Your description of Elden Ring is exactly me right now with Breath of The Wild. I like easy games too and Breath of The Wild scared me - literally, the monsters scared me. However now that my character is stronger I’m enjoying it much more and play it constantly. Also I avoid fights if I can lol. Great video!
My copy of RF5 arrives tomorrow! I've heard that there have been some performance issues, but that there have also been a number of patches that have helped, so hopefully they will keep on improving the performance over time.
I agree when it comes to RF5. Huuuge fan of RF4 and I am enjoying RF5, but the graphics and the performance (mainly performance) are so bad that it's kind of hard to get immersed..... I think they just missed the mark when trying to transfer back to 3D environments. The character personalities, designs, and English dubbing are super good though. And that good ol RF loop is there and still fun. It's just harder to enjoy when the game is stuttering constantly.
I think the more casual and more easygoing reviews is fresh air for the channel. There is always something for everyone. Of course your one game reviews are great, but if you are not interested in it in the first place you don't watch it. This format gets your attention as you see the more informal Ircha and you invite us to more variety and a bit of your life and I like that 😉. It's also probably quicker to make (I don't know) so we always will get something more often.

Also, I'm having the same dilemma between elden ring and rune factory 5 😬 but I just can't seem to stop playing elden ring, and I too am an "easy gamer" so this has come as a surprise to me as well that I've taken to this game so much. Btw, I've been listening to your podcast since the first episode and the genuine friendship you have with tinyhats is what makes your podcast so compelling (I mean that and the content too ☺️) but honestly you two are very lucky to have such a friendship! Triangle strategy is literally one of my favorite games already! You should really make it a priority when you have the time if you like JRPGs. The first couple chapters are super dialogue heavy, but that's my only complaint honestly.
Right there with you with Elden Ring... I'm 100 hours in and I've barely scratched the surface. I'm constantly discovering new and amazing things. It's one of the best games I've ever played in my life.
Hi Ircha, RF5 reminds me of Atelier Ryza. So far I’m loving it, but it does take a long time to load. I also noticed that when I try to throw stuff in the shipping bin, it mostly goes way past the bin! Lol. And yeah to me, Stardew Valley is tied with the RF series with how much fun they are. Stardew Valley is a never-ending game which is nice.
Would be great if you did an update video on Elden Ring later on, just to see how its going! Interested in what you have to say about the environment and character/monster designs, maybe your favorite or hardest boss experience too!

Have been playing the new Returnal DLC lately. Feels good to be back in this high octane rougelite again. I also gives me that "just one more time" sorta feeling.
Like you, I am a huge RF fan and have been looking forward to 5. I saw a 1 star review where someone was complaining about the performance issues and thought they may be over exaggerating...that was until I picked up my copy. The day one patch didn't make any difference from my experience. It is so disappointing how buggy it is, it feels like I'm playing an indie game that a developer put out for testing. There are so many little issues with it that I cannot recommend the $60 price tag. It is fun, but the little issues are really adding up. It boggles my mind that they released the game in this state. Side note, I thought I was the only one struggling to throw items into the shipping bin!
Does the dialogue or decision buttons in RF5 flicker like in RF4? I have epilepsy and sensory sensitivities and i really enjoyed RF4 but literally couldn't keep playing because of it 😥.
I'm 25 hours into Triangle Strategy and really enjoying it. The tactical fighting & diverging political storyline are its strong points. Anybody unsure should give the demo a go, but if you're a fan of, say, FE: Three Houses or just SRPGs in general I think you'll like it.
What a good surprise you love elden ring that much. I will end up getting it in the futur! Nice video overall and many good games. However i'm scared to start rune factory with all those technical problems... Hope there is a good day one patch to reduce or revome some of them!

