    Please check back soon to see if they are taking the feed from the pool. Thanks

      They should. Not sure why they wouldn’t. It is a ways from my house so it meat be a little while before I get back down there

    Why are you feeding sugar water and is it 1 to 1?

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes basically 1:1 but not exact. Probably a little thicker than that. I am feeding them because we are in a dearth right now.

    Maybe you could put an outlet before the pump to get feed out without running your pump. Just for smaller amounts?

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a good idea. Or maybe just hook up a hose directly to the tank for that purpose. I was actually thinking about that yesterday. Thanks!

    Hint/suggestion, Cut pool noodles you get like from dollar store in half and set in kiddie pool or open feeder. works good. Cut small pieces to set between and like wire all together. will float and number of dead bee in the end in few

    I don't know if it's possible in your area but try to find a source for sucrose with that set set up it would save you even more time and I believe it's a better feed made a difference for me

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you speak of sucrose what do you mean?

    • @frankmachado
      @frankmachado 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brucesbees we use liquid sucrose to feed its uses for candy making the company is called sweetener products I believe they are nation wide they have sales reps that handle just beekeepers it comes cheaper and it's a great feed

      Frank Machado is it the same thing as high fructose con syrup?

    • @frankmachado
      @frankmachado 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brucesbees no it's not fructose corn syrup that not good for the bees

    Bruce, it looks like you and Rusty put together a back saver at a very reasonable cost! Great idea! I hope the folks that owns the watermelons sees a big increase in production from you bees. We know how they work!

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I think so. The farmer is a friend of Rusty’s and was pleased with the work the bees did.

    Nice setup. May I suggest some quick couples. Farmers use them all the time when they spray their crops. Not that expensive and great time saver. You could uncouple and tie your engine down and then 20 seconds later you are reattached. It is hot here in MN also with low 90's and high humidity. Sure saps the spark out of a person in a short time. AC is a lifesaver.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will have to look into that. It actually only takes a couple of minutes to hook it up now but anything to help would be nice.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And yes. The heat and humidity is an absolute energy killer.

    let us know if the sugar settles out if you leave it sit for a time.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok. I doubt if it will settle out. It was mixed up really well. I probably mixed it longer than I needed to.

    Love how your tank mixer performed! Looks like a timesaver for sure. Thanks for the update.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think it is really going to help. Can just drive from location to location and quickly fill up the containers onsite. Whether it be kiddie pools, five gallon buckets, gallon buckets, small totes or even quart jars, it should work just fine. Kind of like using a water hose. Will hold up to 270 gallons, probably more than I will ever need at a time. Thanks for checking in.
