    I love my clawfoot tub, but had to be creative, in how to utilize shelving, and have easy access to a towel rack, right off the back of the tub. Now I can shave , dry off, everything, without ever having to step out of the tub, no mess, easy.

    I think that the clothes hooks needed to be relocated first, Richard.

      They are mounted on a strong piece of lumber. If you removed that, there's no guarantee there'd be a stud behind it right where you wanted it.

    0:25 Use a crescent wrench so you won't mar the finish of the paint on the chrome...

      I immediately thought if someone painted the chrome I don't think they care about maring the nut

      that's an adjustable wrench
      Crescent is just one manufacturer

      @@walterbrunswick Nope, no other manufacturers wrench will work, only Cresent.

    Can you please tell me where did you purchase all the parts to the shower assembly, i want the same thing, just in polished chrome

    • @seamswright
      @seamswright ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you ever find out where to buy that particular assembly? The one I have from signature hardware has a pressure washer that keeps leaking I’d like something that screws in instead

    Having a roof like that in your bathroom is a pain. My tub runs with the pitch of the roof so it's almost impossible for a shower.

    Where can you find this tub/shower assembly? I haven't had any luck with my local stores.

      Check out your local Lowe's store. Mine had 7 different options, including this style, when I was needing one. The Lowe's website had more options on styles that you may even find more appealing. The ship to store option was free.

    4:50 I don't know, there's just something about seeing a plumber with a hammer that looks unnatural.

    • @jdahighroller9389
      @jdahighroller9389 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      plumbings part of general construction so we are gonna have basic tools like that lol. I dont like to use them either and it aint part of my small tool bag but remember most pipes are below the floor or in a wall... a hammers a good way to get to it quick

    Wouldn't you tile the the walls around the shower? Aren't you afraid of moisture/mold growth?

    i really don't understand why he's putting the support on the....coat rack?

    • @missireason8998
      @missireason8998 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The coat rack gives for extra support, beyond the wall, to hold the weight of the pipe, without ruining the finish or pulling down the structure of the wall.
      OR it could have been requested by the owner, and whatever the owner wants, the owner gets. Owners have been known to request off things for their own reasons.
      The coat rack is often used to hang towels in bathrooms, such as this one, since there are no cabinets and closets.

    Hi there! I have the exact same faucet and I was thinking of just adding a pipe riser and a showerhead and eliminate the hand shower. Is this possible by just unscrewing the hand shower and adding the riser pipe and the showerhead? thanks!!

    I've got almost the same thing, except it doesn't have all the extra braces.

      I'm in Canada and I looked it at the Canadian Tire.ca site and just the 2 halves of the hoop and 2 braces is $ 500 CDN, about $ 350 USD. But because I'm Disabled and it extremely hard to climb in and out of the tub, my landlord has promised a shower stall once the pandemic is over.

    I have a claw foot tub, but there isn't a wall behind the faucets. It sits next to the wall, and the toilet is located past the faucet end of the tub. I also have plaster walls and probably a plaster ceiling behind the cardboard tiles. I also don't have shut off valves on my tub. So if I were to shut the main off, then run into problems, I wouldn't be able to turn the water to the whole house back on until I could get a plumber to come out and fix it.
    When I mentioned wanting to have shut off valves on my tub, my friend was like, "Oh that's easy, just shut the water off, saw off the pipes, fit the valve, solder it into place..." Yeah, and when something goes wrong I'm screwed.

    There's your new shower and now you need a new tile or two where the pipe I cut fell and chipped them.
