I retired in California and 3 weeks later my landlord said she was gonna double my rent. So I moved to Tx and bought a small home for $23k cash. Best thing ever happened to me. Now I have no rent no mortgage no debt no bills.

I became a dad at 45 and its the greatest thing that has ever happened to me in my life. One word of advice I give to any Mature Dad, is to start working out! When I weighed 340 lbs., I was constantantly asked if I was my son's grandfather, and I struggled to keep up with him. I also wanted to be around for as long as possible to raise my son and be a good husband, and I lost the weight and I work out religiously, and it's become a healthy father/son activity as well.

Great interview Mark! This guy’s background is very interesting but you also challenged him because it became apparent he has not completely thought out his game plan for the Philippines. He may be infatuated by a beautiful Filipina at the moment but your questions to him have probably got him thinking more now about how to best make everything work out. Your probing questions were actually for his own good.

Persians are not Arab. Persians are related to Armenians, Georgians and the southern European race. They are the original Aryan race. Aryan means Iran. Fyi richest people in LA are the Persians. Also a lot of them are Christians.

Zoroasterianism is the Iranian religious belief and one of the oldest faith beliefs since Achaemenid Empire 1000 BC or 3000 years ago. One of the three earliest human civilization with Mesopotamia and Egypt. Until the Arab conquest in 7th century A.D. that many were now converted to Shiite beliefs. Highly educated and one of the most beautiful people, welcoming and tolerant with different religious beliefs settled in that country until politics went into chaos. It’s sad it became a theocratic country. Sharing info as too many negative perception about Iran.

Interesting interview . Keep in mind when we say government pays that means tax payers pay. California housing prices have gotten out of control . Wonder where things are headed for California. Tough to be a landlord/ owner in a place like CA. Agree with him about having patience and doing things right , wise words !

Mark, very interesting this one was. There were moments where I felt intrigued by his story but also got the sense he was also a little full of himself. The 19year old, having a child before getting married, or making the hard decision to move on if it can’t happen, and the prenup.
Different strokes for different folks. Thanks again!

I agree, USA have changed for the worst. However, there are more opportunities here than any country in the World. But crimes and open borders and politics are the problem. In addition drugs, homelessness are the worst. Seniors cannot afford to live in Blue States like California etc.

If he has enough rental income, he can hire property managers to do everything. No need to go back.

Isn’t he interested in marring an Iranian girl? They would understand each other better being from the same culture and the girls are very beautiful and intelligent there.

I remember back in the seventies, on the first day of seventh grade in Marin County, California, I arrived at school and saw a line of limousines dropping off kids. As it was a public school, we had never seen this before. It turns out that the kids were Persians that had just immigrated after the fall of the Shaw. The parents didn't know any better, so they did what they had always done in Iran. Over time, they all adapted very well to the environment. I remember the kids being super friendly and polite.

Seems like he’s letting the tail wag the dog…pun intended. He’s talking about getting married, buying a condo, having a child and this is the first girlfriend he’s had since arriving. I listen to you guys caution your subscribers against all of that. He hasn’t been there long enough to know if he can tolerate the culture And the Philippine ways. I think he may be using the wrong head to make his decisions. Otherwise he’s a very bright fellow and should have a good future and be a good catch.
