@@dts7824 I guess the obvious retort is, how many timeless classics, covered by a wide variety of well known artists, do you know written by 16 year olds? If it wasn't unusual, there'd be lots of them.

I can listen to this song over and over for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. When I'm out working it's in my head. These women are incredible. I would love one day tickets shake their hands and talk about music with them
Not bad at all. My favourite cover of this song is Glen Campbell's, he really provided a fresh take on this classic by slightly revising the melody as well as the intonation of various words and phrases, which ultimately results in the track having a deeper, somber feel to it.
A pure combination of angelic soothing voices and a beautiful selection of well plucked notes creating a fresh, uplifting and original feel. what an achievement. x
You know a performance is beyond great when even the artists themselves give each other a look and throw in a little smile like they're giving each other a compliment for a job well done. Love these ladies so much!
this is sooo good! i'm beyond happy to find a clear recording of their cover after hearing them sing this live at the troubadour! thank you very much for uploading :).

Stunningly beautiful music and performance. I got obsessed with this song for about 3 weeks after finding it on a Spotify playlist about 3 years ago. Now I have it back again with this excellent rendition. Thank you.
Catherine Jacoby Catherine Jacoby I almost wrote it off when I heard the first voice in falsetto.. whoa, I am so fucking impressed! Yes, Nico is smiling down AND Jackson Browne!..... Lovely performance gals!!!
Vocal harmony talent wise, one can only think of 'the Lennon sisters. There's also the added bonus of flawless beauty and a vibe grounded in Joni, Neil and Bon.
I was listening to Hello Again by Bridget St John and thought here's a forgotten song that deserves the Staves treatment. Jess could do justice to the guitar and for once Emily could take the lead - it would need her lovely low pitched voice. At any rate, more Emily please!
Tahiti Slim because it was recorded using an omni microphone on the vocals and a single cardioid microphone on the guitar. How would you present this in stereo?
“Please don’t confront me with my failures

❤️
I showed my friend this cover and that part hit him hard lol
😊O😊😊😊😊😊😊@@StephenNapurano
It amazes me that Jackson Browne wrote this at the age of 16.
How come?
@@mikeyb4344 Why doesn't it amaze you? You don't see anything special about that?
@@mikeyb4344 what sort of profound “failures” does a sixteen year old have that compels him to write such a song? It’s incredible

Tapped on this thinking it might be a cover of the Joy Division song.
Unlikely as that may seem.
The guitarist, fallen for her a thousand times.
These are my favorite Staves performances. These studio sessions with great acoustics.
I've been out walking
I don't do too much talking these days
These days
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do
And all the times I had
A chance to
I've stopped my rambling
I don't do too much gambling these days
These days
These days I seem to think about
How all these changes came about my ways
And I wonder if I'd see another
Highway
I had a lover
I don't think I'd risk another these days
These days
And if I seem to be afraid
To live the life that I have made in song
It's just that I've been losing
So long
La, la, la, la, la

I've stopped my dreaming
I won't do too much scheming these days
These days
These days I sit on cornerstones

Dear Jackson, Get the ladies on stage with you soon.
I can listen to this song over and over for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. When I'm out working it's in my head. These women are incredible. I would love one day tickets shake their hands and talk about music with them
Me too, this is beautifully melancholic. I'd like this played at my funeral.
I probably listen to this version most days. I think I might like it to be played at my funeral service.
Guitarist is a honey

Maravillosa interpretación. Me quedo con ésta, sin dudarlo. Gracias The Staves.

They just seem like the sweetest girls! Celebrate.
I bought a Peluso mic because of these clips, and discovered this group, which has since become one of my very favourite. Win win.

Well, I've been out walking
I don't do that much talking these days
These days
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do for you
And all the times I had the chance to
And I had a lover
But it's so hard to risk another, these days
These days
Now, if I seem to be afraid
To live the life that I have made in song
Well, it's just that I've been losin' for so long
Well, I'll keep on movin', movin' on
Things are bound to be improving these days
One of these days
These days I'll sit on corner stones
And count the time in quarter tones to ten, my friend
Don't confront me with my failures
I had not forgotten them
Excellent cover. And right at 0:35 the listener is hit by how great their voices sound together with spot-on harmony.
Solid
perfect combination of artist and song.
Flawless!
The first time that I ever heard this song is when it was so perfectly placed in The Royal Tennenbaums. What a great song.
Fantastic cover!
