Like and Subscribe! This is our first project related to generating electricity! We attach a fan and motor to Mark's bike to charge his phone via usb from a small DC motor.

I would suggest spinning the motor from the bike wheels rather than a fan, because you might come across the case with rear winds just stopping the fan from spinning, aside from the fact that the back-EMF from the dc motor might be too strong and slowing the fan below the rpm needed for charging the phone, which is probably what's happenning with the first motor. If you really want to use a fan, try making rotors with an odd number of blades (3,5,7), that way you avoid the rotor stalling because of equal air drag on opposite blades.
