Outstanding. Especially getting the spring back in. Saved me a lot of aggravation. Thanks!
Answered my questions. Good video. Thanks
I use DunkIt (or Poly DunkIt) from Cylinder & Slide. You can strip the magazine - or not - then drop it in for a quick soak. Swish it around then take it out and wipe it down with a paper towel. Use compressed air to dry the inside.
Pull the follower out at the beginning..so much easier
I read to keep lubricant away from magazines... won't ballistol attract dirt/dust or do whatever the other lubes will do to magazine?
thank you good job
You're welcome, and thanks for watching!
Or a Mk IV
Follower doesn't come out? Seems like hot water and detergent would also clean out the inside. Just need to follow up with Hoppe's or something like that to get rid of the water residue afterwards. Then finish off with the q-tips or bore swabs on the end of a bore tool. We used to clean auto parts that way. Even parts that would rust. Secret is to use very hot water so most of it will evaporate and get most of it off before following up with the Hoppe's etc.
If you watch the full video it is removed.
I find it far easier to strip the mag completely first . Q-tip/Hoppes 9 the insides and the follower . Then take a paper towel and fold it over several times until it fits snugly in the mag and push it back and forth with your pistol cleaning rod . Far faster and thoroughly mops it out . Then a light coat of Eezox . A standard 22 cal. patch on your rod also works well through the insides of the spring .
