Yes it does happen… my husband of 40 years was my friend for 7 years before we got married… we met my first day at work following college graduation… were great friends to the point several co-workers thought we were dating… but I was already engaged and got married to someone else 3 months after we met… then after 3 years of my marriage to the wrong guy, job changes for both of us, a number of girlfriends and boyfriends that we kicked to the curb, our friendship remained strong. I made work moves to both Virginia and California. He had professed his love (altho I thought we should not bring romance into our friendship because I didn’t want to ever lose his friendship) when I was living in Virginia, and I chose to move back home after a short stint in California. Three grown daughters, many pets, businesses, and houses later, we are now retired and are still crazy in love!

Ok so I had never seen this show before my boyfriend basically forced me to watch it on Netflix with him. I've been hooked ever since. So then he decided to play a prank on me and tell me Jim and Pam end up getting a divorce at the end of season 9 because Jim's new job put too much stress on their relationship. I literally sobbed for an hour straight, even after he told me multiple times he was joking. We just finished watching the entire series and I'm still mad.
