Coffee, plants, and the ever familiar “Hey guys, how’s it going.” Given the ever changing and chaos that social media seems to make feel constant, it’s lovely to have this joyful, kind, and plant-filled corner of the internet to start the day and listen to while I get going for the day. Have a blessed day Garden Answer peeps (and Lauren, Aaron, Benjamin, and Samantha) 🥰

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA When Laura reached the end of the bench where the fig and maple were, I thought “oh that’s it for this video!” Then I heard Laura said “…and on the OTHER side we have….”It’s like discovering a whole new season of Netflix show after you thought was the finale. Thanks Laura, I know your inspiration goes beyond the gardening community. Gardening is so good for the soul, it makes you believe in tomorrow, and all the hard work you put out not knowing what will come from them, but the faith and hope we instill in ourselves through the act of growing something is way more impactful than the plants themselves. You need to take a moment and just feel proud for what you and Aaron have accomplished.

Thanks so much for showing your “real life” patio furniture storage solution!! I often feel I’m failing because of the unwieldy state of my home/garage/garden. But it is helpful to see that life affects us all & sometimes we have to be creative with the space we have. -My hometown pastor used to quote Proverbs (14:4) “Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.” So I guess when we consider the abundance of our harvest and all the other things we achieve, it makes sense that the space around us isn’t always picture perfect. And it’s worth it. 😊

Laura i have been enjoying your content for a couple years now. It has always called to mind my early days in my career that started at a greenhouse and garden center. I loved that job. Even still I went on in the direction of floral design. But now you have inspired me so much that I have made the decision after 25 years in floral to return to the greenhouse environment. I am so grateful & excited to get 'back to my roots'! Heres to playing in the dirt again! Thanks for your continued inspired content! All the best to you and your beautiful family! ♡

I love when Laura miss pronounces some of the plant names! It makes her feel more relatable to me, lol! There are sooo many weird ass names for plants and they are all spelled crazy! And then don’t even get me started on a plants real name, I think it’s Latin or something like that, but they are super hard words to spell and pronounce. I have the hardest time spelling and trying to pronounce all of the names. You gotta give her credit though, Laura has so many plants names to remember and most of the time, she spits them out like a boss!

This might be a basic level question, but you learn by asking :) Can you speak to the light requirements of the seedlings in the greenhouse vs. seedlings under grow lights. If your grow lights need to be close to the seedlings to prevent leggy growth, what prevents leggy growth in the greenhouse?

The seeds from Australia did no come from me, the Sturt Desert Pea plants hate to have there roots disturbed and only like to be watered from underneath. They are so suited to your environment as the only difference between where they grow in Australia and your climate is, our summers get hotter and your winters are colder, we don’t have the snow. Good luck with your seeds.

Underwatering them prevents a lot of diseases, before I moved house I never watered mine very often. This was because the area it was planted in the ground was well worked, so kept the plant roots moist but not wet. I also used to just run a slow hose (never had a drip system in) near it twice a week in the heat of the summer. Only once a month in the winter if no rain.

👋🏻 Good morning! Great to see all the seedlings popping up! It’s probably more visual on the video than in person, but the yellowing is due to the uneven table tops that the trays are sitting on. You can see it pretty good with the snapdragons. At 21:12 you can see where the water pools in the tray is where it’s most yellow. Hope this helps, have a great day!

Laura that was a fab 40 minutes to spend with you. I’ve done a face mask, painted my nails and given myself a facial all whilst listening to your talk .. Sunday night done right in my opinion. Now I have a list of things to be getting on with in my own greenhouse tomorrow. Thank you x

I find it reassuring when you point out both successes and failures, as I have trouble growing lavender from seed, for example. These videos remind me to do some fertilizing and point out when it is time to pot up a tray of seedlings also. This is my first year with a small hobby greenhouse and I have been pleased with results so far, but there is always room for improvement! Thanks for doing such a great job of showing us techniques as well as sharing your enthusiam with us! Now if I just had the amount of space for more trays that you do.....

Good morning! I will be separating seedlings today, hardest thing for me to watch was the cutting back of the columbine...lol. Over here, mid atlantic, i had to cover my citrus trees last night, and probably tonight also, cold snap coming through. But it is whacky spring weather. But I LOVE SPRING. Happy growing plants y'all!

I needed this update! My Victoria blue salvia did the exact same thing, I was so bummed. I was planning on sharing those with a friend, but they are all mine now! 😜. I am fairly new to seed starting and it is nice to see that a lot of my seedlings look like yours, gives me hope that I’m doing thinks right. Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us and teach us. My garden adventure has become so much more inspired and I have learned so much from watching you the last few years. ❤️💜💛💙💚💖

I had amazing luck with lavender starting seeds in the water jug Method. All of them came up strong. I planted 5 seeds per jug. It was so exciting since I’d like to plant a hedge of them it is such a cost effective way too

If you like the dose caps on Espoma's liquid fertilizers, hang onto them! I emailed the company when I noticed my local garden centers selling them with a different cap, and they said they've discontinued the dose caps because people found them confusing. Huge bummer because it's so much easier and cleaner to use. Luckily the thread is the same, so I just transfer the dose caps onto the new bottle.

I didn’t see your Lisianthus. Did I miss them? I was curious how yours are doing. I planted some in January and they are still so tiny! Wondering when they will start showing growth. So excited for them!

I also planted some in Jan and they are still very small too. They were the same last year, but then really started to grow when I transplanted outside in the later spring (I'm in Minnesota) and flowered beautifully. I'm sure yours are fine, they just stay small for a very long time.

What a refreshing morning to wake up to some much needed rain, my coffee and Laura. Laura you are such an inspiration. I look so forward to your videos everyday. I needed the motivation to get out and thin some of my starts. Of course seeing sweet Benjamin helping his mom was icing on the cake.

Speaking of berries, did you pull the runners from the raspberry beds? I was so interested to see that they do that with such vigor only a year after being planted in those beds 👌🏼

Last Thursday we had the same type of weather in Minnesota. It would be white out conditions then sunny and snow...so weird. It has snowed, rained and been sleeting every day since. Soon we will be able to plant but in the mean time, I enjoy your videos! Thank you for doing what you do!

How did I not know there was such a thing as double columbine? That’s incredible! There’s such a lot going on in your greenhouse. I’m overwhelmed just looking at it. But I’ll happily watch you do all the work.😂 ( I didn’t mean that to sound as rude as it came out). Thanks for the video today. I like the longer ones!!! 💚💚💚

Laura, this was a delicious video! Because of you, I'm now growing flowers from seed. I'm still very much an amateur but I've had some successes that are encouraging me to keep going! I'm also giving myself grace with the "failures." It's so cool to see how robust your seedings are. I appreciate learning about how and when you fertilize the seedings. Oh, and the ranunculus I learned how to pre-sprout from you came up! I have some beautiful yellow and pink ranunculus now :-)

My Cherokee Sunset looks the same as Laura’s, so I don’t feel too bad. This is the second year starting it for me, with the same results both years!🤷🏻‍♀️ bought the seed from Johnnys too. I’m happy with a couple plants. Such a pretty cut flower, once I figured out the correct time to cut them🤦🏻‍♀️
