Thanks for the instructions! Just installed mine after removing my hood prop for a supercharger. No problems with the installation and no gap once I finished
Once you've got some driving time with the strut, let us know if you notice any shake in that side of the hood. (as if the strut tension is causing it to catch air)
I think you made a good call on the single strut kit! I took my Rspeed kit out because over time it started to torque the hood to one side and it no longed lined up with the fender/headlight cover. I wonder if I could possibly fab up some brackets and turn it into a single strut kit like yours. Do you by chance know the length of the strut your kit came with?
Good to see you back. Hope you had a good time in France. Guess you got out just before the rail strike. Your trains at home are obviously not on strike judging by the number that went by while you were shooting this vidéo 😅
Robin Forrest France was great, but I didn’t see a single modded car the entire trip! Still cool though. We stayed an extra day because our flight home was canceled due to strike. Trains were fine. The TGV was awesome! 220 MPH!!!
Robin Forrest you’re right about that. While I was in the city, I did see a Ferrari and a Lamborghini (both stock), but that was really the only bit of car culture that I saw. It was cool though because of all the Euro cars that I never get to see in person over here.
Because Miata In defence of the French, legislation on car mods is so strict that there's not much you can do to your car in the way of mods without falling foul of the law. Remaps, engine swaps, adding turbos, even fitting a 6-speed box to a 5-speed car are all no-nos here. Some people do them, but if you get in an accident with a car modified in this way you can find yourself in considerable grief with your insurance company. Even a MX5 BBR turbo would be very difficult to register in France because they didn't leave the factory that way. No way for example could I envisage fitting a forced induction system to Mia for example (not that I'd want to - I like her stock the way Mazda intended 😊).
I totally understand. I thought I would at least see tinted windows and aftermarket wheels, but everything was completely stock. I guess the law is strict enough that people don't want to deal with it. If I had to move over there, maybe I would look into a Mazdaspeed version of the MX5 with it's factory turbo. I wonder what the law would say about installing a roll bar since it is a safety feature.
Yeah the 89-90 don’t have the hole. The instructions that come with the kit tells you how to fix that. You need to drill a 7/16” hole. The Moss website has a pdf for the instructions that tells you where to drill. It’s only one hole to drill, so it should be a pretty easy fix. Good luck!

Yuuyia Takahashi it’s been a few days, and it’s been solid so far. I’ll report back if there are any changes.
@@khocco No changes...it's perfect!

CrogDog's Garage I’m sure one strut will work fine. I’ll measure it tomorrow to see the length.
CrogDog's Garage the strut is 24 inches extended.
Same length as mine are, appreciate you checking that for me!

The French are no way near as into cars as Brits, Aussies or Americans...
