- Chevrolet is known for its trucks, cars, and SUVs, but lately, the Internet has been getting to know a new addition to the Chevy family: a cat named Walter.
The first Chevy Walter commercial debuted in summer 2021, flipping the script on the typical "man's best friend" story by introducing an outdoorsman and his hyper-capable, practically dog-like cat.
After a brief cameo in a Chris Pratt-led Chevy commercial for the Silverado ZR2 in September 2021, Walter is back in the spotlight with a new spot for the 2022 Chevy Silverado. Whether you're into trucks or cats, you may want to know why the Internet is going wild over Chevy's "Walter The Cat."

Walter, is an excellent spokescat for Chevy. Cats have a lot more personality that we give them credit for.

I love the Walter the cat and Chevy add. After the 1st time I saw it I told everyone I knew to watch it. Everytime I watch I laugh, so it's a real feel good commercial.

My neighbor had a cat like I've never seen in 50 yrs. Was friendly like a dog and used to like playing with the kids and their toboggans on the hill in winter...had to see it to believe it.
I had an orange tabby just like Walter..Lived to be almost 19 years old.

I use to know a male black cat named Spades ( Ace of Spades was his registered name) who would play and wrestle on the floor like a big dog- claws retracted - and not bite or claw u- he also chased a tennis ball and brought it back for u to toss again lol- he was the biggest cat I've ever seen at 14" at the shoulder and 40pounds ( muscle not fat ) and looked like a black Panther except for the small white blaze on his chest

Yes he is! I have a cat that acts similar to a dog, he even attacks the dogs and dogs are afraid of him.
I thought about that, too! I love this commercial, but not because Walter is doing "dog" things, but because he's doing unusual things for most pets. :) I've had dogs and cats in the past and the commercials make me want to get another. The only commercial on air that I like. I only watch network for football games, unless it's Fox, ESPN and NFL network where I record them on Sling (yep, to avoid commercials). The Limu Emu occasionally has a funny one but all the rest are absolute trash.

As a cat owner whose feline walks on a leash, leaps on rocks, climbs a rhododendron, fetches plastic balls, and barrels full speed through a crinkle tunnel, I love commercials that celebrates man’s “other” best friend.

Love Walter the cat! Hope all the Walter's are cared for better then Grumpy Cat who had a severe bladder/kidney infection for many years and in alot of pain making him appear so grumpy. They didn't notice while busy cashing in until it was too late when he died. RIP Grumpy Cat 😾 🙏

Walter is like my finn. Tends to act more of a dog than a cat. Loves being in the snow. He even goes cross country and downhill skiing with me. Have a modified backpack for him to be on my chest
