It's nice to see another game that remembers Spas 12 has two fire modes. But overall most of the animation are...useless or incorrect (and even both). For example, when you reload the Spas in semiauto mode you can't load the first shot with the pump action, the charging handle exist for this. Why changing every time the fire mode when reloading?

It's not impossible, since you can switch modes back to pump for the last shot, but the entire empty chamber reload procedure is completely unnecessary. What you should do is drop a shell into the ejection port, chamber it, and then load the tube. What the guy does instead is let the action forward once it locks back, then load the tube, then manually pump it to chamber. It's not technically impossible to do on the SPAS-12, but it's probably the single dumbest way to load a shotgun. The two fire modes was handled accurately, though, which was nice. Not only does the guy push the button at the bottom of the pump grip to move between semi-auto and pump, but the position of the grip is also in the accurate places (rear is pump, forward is semi-auto). So props there. The sounds are also good, since you only hear the gunshot in pump, but you hear the bolt cycling in semi-auto (which is where that "ping" sound comes from). So, overall mixed. The mode switching and sound effects are spot on, but the empty reload animation is stupid and I really don't like the "laywer and Commiefornia law"-friendly redesign of the model. Like it doesn't even look like a SPAS-12 anymore, it looks more like some Turkish knockoff of a SPAS-12.
I remember the same firing sound animation that's similar to Far Cry 6, the spas shotgun. Btw, black ops 1 has the satisfying reload and black ops 2 has the crispy 🤌 reload animation.

The original MW2 version is still the most iconic incarnation of the gun outside of the BO1 version to me. It’s sound, the smoke and sparks, the balancing, the animations… it had amazing game feel
That empty reload, while not technically impossible, is extremely stupid. Standard operating procedure is to drop the shell into the ejection port and chamber it, so you have at least one shell ready to go while you top off the tube. Closing the action, loading the tube, and then cycling to chamber is just inefficient. Modern Warfare 2 Remastered still has the most accurate reload out of all the Call of Duty games, though I think Cold War has the best looking model. Modern Warfare III 2023 does get some brownie points from me for actually showing how the mode switching works (and even has the pump in the right position for semi-auto and pump) but even in semi-auto, the guy switches back to pump again anyways just to repeat that stupid empty reload procedure. I almost prefer them just doing the Cold War method of not acknowledging chambering at all if that's what they're gonna do with it.
Considering that absolutely everything about the way this gun is operated in MW III is wrong, the MW2 Remastered version is still by far the most accurate representation.
I do like BOCW's reload animation of the Spas, since it feels a bit more realistic, but the fact the operator doesn't pull the charging handle back to insert the first round when doing a full reload cycle kinda irks me. It makes sense for the operator to not pull it back after putting a few shells in while a live round is in the chamber, but when the chamber has nothing in it?
Seeing reclaimer being it's own thing in mw3 I can understand you could just press a button here but the rest were supposed to be replicas of irl spas12 so idk why the rest exept bocw were innacurate in reloading
I thought about doing it in release order yes, but I prefered showing the new version first and then every other CoD that has a SPAS-12. Also, the Rampart from BO4 is not a SPAS, it's actually closer to a Striker (notice the detachable mag), but I did believe it was a SPAS before making this video.
I'm usually a fan of the complex reloads but the MWIII spas is super excessive (empty reload, half full is fine). I like the cold war reload, flashy but not too excessive although the BO1 sounds the best.
Only difference being the empty reload all else is reused sadly but at least the mw3 reclaimer has loads 2 shells at a time which makes it unique in a way
I really like the mw3 SPAS 12’s “Dual mode” meaning the gun can use both pump action and semi auto, I rarely see games that show this feature and while I agree that the animations are on the ass side, it’s a cool shotty
It's not a surprise if true tbh. Tha SVA 545 has the same animations as the Kastov 545 for example. Maybe SHG doesn't have the same animation talent as IW.
