Tire Problems on Crale Creek Road

Mac and Steve head up Crale Creek Road on another volunteer mission for Friends of Fall Creek Watershed - FOFCW.org. We've scouted out a few illegally dumped tires and want to get them out out of the woods. We've got a 18' dump trailer...can we fill the whole thing up? What else might we find?

Thanks for what you do. The Mrs and I go out walking for exercise most mornings. We started picking up trash and are up to 55 bags of trash this year! It’s amazing how much people just throw out their windows or dump!

It's too expensive to legally dispose of tires, so they toss them in the forest.

Exactly! We really need a can't say no policy at our transfer stations and more free events to collect tires before they get dumped.

I tried a small battery powered pump once...it filled up with dirt and quit. We even tried shooting holes in the tires...

It's terrible. We really need better policies to help prevent this...not just better enforcement... but free tire disposal at our landfills. Thanks for watching!

just wanted to say thanks...it's just sad how people are, not all people though....like you folks, some folks just throw there trash in the forest, other folks have the heart to get it out.

Agreed. And the time to monitor all of them. And the authorities need to be willing to prosecute based on the footage or it's a waste of time.