You should try to see if it update the game since european release is today 😁 Characters are really nice and different to each other, i already memorize many of them ^^
I’m playing RF5 now and I haven’t have those type of glitches yet 🤔 I mean there is frame rate lags every now and then and sometimes it populates stuff slowly. I haven’t seen anything quite as extreme as the examples you showed. I wonder why that is?
Scarlet Nexus is great, played a bit of it but not 100% addicted yet. I dip in now and then on PC via Gamepass. Definitely agree, gorgeous game! I feel you on the backlog too, I try not to buy many new games until I finish some of my backlog now but I always fail haha. I am currently playing Core Keeper, it's only on PC right now but it's one of those time consuming addictive games!! Much like how I think Rune Factory would probably take lots of time. That's a series I haven't played yet but would want to try. They look great. My urge, to try Elden Ring is growing every day. I didn't have any interest at first but the more I see, the better it looks. I still don't want to pay so much money for it in case I hate it lol but one day I will try it. One day! I just have to figure out if I am going to be able to handle the frustration of the bosses but it sounds like it's a lot more forgiving than the other Fromsoftware titles. As a massive RPG fan, I am ashamed to say I have never tried Paper Mario either, it looks great. Sorry for the super long comment!
I started Scarlet Nexus a while back but didn't get too far... It looks pretty nice and seemed relatively fun, but I found the dialogue to be just absolute trash. Complete garbage. Maybe it's the translation, I'm not sure, but it's mind-numbingly awful and the shit writing was a constant distraction to me for the few hours I played.
Scarlet nexus is very under appreciated imo I think it'll be a hidden gem in the years to come I also appreciate that you won't review rune factory without actually playing it there's some youtubers out there that don't do these basic things lol.
My first playthrough of Elden Ring took 160 hours… I explored pretty much everything. I love the game so much, and now that I’ve finished it I have no idea what to play.
I didn't appreciate Majora's Mask as a kid, but I really like it a lot now. Paper Mario is the BEST, though. I finished The Messenger yesterday and tomorrow I'll be starting the new Kirby once it's in my hands. lol Also, you talking about Elden Ring is really making me want to try either it or a Souls game like Bloodborne. I'm not into challenging games either, but it might be something to consider (after I get through more of my backlog)!

Sadly these days we live in a release now and fix later mentality with game devs. One good thing is when we all have backlogs means there will be patches for most issue by the time we get to play them. What? Never played the first Mario kart for the SNES ? Lol I'm old enough that I remember when it was released and I bought and played it. Mm yep I'm that old haha.
I just bought an Xbox Series X when it was finally available on the Wal-Mart site. Can't wait for it to arrive. I also bought a game on Amazon, was gonna be Scarlet Nexus but I went with No Man's Sky instead. I wished I did get Scarlet Nexus, maybe eventually.
Scarlet Nexus is a great game, if you ever have the chance to give it a go on PS5 I highly recommend it, even if it's just the demo. The use of the Dual Sense is so much fun. My big tip for anyone playing Elden Ring is if you are struggling in an area or with a boss, just put a pin in it and go explore somewhere else. You can always gain a few levels and come back with a clear head. Lastly if you or anyone else is wondering, that Stardew Valley handbook is from Fangamer. I have the same one and it is not only really cool but every time the game got an update they would email me with an updated PDF of the guide.

I'm on phase 12 of yuitos story...and evidently once I beat it with yuito, it's worth a second playthrough with the other character because they have completely different cut scenes and different sides of the story shown. That's what I was told. I'll soon find out. Awesome game. Annoying load screens on the ps4 version though...I hear next gen doesn't deal with any of those. Still worth it.
Agreed, Rune Factory 5 is extremely unpolished and definitely doesn't seem finished. The environmental graphics and textures are so staggeringly bad that I find myself looking at them with fascination and wonder of how they could actually be this bad.
Just wanted to say something about how nice your N64 originals look! Those cheap cardboard cases are SO prone to getting damaged, it was a problem even back around 2005 when I worked at a game store; we rarely saw CiB copies. You clearly take care of your games. 👍
Love your take on Elden ring, just gotta take your time and grind it out. I can see why some people would get to Margit at lvl 12-20 and think the game is impossible.
I grab a nintendo switch in January i am currently playing octopath traveler , i went crazy with the shoppping and now i have a backlog of 43 switch games 4 ps5 games 13 ps4 games and now i have just ordered Elden Ring. Yes i am going to be playing it so then everything is going to wait XD

The clicking noises are loud, but sounds better in my opinion, compared to original controller. I'm sort of also on the lookout for silent-button controllers!
Wow. You really stuck with it. It's good to know it gets better the more you play it. I just have a time with games that were I die so much. It kinda takes me out of the flow when I have to stop and beat a boss. Any new tips ?
Steffen has been doing a lot of cheating 🤣 there is a dragon that can give 100k runes, just ask him about that 😁 it's something for leveling up faster.
From software games are great. They make you strategize and actually think on the fly. Sometimes you just need to change your strategy to beat a boss. And in a dungeon read the markers as your fellow players have your back and will alert you to what is coming up.
Triangle Strategy is 🔥 🔥 🔥 Chapter 4 things go off the rails and its full tilt thereon out. Best SRPG I've ever played, even better than Fire Emblem, and I don't say that lightly
In RF5 you are supposed to lock-on the shipping box to throw the items to it comfortably. Otherwise, you struggle like you showed in the video. I haven't had any animation issue tho. Besides all that, I agree that the performance, textures and town, world in general, feel like they could had been better... And there are a lot of repeated dialogues.

