Hey everyone, sorry for not explaining exactly why I get so lightheaded in the standing frame. What happens when I stand up is all my blood pools at my feet and in my legs since I'm not able to contract my muscles. Without the blood flow making it to my head I get really lightheaded and will faint unless I lower myself and make it easier for blood to make its way back up. Hope that clears things up a bit! -Cole
Hello, I'm so touched by this video of the two of you. Seeing Cole standing overwhelms me. Can we ever hope to see him walk again? I had heard about 2 years ago, according to an American study published by Nature Medicine, that a group of researchers had found something incredible, it was a world premiere that was a major milestone for research in this field. Indeed, it was an electrode in the spinal column that allowed a paraplegic to walk again . Surely you are aware of this? Why not, one must always hope! In school (I'm an RMT) I remember referring to the soleus (calf muscle) as the hearts little helper:) Would compression socks help? It is VERY cool to see you standing Cole. You are so tall!

I love watching you guys because my eldest sister was quadriplegic after a car accident breaking her neck at c5/c6. All you are explaining I totally get because it was my sisters story but she didnt have the will to live..fight hard was we did she passed a year later...so when I see you live life and accept to live....my day is always made....more grace to you both ...cheers

DodgedABullet No I’m my family is Indian lol. I guess my context is more like the “evil eye”. If people envy you in anyway, the thing can be taken away from you, even if they don’t have bad intentions. It’s just a joke though lol, since so many TH-cam couples break up after exploiting their relationship. But also I work in a rehab and I’ve seen plenty of couples like that have nothing but genuine care and love for each other. So it goes both ways..

I discovered them 2 weeks ago and basically that’s all I watch at 80 percent. They are amazingly exceptional. Cole has someone that truly loves him and vice versa. By the grace of God he will walk again

Trust me... there is a lot of that. My brother became a quad after a rollover accident when he was 17.... some people would say... "why are you in a wheelchair?..you are too young for that." ...or "if you would just get up and excercise, your feeling will come back...no 17 yr old ends up like that..... we heard that all the time. Once, a few years ago, I took him to the mall.... an employee at a gaming store stopped us and told use to leave... he assumes we were just some punk kids playing with a wheelchair and trying to hide merchandise under the chair or use my brother as a sympathetic thing.. the employee said word for word... "I'm not buying the handicapped thing...hes acting far too happy." .... 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Unfortunately my brother passed in 2016. From an infection his doctors ignored. 😖😭 fortunately, his fiance at the time of the accident was pregnant... so we carring on his legacy with his daughter. We are blessed to have her!!! Thank you for your kind words!

I’m a nurse, I work in the ICU and most people, like 90%, have no idea what the real definition of conditions are but they think they do bcuz of what they’ve seen on TV or read on WebMD. And usually the expectation far exceeds the reality no matter the condition/outcome good or bad.

It shocked me how often it happens to quads on social media. One woman in particular(@uwalk_iglide) gets this on tik tock. Literally every video that she says shes a quad people try to correct her in the comments! It's awful! This one guy says " I'm a medical profession I would know". It makes me so mad I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for them. Sharing your impairment should never be a debate. period.
my cousin became quadraplegic 10 years ago, and has the same range of motion as you. Unfortunatly, he has been depressed ever since, and has refused to go out of his parent's basement - where they have built him a convinient room. Gives us hope to see you.
Sorry to hear that. Have you introduced your cousin to this channel? We need to have more quadriplegic therapists out there. I'm working on my license in becoming a licensed therapist I would love to see your cousin turn over a new leash on life. 🙂

Standing frames are a God send! My mom's boyfriend was paralyzed at 17. He died a few months ago at 44. He never used a standing frame. He was a big man (6'7" and about 350lbs) and they didn't have a frame big enough for him. When they finally did have them it was far too late and he couldn't tolerate it anymore. Just seeing your partner eye to eye and see the world from a standing level is amazing.

I learn alot from Cole and Charisma because both my brother and boyfriend are quadriplegics and i take care of both of them. And its hard but we watch you guys and you guys make us happy

I had the pleasure of help taking care of my brother for years. I prayed everyday that he would walk again. He's gone now but I am so happy for the opportunity to get a lot closer to him. I really do miss him a lot.

I just discovered this channel last night. Not even sure why it was suggested to me. But, I have been smitten. Watching how much they love each other, and seeing how his wife cares for him is so inspirational. They remind me of the things we all take for granted everyday and how we can all serve our spouses and loved ones better everyday.

I just started watching and it’s amazing how your tragedy has turned into a testimonial blessing for others! You both radiate so much love and compassion and it’s heartwarming to watch and be a part of your lives. I lost my husband in 2018 to cancer and I took care of him at home and watched him draw his last breath here on earth. God comforts us in our darkest days and gives us peace. I have a spinal injury as well and it amazes me how similar our abilities are. The way your wrist move is identicle to me, I HATE the stander. The way I use my phone is the same as you, ( hold your middle finger with your thumb ). So many similarity’s which is rare even with the same injury. I’m just dumbfounded. I have no triceps as swell. Again I’m just amazed. Keep up the good work and I hope the best for y’all!!
