Tim is absolutely correct. A Home Free concert is another level indeed. You get to see his comedic side. And the energy with all the other Fries is over the top amazing. It gets to be an addictive experience. Love Home Free!
@Graniepanies If you go to the same concert multiple times,yes it is the same. Tim is the one who does the talking. The rest of the members are comfortable with it. It wasn't a Home Free thing until Tim joined. For a tour,the script remains the same. Are you going to complain that they sing the same songs at every tour concert?
Awesome to hear Tim's stories, he is definitively an interesting story.
Tara, pro tip for you, when you interview people, could you please remind them to please not cover their mouths with the microphones? You do great with the microphone below your mouth, but Tim had the mouth, mike, camera all in line, meaning that all those of us with hearing impairments, can't read lips on him. It might feel like a small thing, but a lot of people actually use the face/mouth to understand, and not just the words themselves.

That was an awesome interview! I found Home Free during the pandemic & I fell in love with their sound & sense of humor. Tim Foust is my favorite bass singer. I love that he can also sing tenor with his 5 octave range. His doo-wop cd is great. I bought it along with his solo album before joining Home Free. Hope to see them live one of these days.

Wow! When I saw this was over an hour, I thought it would be deadly -- but it really held my attention. Amazing story.
TIM HAS A FULL THREE OCTAVE VOCAL TALENT WITH INCREDIBLE LOW END - he is essentially a Piano notes reproducer .... a maverick out of Texas ...... heard his singing while listening to HOME FREE A Capella group ..... been about ten years and three personnel changes AND STILL His lead and low note singing is an awesome time for listening. His channel on You Tube and that of Austin Brown ( former band mate in H.F. - recently departed for solo work) has several of his work and in confluence with others ..... just a great voice and funny person !!! Huge fan, one of the best vocal musicians out there. Your approach to bass from crazy complicated basslines that set tempo and tone to supporting notes that lift up the tenors and round out songs with needed warmth and fullness is in my opinion unmatched and always serves the song and music. I know that many focus on your lowest notes and they are impressive but I want you to know there are people out there that appreciate all you do and aren't just focused on the flashy moments. You are one of the few that brings all of that to a Capela so thank you Tim.

WOW, Church of Christ !! OMG, my wife's uncle was the head Pastor of the Napa, CA congregation back in the early 80's, so her whole family were parishioners there for many years. Tara, thank you so much for doing this interview with Tim. I loved it. You are my favorite music reactor and Home Free is one of my top two most favorite music groups. Just love listening to Tim's beautiful deep voice. This was amazing !!

This was a great interview video! I heads a couple of stories I never heard from Tim. I’ve been a fan of Home Free since their first appearance on the Sing Off. I’m so glad I was already a fan of the show from the show’s first season. I may never have discovered them early on. Love being a Home Fry! Tim’s albums are incredibly fantastic!

They are joined by Tim's old friend and Blue Jupiter bandmate Chris Chatham on guitar, along with Austin's pianist Sebastien Douyon ("Bring Him Home"), and Tim's brother-in-law Chris Marion on acoustic bass guitar. It's really fun!
I love the acknowledgment at about 25:00 that it be difficult for a parent to know when to encourage persistence or just say “this isn’t working.”

This is one of the best interviewsI have seen of Tim. We’ve been following the group since their first tour when 5hey came to our small town. The second time we saw them was at the Lincoln County Fair in Merrill, Wi. This was a couple of years before the sing off. We were going to visit a family member in the hospital, hubby saw the group was going to be at the fair. Since it was on our way, we stopped for the show. There were only about 25 people who were there to watch the show. Between sets we sat with the guys on rocks, next to their worn out van, just talking about life. We always thought they were amazing. We’ve been tomany concerts since. Cant tell you how many times we listened to them and watched the videos during covid. It felt like we were connecting with old friends during that strange time. Hubby and I also love the sea shandies. When my youngest was a baby, he would sing whatcan we do with the drunken sailor every morning to occupy her til i got home fromwork so I could feed her. So much of our lives and memories arewith music. The artist then also becomes a part of us as they are part of that memory, and will live on in our spirit.

I had a friend in college who sang on a cruise ship. Since the cruise ship was offering variety, she only had to sing once and could enjoy the rest of the cruise. She had been singing at Six Flags and her boyfriend at the time was flying from Dallas to Houston each week to sing at Astroworld (when you could fly for around $30).
Such an interesting journey for him. So glad he isn't still substitute teaching.
Can you imagine getting Tim's dry humor coming at you as a kid? 😮
There's a video on TH-cam with Tim and Chatham,who he met when he was in Blue Jupiter. He was still substitute teaching math up here. Chatham told me they lived in Inver Grove Heights then. But they sing Lady Gaga's Edge of Glory. Tim does lead. I didn't recognize Chatham until he sang in the chorus. I lived in Inver Grove Heights at the time,but my kids don't remember a long haired deep voiced sub.

There are two versions - the original one from many years ago and the one they just did for their Crazy-er Life album this year. While they're both good, I think the original wins (partially due to the surprise cameo appearance). It would be interesting to see if Tara catches it!
Very cool insight. My support system was completely different. My dad wouldn’t even give me a ride to practice for the vocal ensemble. Now I write and sing but I’m almost 60. I have realized some of the dream. I’ve released 8 singles. How much better could it have been with the proper support?

Blue Jupiter was the group Tim left dental school to join during his early college years.
Dear ones, dear Tara and Tim, it's 4.28 AM over here in Nederland. You call my country; The Netherlands, we call it Nederland in our language. And then you go and take a town in Southern Texas and name it after my country. My dear goodness, we are truly lost without Our Good Lord, for sure!!! 😅🎉 But seriously: "Tara, you remind me of my sister a lot, same eyes, same power. I said it before; This is what you do so well. Tim..... your voice reminds me of a little, great man. He was known to most of us as Prince Rogers Nelson. You know.... my Grandfather here in Holland, had the same thing..... talked like a boy scout until one day his low voice just kicked in. Our Good God surely works in mysterious ways.