I've had Scarlet Nexus on my Steam wishlist for a while now, might get it in the next sale as it looks really interesting and I like the art style and futuristic setting. Elden Ring looks beautiful but is still kind of scary to me because I don't like super difficult games. Also RF5 seems a bit disappointing as it seems to have this issues since it's Japan release and the world looks just so bad and empty. I wouldn't mind if it was an indie game for half the price but not sure if I wanna pay 80$ for what it is now, so maybe I'll just wait until it goes on sale one day. I really like these kind of video btw!

Still to this day , the only Soulsborne game i managed to git good at parrying is Bloodborne ... ( i havent played Sekiro , i dont like those type of games ) and tbh in Elden Ring you have soo many options that parrying is not something you need to worry about , but there are Ashes of War for parrying , that help even a parrynoob like me.

TBH the patches haven't helped much and the game has been out for over a year so this should have been fixed before the US release
They won't. It's still bad in the Japanese version, which has been out for a while.

The story is a slow burn but then gets so freaking good. Some of those decisions still have me crying.

I bought Elden Ring a couple of nights ago on the Xbox Series S. It's my first FromSoftware game. I really like it so far.

I grab a nintendo switch in January i am currently playing octopath traveler , i went crazy with the shoppping and now i have a backlog of 43 switch games 4 ps5 games 13 ps4 games and now i have just ordered Elden Ring. Yes i am going to be playing it so then everything is going to wait XD

The clicking noises are loud, but sounds better in my opinion, compared to original controller. I'm sort of also on the lookout for silent-button controllers!
Wow. You really stuck with it. It's good to know it gets better the more you play it. I just have a time with games that were I die so much. It kinda takes me out of the flow when I have to stop and beat a boss. Any new tips ?
Steffen has been doing a lot of cheating 🤣 there is a dragon that can give 100k runes, just ask him about that 😁 it's something for leveling up faster.

From software games are great. They make you strategize and actually think on the fly. Sometimes you just need to change your strategy to beat a boss. And in a dungeon read the markers as your fellow players have your back and will alert you to what is coming up.
Triangle Strategy is 🔥 🔥 🔥 Chapter 4 things go off the rails and its full tilt thereon out. Best SRPG I've ever played, even better than Fire Emblem, and I don't say that lightly

In RF5 you are supposed to lock-on the shipping box to throw the items to it comfortably. Otherwise, you struggle like you showed in the video. I haven't had any animation issue tho.
Besides all that, I agree that the performance, textures and town, world in general, feel like they could had been better... And there are a lot of repeated dialogues.

I just finished rf4, its great. Rf5 seems to have alot of problems that are not going to be fixed since its been out for awhile in japan with no fix.

One thing about RF5 performance issues...the game has been out for a year already (in Japan). Don't count on many more patches.

I've had Scarlet Nexus on my Steam wishlist for a while now, might get it in the next sale as it looks really interesting and I like the art style and futuristic setting. Elden Ring looks beautiful but is still kind of scary to me because I don't like super difficult games. Also RF5 seems a bit disappointing as it seems to have this issues since it's Japan release and the world looks just so bad and empty. I wouldn't mind if it was an indie game for half the price but not sure if I wanna pay 80$ for what it is now, so maybe I'll just wait until it goes on sale one day. I really like these kind of video btw!
Curious if Rune factory 5 is similar to Olive town, story of seasons. Slow frame rate, glitches ect. It sounds very similar

Still to this day , the only Soulsborne game i managed to git good at parrying is Bloodborne ... ( i havent played Sekiro , i dont like those type of games )
and tbh in Elden Ring you have soo many options that parrying is not something you need to worry about , but there are Ashes of War for parrying , that help even a parrynoob like me.
Why didn't you review Ni no kuni 2 or the mobile ni no kuni game?
More track for Mario Kart 8 is great. But I was hoping for more characters and new karts 😊😊😊
