@@nowyousleep it’s a psychological test where the subject is shown a pattern and has to say what they see. The results very significantly as it’s often based solely in the mind of the viewer. I’m often skeptical of masculinity and femininity as it seems like whenever you ask someone what they mean you get a variety of different answers. Often I find most people choose attributes or “morals” found in family members or movies.
Wooooah that’s cool. I rate that idea. I believe that if masculinity and femininity are simply social constructs, then they should be kept alive for the betterment of the future, whether they’re real or not.
Dude what a great video, genuinely high quality production. 👏 Very much enjoyed the topic, and honestly I do hope we get more good depictions of “masculinity” in movies and tv.
While i do believe that masculinity shouldn’t be lost in society and pop culture, i don’t agree that masculinity is inherently violent nor ruthless. Strength in one’s character goes beyond gender, so im glad that women arent just the damsels in distress anymore, but strength comes from within rather than exertion. I understand catharsis is a healthy way to purge anger but I believe thats done through fun shit like action scenes and gore, but violence shouldn’t be idolized as masculinity. Healthy masculinity is when a man understands his strength and uses it to help those who are weaker, like making sacrifices for women and children. I believe it’s understanding our privileges and responsibilities in the world but still retaining our vigor. I think minari is the best movie here that shows positive masculinity tho
I completely agree with you and think that’s a very healthy way to look at masculinity. I do not believe that violence is a core trait of masculinity, but more that it’s a suppressed trait of masculinity. And anything that is suppressed becomes dangerous. Violence is, in a way the modern man’s shadow self. Cheers so much for your comment! hope you like the video!!
There is no such thing as Sigma, there is only alpha and everyone else. It's pack structure that all mammals follow. You can't simply invent new rules to evolution.
@@QuantumPurple Sigma can't exist because that's not how our brain is wired up. You can argue with me as much as you like but you can't argue with evolution. Sigma is a term that was invented in the last decade, probably by what you call "beta". There is an Alpha and there are everyone else, you can call them beta or not call them, that's irrelevant. I don't think that apes or other pack mamals have these terms.
@@QuantumPurple Not sure why my comment was deleted. Anyway. Sigma can't exist because that's not how evolution wired up your male brain to work, and niether female's brain on how to select a potential mate. Apes don't have Sigmas, and other land mamals as well, they have pack leader(what we call alpha). Sigmas exist on youtube videos because it generates good like/views ratio.
Both masculinity and femininity are like a Rorschach test
Ooooh thats intresting, what’s a Rorschach test????
