    I've had my Brawn for about a week. I like it. Very easy to assemble. I weigh 220 and probably about 230 or more with my boots and winter gear. I got about 24 miles on a ride and battery was down to 44 volts. I also have a backpack on with easily 20 pounds or more in it. Temperatures here were 40 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit and probably not optimal for the battery. I got the rear rack and fenders and meachow mirrors for both sides. It'll do 28 mph easily on a full charge. One problem, my phone app won't connect with the bike and according to other TH-cam videos this is a common problem. It'll tell me the battery percentage and thats all I get from it. Heybike has sent me two different links for the app and neither one works. I'll keep correspondence with their support team until they figure out what the problem is. Very well made bike with no squeaks or rattles. I have 120 miles on it in a week and am satisfied with overall performance. I recommend a spandex seat cover because the seat has a grabby texture and I've got a little chafing, easy fix though and seat is very supple otherwise. Also a very nice looking bike, especially with the accessories.

    I got this bike not too long ago, my first E-bike and I've been super pleased with it. there were some discrepancies from what was on the listing but no complaints although I don't suggest riding without the pedal assist because having an additional 79 pounds while trying to ride. according to the display i was able to get it to 35mph but in reality, it was only going 25 which hey not bad.
    also, I'm 6'9'' and weigh 350lbs. (what on the listing is the limit for the weight) being that tall the bike is also very comfortable to ride for anyone wondering.

      @@scotthines5834 I'm loving the bike. The fit and finish is great. The suspension feels quality. The dropper post is such a game changer. One of the main reasons I got this as opposed to other similar bikes. hey another great review. ive commented on a few videos. im looking for a good e-bike as my first. im 6ft 370 lbs and saw your video and videos from others reviewing this bike. I live in buffalo-niagara falls ny area...we get alot of crazy weather and alot of steep hills and steep bridges. you suggested in another video that i might want Velotric Nomad 1 for torque but do you think this would do well? my average rides are are 15-20 miles but i do sometimes go for 30 mile rides and have a charity ride in jube for 44 milr route. I love the look of the bike...but of course i know looks arent everything. I do like the head light for night rides....around where i live and taking rides to the FALLS. i do wish there were fenders and rear rack. My budget is between 1500-1900 before tax.

      yes, I think the larger battery on the brawn is a great idea for range improvement too. You may want to consider the Hovsco HovAlpha as well which I reviewed on my other channel: th-cam.com/video/W78T-EXzbic/w-d-xo.html
      it has a similar look, and it has an even larger battery, and a torque sensor which is really beneficial for range improvement as well. It has fenders, but I forget if there is a rack mounting point or not. It's on sale from what I can see
      this video is a little roundup showing the differences with these two bikes included:

Or do you ride them. I'm interested in maybe starting a channel and reviewing my Brawn after a thousand miles and further, if I can pick up a used gopro for filming. I'm homeless and use bicycles for commuting and my new heybike has actually improved my stamina and I think its because I'm more likely to doing sprints for the speed exhilaration as opposed to the 10 mph I was getting from a standard bike. Ive never had one but I saw a video about the proper torque of the clamp at the seat tube. If its too tight, it squeezes the sliding tube. Also, contamination, dirt, grease, sticky stuff, can gum up the works. Have a bikeshop check the torque of the clamp if you don't have a torque wrench and make sure everything is clean. Inspect the cable and thumb lever also for possible kinks or adjustments.

    It says that this class of bike is not allowed on trails because it’s a class three. Is that true? Also, it goes 28 miles an hour with no pedal assist? Could it go faster with pedal assist? I don’t know if I understand the difference. I want to be able to use it on trails.

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I guess it depends on where you live regarding enforcement. As long as the bike has pedals I feel like you'll be fine. Pedaling will basically just help you save battery life, not achieve a speed higher than 28mph. My other channel showcases a bike you're more likely to get in trouble with: th-cam.com/video/nj287kFgCGM/w-d-xo.html
      But even still, here in LA I have yet to get in any trouble with it and I ride all the time 😆

    A question I have always had with e-bikes. Do you have to use pedal assist? I was wanting to start biking to work (6 miles one way) but would like to manually ride when possible. I want to be able to use the motor when I'm crunched for time, weather, etc. I have heard it's harder to pedal.

    • @goobfilmcast4239
      @goobfilmcast4239 ปีที่แล้ว

      No....but do your "research" and make sure if you intend to do little or no pedaling, you get an e-bike with a higher capacity battery. Using the adjustable pedal assist levels can extend your range, sometimes to double, without working up a sweat. The Motor still kicks in but pedaling extends battery life with the rider doing some of the work. Pedal assist may also be necessary if you are climbing hilly roads. Your ride is relatively short but the basic rule is the cheaper the bike, the weaker the motor, the smaller the battery and the shorter the range.

    • @pinkpony5515
      @pinkpony5515 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To answer your question a bit better, yes you can pedal but especially with fat tire versions they are much heavier making it harder to pedal, so if you were to not want to use pedal assist as much probably go with normal sized tires for lighter weight.

    I'm curious about the 51% battery comment, how is this possible for a 48 volt battery? Did they send you a 52 or 60 volt demo?

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am assuming where you said 51% you meant to say 51 V. When you buy a bike, whatever the rated battery voltage is the nominal voltage. When you charge it all the way to 100% the actual voltage of the battery will be more than the nominal voltage. And as the battery begins to die, it drops below the nominal voltage. On a 48 V system a full charge will be 52 V, and when the battery is completely dead, it will read about 43 V. Hope this helps!

      I'm 6'9'' and its pretty dang comfy if the handle bars are too low you could get a handle bar riser as an easy fix.

    Use the app to set a very low top speed for when it's locked up. Idiot thief can't change it if he tries. Be sure to buy a Kyroptonite New York lock for the insurance coverage up to $4k. Lock cost: $140, insurance included.
    What a kick to ride and it turns heads everywhere.

    Is a shame that "HeyBike" has NO customers service, if you have an issue, there is no phone to call, you are on your own. Not good!

    Will this bike stop charging when it’s full?? I’m afraid to let it catch on fire plus I don’t want to be a babysitter!!!😂😂😂😂 advice pls!!!!

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will stop charging when it’s full and the light turns green on the charger. Generally, my rule of thumb is to be at home while charging them, and try to avoid charging them overnight just in case something super unusual happens. What I like to do is charge it up to about 80% or so and store there, and then when I know I’m bout to take it out for a ride through it on the charger for an hour or two to top it off.

    Congratulations. You got a free bike. But the bars are a little narrow and the controls are difinately not very well thought out. Especially that dropper ramming your left hand constantly. The throttle mount rams your right hand and you have to position your hands unevenly to work around all this (not to mention the shifter). The motorcycle style head tube is tuff but in my opinion a bit much considering it limits your turning radius. But to be fair I won't mention another products that would violate your agreement with HeyBike.👍

      they don't pay me anything, but they send me the e-bike to review, I just show the true performance of them in the video along with my opinions. this one is pretty decent, I have a round-up video in the works showing 6 bikes in one video and how they compare and what my favorite ones are

    My Heybike arrived damaged. They want to send me the parts, have me buy the tools and fix it myself. I looked up reviews and that's their policy. Good luck if it arrives broken, worst customer service ever.

    Great bike but the company sucks! I don't recommend buying this bike. You going to have a lot of issues and support is going to be nowhere to be found or give you some BS excuse. I'm really not happy with the hey bike company. It's a waste of time.
