    I save up the rolls from the inside of paper towels or toilet paper to use as foraging toys. I can put a few treats inside and fold over the ends or stuff in some brown paper.

      Same. Mine gets one filled with hay every morning along with fresh herbs since her vet took her off of pellets a few months ago. I his some of her favorite treats in one folded over awhile back and she still hasn’t figured it out yet…

      Paper towel/toilet roll tubes are an excellent budget-friendly toy 👍🏼. Have you tried poking holes all round the tube, just large enough for the treats to fall through? That way she can get to them by simply rolling it along.

    Favorite and cheapest (well, aside from the cost of the eggs!) which my two 3-month-old bunnies love is just a cardboard egg carton. Fill it with treats or pellets or even hay, let them figure how to open. Eventually one will tug at it, flip and the other burrow her face to push it open. Teamwork!

    My Bun girls took absolutely no notice of any Toys...Just endless Pampering !😂
    They loved fresh willow twigs, Stripped a ton of those..
    They were brilliant at Bunstructing Cardboard Boxes,
    The little Dutchy Used to pull a little strip of cardboard off the side and use it as a duster !! She smoothed the floor of the cardboard box until it was as smooth as silk...Then she'd pack her little 'dusters ' into the corners.,until there were no corners left, they were all rounded off, the floor was smooth the corners were rounded...and the cardboard boxes became very 'des -res ' !! She was such a homemaker..
    The golden fluff was a lace maker , A lot of communication occured whilst busy turning cotton towels into , lace.Initially I would have her wrapped in a towel to give her some meds ..She redesigned a few of my Tshirts too... Whilst I was wearing them...I've had lots of compliments, Probs 'cos they 're so revealing.!!😂❤❤😂❤❤😂❤❤😂❤❤
    They got busy and took
    immaculate care of each other...xx Summer & Tina
    Tina outlived SumBuns...
    She passed in July this yr aged 10 , but thier legacy lives on....❤❤ xx

    If only things weren't that expensive in my country I'd literally spoil my bun. It took me a whole year to save up for a pen and now i still need to get him more toys, grooming tools etc. I'm so glad I found your video though! My bun is so picky when it comes to toys. He absolutely loves sticks but he won't touch his willow ball 🤷 He's such an oddball maybe it's because he's ginger haha

      @TheBunniesBrigade  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear things are expensive where you are. That hair buster is pricey everywhere. I actually picked up mine on Prime Day so it was a more reasonable price. You can also just get a regular pet comb and weave a thick elastic band between the teeth - works just as well 😉.
      Try the big 6 or 8 pack of willow balls that I mention. We actually ended up getting some for ourselves and I found that there are some materials Pepper and Wally love to chew on and some they're not interested in. With that assorted pack you can find out what your bun's preferences are.

    this is one thing i don’t see often, dog rope toys and silvervine sticks, my rabbit goes nuts for them, especially the rope toys, since he was a baby he’d want to play tug of war, run around with them constantly till he flopped over, make sure there are no plastic additives though, i often use ones made for puppies or terriers as the rope is often softened fibre and helps grind their teeth down too

This is their reply about the material "Thank you for your interest in TableCraft! The material Polypropylene is a plastic compound and is not natural; However, this basket C1174W is made of Polyethylene which is also a plastic compound. I fail to understand how people are so suprised when I tell them you can train a bunny. They are very smart and given the proper LOVE and support, it takes almost NO EFFORT to train a rabbit. As long as you understand they key to training a rabbit is treats, its easy. The idea of chewing bars can be easily stopped by providing fresh Willow tree branches with leaves or without. My bun doesn't chew other things in the house if he has Willow branches available. The dog treat puzzles make awesome toys for bunnys. Rabbits love searching for treats and using their nose and teeth, they can easily find treats. I also found my bunny LOVES playing with toddler toys. Fisher Price toys are his favorite. I kept all my Grandkids toys because my rabbit plays with them.

      Tell me about it, people look at me crazy when I tell them I train rabbits 😅. The key to training any animal is positive reinforcement and, you're absolutely right, rabbits are all food motivated which makes it a breeze. Thanks for some other great toy ideas!

      The best toys for rabbits are often not marketed for rabbits, so I always recommend thinking outside the box! Just be sure to consider whether it's something they might be able ingest, which they shouldn't be - watch for products that may have toxic paint, vanishes, or glues and avoid soft plastics they can nibble.

    Is there anyway I can do clicker training with my bun in the same main living space that my parakeet is in? I obviously also use a clicker on him(he's already clicker and target stick trained) so I'm worried about it confusing both animals.

      You can use a different sound to mark or, with Pepper & Wally, I use a single click for one and a double click for the other to help avoid confusion. You can also do training sessions in a different room.

    • @TheBunniesBrigade

      They do consume it in small quantities, a lot of the time they just tear it up. Some rabbits can be more prone to stasis or just go way to crazy eating it, so playing with cardboard toys would need to be monitored.

      You do not have to use a clicker, but marking (which is what the clicker does) when your rabbit is chewing the right things is the quickest, most reliable way to communicate to her what items you are happy for her to chew on. This will, in turn, reduce the unwanted chewing until it disappears completely.

    I have tried a few different dig boxs, a sand box, peat, & cardboard box with paper. My 2 buns just use them as an extra toilet😳so i end up tipping them
    out.
    Also yes they love dismantling boxs, but they eat lots of the cardboard, so i get worried they are ingesting too much. They chew lots, i have some bits of wood for them but they always go for my treated pine furniture
    & seem to eat that too. I have protected most of it now. Im more concerned about the ingesting of stuff, & if it'll do harm, but also i want them to be busy & happy. Any advice?

    • @TheBunniesBrigade
      @TheBunniesBrigade  ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tried a snuffle mat? You can get all kinds of different ones. They're usually marketed for dogs, but they're great to satisfy the digging instincts. You can also make your own with blizzard(polar) fleece, which is a safe fabric for rabbits to play with. Some people like to use kid's ball pits as digging places. They would probably be less likely to pee in something like that, but I do wonder if they really get the same fulfillment not being able to grab the balls or tear anything up...
      Unless your rabbits have particularly sensitive stomachs (and some do) I wouldn't worry too much about them ingesting cardboard. It's generally pretty safe and they don't usually eat a lot of it in one sitting. Most of the time they'll just be chewing on it a bit and spit it out.
