    I have the exact Samsung solo microwave you recommended, its budget friendly option too but due to black door we can’t see clearly what happens inside though the light is present that’s the only cons

    I purchased Samsung Solo microwave 23 L from Reliance Digital last week and am so disappointed. The dark door canvasses the feeble light inside. I'm unable to see the curry or milk inside boiling or overflowing... I'm so sad that I purchased Samsung microwave.. I love their washing machines but unfortunately microwave is pathetic ... The controls and the timer (Select/clock) is not user friendly as well... We are supposed to set our current clock time for display when not in operation.. But it keeps resetting to 12:00.... I'm so sad and disappointed with the purchase... For the same amount go for LG.. Small Difference in volume is not a deal breaker but not being able to see the microwave light definitely is.. Unnecessary spills and cleanups... Seems to be a major design flaw from Samsung...

      Hey ! I read many people complaining about the same 'dark door unable to see issue' of the Samsung 23l oven. I really like this Samsung model.. but unable to see whats going on inside is a major con for me. Do you think LG has clear view ?

    • @Dev-qz3zh

      @@bilbo8338 I don't know about the new LG.. My mom has a LG solo she got 5 years back and it is very bright with simple operation... When you're buying open the microwave and look for the surface with holes on the side wall inside... It is the larger in my mom's LG and on both sides.. But in my current samsung its a tiny area on one side alone... Apart from the dark door.. The light surface area in the sides and watts seem to be lower in samsung... Also test the door when you shop, by switching on the torchlight in your cellphone... Check if you can see it enough on the other side... These are some of the things you can check... Go for LG microwave rather than samsung... The few liters of more volume in Samsung hardly makes a difference... But the light display inside is definitely a deal breaker.. Sadly I got the wrong one... And am mourning my purchase 😪😪😪😪😪

      @@Dev-qz3zh Thanks for the tips. I will look for the LG one. I was leaning towards Samsung because of the ceramic inner cavity.. compared to the steel one in LG. I hope it doesn't make a huge difference.

      @@bilbo8338 I don't think its make a big difference. I am usually the one who cleans inside mom's microwave.. it's not difficult to clean .. it is a coated surface... So it's takes cleaning even with cotton and rubbing alcohol well ..

    A nice comparison of solo microwave ovens. I have the Panasonic microwave since two years and I find the steam vegetables feature in the auto cook menu the most used in my cooking. From soft veggies to veggies like ridge gourd, pumpkin etc are steamed perfectly and all in a covered glass container and 60ml of water. The auto clean function is called vapour steam and I use it from time to time. They provide a recipe book but other than that I generally refer to tarla dalal, nita mehta or sanjeev kapoor's microwave ebooks. Regarding output wattage, I might be wrong but I feel it is relative to capacity of the oven. I am telling this is because when I microwave act 2 microwave popcorn at their mentioned time I have to time to 30 seconds less. Otherwise it gets burned. The auto defrost menu has settings suitable for vegetarians like dairy and frozen vegetables (though I directly cook frozen veggies).

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sreelakshmi! Thanks for sharing! I’ve only recently started steaming veggies in the microwave - love it! For cleaning - Mine does not have the auto clean but essentially just boiling water for 3-4 min lets out enough vapour to clean it out quite well! Been following that for a bit. Regrding wattage - yes higher capacity have higher wattage, but there are few lower capacity ones also with mac wattage similar to the higher capacity ones - so those will be more efficient. You are right about the act ii - that will be set up for a lower wattage.

    great comparison!!! saw ur other videos too found the fairly good but like I do have a Solo Microwave from Kenwood and know am thinking to buy an OTG. Since we have more more consumption due to large family and get togethers frequently so thinking for large capacity of oven (52-60L). I am actually confused between 3 options morphy richards 52 rcss, morphy richards 60 rcss & borosil - prima 60 liters otg. In morphy richards 52 rcss the max temp. is 230c. In morphy richards 60 rcss it doesnot have rotating kebab sticks and height is shorter. In borosil - prima 60 liters is having 3 cooking rackes & moreover dicey about borosil brand as it got lesser reviews . These are the reasons why i am unsure about this and found u are the right person to suggest 🙏🙏🙏. If u have ANY other better option plz tell.

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Manjot - the Morphy Richards amzn.to/301fL2Y does have a rotisserie but like you rightly said height is lower for multi level cooking. It can only support single level. Borosil prima amzn.to/3CUBZl7 may be a better option if you do want multi level cooking. For most of these - although the temperature supported is upto 250 - realistically it is recorded to be lower. Alternatively - if you do have the provision for it and are an avid frequent baker - you could go for an integrated oven amzn.to/3qhg1oU

    Great comparison like always. But my buying decisions till date have been based more on my brand loyalties and my perception of product reliability more than the features.
    Also, I always do my appliance buying from showrooms where I have good and longstanding relations. I am pretty jittery to purchase online most of the time.
    Another thing is , no matter how good a product any Chinese brand offers, the poor image regarding their quality always haunts me.
    How do you deal with that?

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi CK! I was like that.. When I bought my products last time - everything was Samsung. But when I refreshed recently - I took what was best for my usecase - hence now I have a mix of everything!
      Faber, Samsung, Kaff, Elica, Vu and Haier (just got a new fridge too!). And almost ALL my equipment is bought online. Touch wood - have not had much of an issue yet.
      Regarding the Chinese brands - the way I look at it is - I'm getting it at 1/3rd the price. So if it lasts more than 1/3rd of the life that I expect from the big brands - that's value for money. For example - when I bought my Vu tv, the Sony and Samsungs of the world were over 3L for the size I was looking for. It's already lasted me over 4 years now. So every additional year - I'm actually benefitting :D
      The problem occurs when we start approaching lower cost products with the same lens as the more expensive products!
