the inspiration. My first year growing a cutting garden. I started many hardy annuals last autumn and have had some lovely vases of flowers from my garden. I will definitely start collecting seed to start the whole process again. Thank you so much.
I would. You can basically do it all again for free and grow even more. Sounds like you have enjoyed some gorgeous flowers!
I'm about to catch some calendula and parsley seeds 😊. Lots to come. I love the seeds... 😊
Calendula are such prolific seed producers and self seeders as well.
@@JillBretherton I love these flowers. At this time we have them out the front and in the greenhouse. I'm planing on fox and cups/ cubs....? I know it's a pain but it's so pretty.
@@clarefoskett9959 everyone needs more flowers 🌸🌼🌻🌺
Yes, we all do. We need as many as possible 🙏

Your videos are crystal clear! What camera do you use?
I actually just use an Iphone. If I don’t keep things simple, I just procrastinate and don’t do things.
I have, today, collected seeds of foxgloves, aquilegia, Welsh poppy, and delphiniums. Should I plant them now, or wait until September?
All of them can be started now and will over winter well. The only thing I am unsure about is the welsh poppies. I've never grown welsh ones before so I don't know if they are hardy or not.
Thank you so much for your helpful reply. Much appreciated.
can you plant green nasturtium seeds or do i need to dry them first? thanks for the info
I don't know if they are quite ripe. If they don't come off the plant easily I would leave. Any green ones that have already dropped to the ground are usually ok.
Can these just selfseed
Some of them will do. some of them are not so great at self seeding but I collect anyway because sometimes I want to grow them somewhere else and have more control over where things grow. Or just have them for back up.
