- Willie Nelson's first show in Enid, OKlahoma after Merle's passing. Merle and willie were touring together and were supposed to perform. Jamey, Chris and Morgane were traveling with Willie performing and recruited Ryan Bingham to help with the tribute. They sang many of his songs in tribute to merle.
Between those 2 singers right there they got more talent than all the new singers in Nashville in the last 20 years. These guys are the best of the best.
This is country music at its finest. Two REAL musicians covering a legend like Merle.

Damn, this is a masterclass on how proper respect is given. Jamey, Chris and Ryan are conduits to the traditional format that inspired their own writing and performing talents. They completely understand the need and drive to retain the connection to honor the legends that preceded them and paved the way. That’s the privilege of collecting extra birthdays; you learn, understand and appreciate the deeper significance of the things you didn’t grasp when you were younger. Jamey Johnson is a powerhouse Extraordinare in this paradigm.

IN MY OPINION THE HARMONIES WERE SPOT ON TAKING THIS FROM A REALLY GOOD TO A WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL RENDITION OF A MERLE HAGGARD CLASSIC IN HONOR OF OUR LEGEND! RIP MERLE.

@@atljbb85 I have to disagree, Willie Nelson is one of the most overrated singers ever. He's a far greater songwriter, I will give you that, but Waylon was the only part of that duo who was a truly great singer.

It is about time, I been saying for a long time that CS & JJ should do something. I think they should collab... Other than the ole'timers that still live,,, these two are the best there is. If I had to pick the best ten or less, there is one and two right there. These two together would be unstoppable.... I can't say enough good about them unless they get together..... jeff black have you ever seen him live? I have several times and the man can sing. You don't have to like him and you don't have to agree with me! I personally, believe these 3 are what country should be. A little less Luke, FGL, and all that and a hell of a lot more of these guys!! I'm not trying to compare any of these guys to each other...simply think these 3 on tour would be amazing.

They are two different voices. Johnson has more of a traditional country sound while Stapleton has more of a Blues Gospel sound.
I would say jamey sounded much better than Chris on this song . Both are great though

Like I've already commented, human beings talk. That's what they do. I've been to many shows, and people talked during every one of them. That's just the way it is. When people go to shows, they don't go there with the intention of making studio type recordings, where you don't hear anything other than the music. They go there to have a good time/enjoy themselves, and that involves some talking. People listen to albums for uninterrupted experiences.
I don't get it. I've been to plenty of concerts, I understand singing along. All I can think is the lady talking out loud was trying to get some guys attention, all n all its just an arrogant person.
Most are drunk. Drunks are into what’s happening at the moment and not who’s around them trying to listen.

I do the shush first. The politely ask to quit the loud talk if that didn’t work. Next it’s shut up with the death stare. That usually works for me.
I've never been to any show where people don't talk... That's what people do. It's kind of hard to avoid it.
