love these sisters. two great lps, great songs, great fun and amazing harmonies. had the pleasure of seeing them perform live twice now, and on both occassions they were just brilliant. what sounds great on a recording is so much more powerful when you hear them do it live. these girls are the real deal, writers, performers, musicians and above all else singers, each has a good voice and can carry a song, but when they sing harmonies togeher the hairs on the back of your neck stand up..Amazing
Woke up this morning randomly singing this, and yes, I’m a former Marshalls employee. This song, “Dearly Beloved” “The Ballad of the Undecided” and “Headed in the Right Direction”, plus so many others all bring back so many memories.
My mind is troubled these days, I don't know what to say, 'Bout all the crazy things that I have done, I don't know what I'm looking for, but I know this for sure, That I'm the only one not having fun. I got my teeth white, and my jeans tight. I got my hair long, and it's still wrong. And I wanna know, when I can stop, taking it slow, 'cause I've had enough. I don't know what to expect, I feel a disconnect, And in all my years I've never felt so young, I'm not gonna break my back, work until my bones crack, If i'm the only one not having fun (ooh). Oo, ooooh. I've got my hair long, and it's still wrong. And I wanna know, when I can stop, taking it slow, 'cause I've had enough. Ohh-oh, ohh-oh, ohh Stop asking me why, I won't take the things you give me, Ohh-oh, ohh-oh, ohh I'm not gonna smile, when you shake my hand and tell me you're not happy with me (ohhh-ooo). I got my teeth white, and my jeans tight. I got my hair long, and it's still wrong. And I wanna know, when I can stop, taking it slow, 'cause I've had enough, I wanna know, when I can, stop.
“It’s is a song about feeling like no matter what you do, it’s never good enough. It’s really a song about the frustration of being held back and not being free.”
Organicis Theway You're in for a treat! Their first album 'Dead and Born and Grown' is incredible too. If you like this track I think you'll like 'Pay us no mind' and 'In the long run'.
This is weird. I just bought the new First Aid Kit and then I was recommended The Staves which sounds very much similar what FAK has been doing since 2012's The Lion's Roar (they had made an EP and their debut album before that but they were much raw-sounding). Not that it is a bad thing. I really love this kind of folk music. :)
Reijo P. It was opposite for me. I found about First Aid Kit from The Staves Facebook page where they were announcing that the staves nd FAK are touring together

Thank you Lori, kind of you to respond to my question. Yes I could have gone on an online research mission, but I am a bit old fashioned and I thought it would be nice to ask somebody who knows more than I do about a topic and them answer questions - and maybe give me some useful information for further viewing, like you took the trouble to. I realise these are dangerously antiquated notions of humanity.... (laugh) Nice record though, properly good. One of those where you KNOW you have got it right when you write it. As george michael reminded us, if you are going to do it, do it right, right?
Notice in 'Up Next' the girls have done some Springsteen stuff, I would LOVE to hear them arrange his cover of Santa Claus is Coming to Town, it was a really sweet (in the old sense) cover that he did, and I reckon they could nail that tune. Have a listen anybody who doesn't know the Bruce version, real class.
They strike me as people who are extraordinarily versatile if they put their minds to it, they would be equally at home performing stateside with Alison Krauss or back home with a more olde worlde English folk singer like Kate Rusby. I imagine these super talented ladies will end up writing and producing for younger artists in the fullness of time, who knows what label people will apply to it. We have kind of ditched public support for learning classical instruments in the UK, I will bet my last penny that Staves started off at school learning violin or piano or something, sets you up for amps, guitars, DAT machines, Technics 1210s and all the rest... Profoundly grateful to my music theory teacher and to my parents and grandparents for getting me started in music, couldn't have done it without excellent people and financial support.
what an awesome song, i love this

La Blogothèque never disappoints.
Saw these last night supporting Florence and the Machine! They are absolutely brilliant singers!
My all time favorite of yours. I really hear Crosby, Stills and Nash in that chorus. I love it.
This is brilliant on so many levels
you guys were incredible performing as the opening act for Florence and the Machine in Dublin♥
shared this on the Facebook page of 10:11 PM - The power of music!

+maria fernanda I thought it was about brushing your teeth?!
My favorite song. Always reminds me of a dear dear friend that I'll never forget.
I just discovered these three amazing young women from the documentary Austin to Boston. Their voices harmonize so very well. I love them!!

I heard this song yesterday in a Marshalls and I really liked it so I searched up part of the lyrics to find the song and here I am
I work at a Marshalls, I'm glad you like it because me and my coworkers hate it to death
@@121597Luke my co worker and I looked it up specifically because it’s the worst song that plays here
I’m the co worker. I hate this song with a burning passion.

Loved the song and the video :)
Great song
They were amazing yesterday in Birmingham
Wow how good are these girls have to go see them live
❤
Do not know who mixed or produced the record, but that intro is a quality piece of work, nice transition. Two thumbs good
Justin Vernon of Bon Iver produced the album. There's a killer mini-doc titled "If I Was" that documents it. Well worth the view.

Wow ... Super ! ! !
looks like they had this idea for the video after seeing what it was like to tour the US. ohhhhhh
Muito lindo! Tenho acompanhado a banda desde que assisti ao filme "Austin To Boston". Som maravilhoso! Venham ao Brasil!!!!! Por favor! :)
Adilson Badaro Se elas vierem ao Brasil, eu com certeza não perderei o show. São três irmãs com um talento sensacional e músicas incríveis.
I love you girls. Come to Victoria, Canada.
I LOVE IT
nobody cares
Yash! New song!
I was just about to say, where have they been?
My life at Open Mics... hahah
😍
Con loro i the Staves, c’era anche Keira Knightley?
I laughed so hard at this video.
👌
anyone else think the pink waitress was jess at first glance?
I hear this song about 3x a day, 4 days a week. Needless to say, I hate this song.
