So well done. Especially when you say don't use too much oil BECAUSE it will attract dirt. I have the Target version and I love it. Fun and inexpensive to shoot. Thanks for taking the time to post!
I remember hearing stories many years ago about how annoying it was to take apart one of these Rugers and then put them back together. Now that they simplified the process and added the pistol to the California handgun roster, I am definitely going to be buying one in the very near future along with a SR22
I've never even seen one of these in person, but I have about 15k rounds through a Buckmark. Takedown on the mk iv looks impressive. That grip angle is pretty extreme, though. I need to hold one to be sure.
@@tuffguy6852 Reassembly of my Buckmarks is a nightmare trying to get the spring back in without launching the nylon piece across the room. As Crisis B says, the Mark IV was just added to the CA roster, and I just purchased one today. I may sell a Buckmark now that I have this.
@LogosMediaII takedown is the only thing I don't like about my Buckmark. I don't even fully take it down anymore. I just lock the slide back and clean the best I can. I wonder if the 22/45 will become California compliant as well.
I literally hated disassembling and reassembly of my Mark 3. I hated that pistol. Thanks Ruger for making the Mark 4 the easiest handgun to field strip ever. Loving my Mark 4 , accurate, easy, and fun to shoot. The Ruger Mark 4 is the absolute best in it's class.
After 45 years I moved up from my MK1 to a MK4. It was worth it just for its ease of reassembly. However, right out of the box, the trigger needs to be reworked. After that, it's a great gun.
Who is this guy? I’m convinced it’s the same guy from the mark III video from 15 years ago. Same watch, voice and mannerisms after 15 years. Seems much happier with the disassembly process though lol
I bought a Mark IV when pistol stock was low and pistols were hard to find. Bought it on line because it was in stock and been looking for a .22. Had fired an older Mark II so I was familiar with the gun. This was an excellent purchase. I am very satisfied with this gun. Love shooting it. I do think it needs a sight adjustment as my shots have been off and to the left. Any advice would be awesome. (Just fyi my brothers shots were off left also) Still a great gun.
Go to auto parts store, buy can of electronic cleaner (NOT electric cleaner), spray everything, give it a few scrubs with a small toothbrush, a pass down the bore with a snake, spray everything again to clean off what you just brushed, wipe down w/slightly oily shop rag, a drop of oil on lube points, done. I do this standing next to a workbench in the garage while spraying parts over a large trash can; takes less than 5 mins. No longer a buzzkill going to range and dreading the cleaning. Electronic cleaner immediately dissolves dirt and grime, especially where a rag won't reach, and dries completely w/o any oily residue. Won't hurt metal finishes or plastics.
A popular rumor is that cleaning the barrel bore might not be great for accuracy; resulting in having to first fire enough shoits to foul the bore before you can get reliable accuracy. Opinion?
I bought the Mark IV Hunter and the shop owner told me to only clean the barrel bore once a year or when the accuracy starts to degrade. For the reasons you mentioned. So that’s what I will do but I have to say I’m very new to guns in general. :-)
People are always going back and forth on that. Once in a while it's fine. Even the manual states it's fine to do on occasion, but if you're planning on doing a bunch of it to use snap caps.
The way he says "piece of cake" you KNOW he's remembering the MkIII's god awful disassembly procedure. I'm pretty sure if you reassemble a Mk3 incorrectly you'll summon the cenobites from Hellraiser
63 yr old female… I love my MarkIV Target, accurate, easy to clean. Fun gun and everyone who sees it says good things about them, “ I gotta get one of those”, OR “I have one and love it.” BUT Told and read in manual.. DO NOT DRY FIRE..
Why doesn't anybody clean a dirty gun? Show the before and after. Show how 'easy' it is to actually clean the frame of a firearm that has been shot a few hundred times.
I’ve had a Mark II since 1991 and I can’t believe how easy the IV comes apart and together!!! I want one!!!
I still have my Mark 2 but I am buying a mark IV soon.
Just shot my new mk 4 today. At fifty yards, standing, I was hitting a 12" plate. Cleaning was a breeze. Thank you Ruger!

This is so much easier than the mark III, I sold my old mark III and bought a new mark IV just because of the easy disassembly feature.
I have 2 mark iii. I was thinking the same thing. This looks super easy. I have been thinking of upgrading mine to the mark iv
I bought a Ruger Mark IV about a month ago and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase thank you. Such a great pistol.
What an improvement over the original Mark I

Really enjoy my Ruger Mark IV™. Note: It was my first "starter" pistol. Very economical to use. Great to train new shooters with it.
Same. Now it's got a dead air mask, a holosun green dot and it's one of my favorite range toys. Always puts a smile on everyone's face who shoots it.
It's the reason I just bought mine. I'm terrible with handguns and I hope to learn a bit with this thing

no it dont needs to be if you not shoot in profi sports.., is just you strange people who always think you need to change things

I thought you weren’t supposed to dry fire .22 pistols. Can I dry fire my Mark4 without causing any damage?
Do not dry fire it. Get some snap caps.
It says it is ok to dry fire (THIS) pistol right in the manual.
Holy crap the mk4 is so much easier to disassemble than my mk3!
Thank you for your time posting this excellent information.
I love Mark IV, but mine has a built-in suppressor. Mine is the Sicario. It's very quiet!
The Mark IV is nearly perfect. I was just hoping you would start offering it in 5.7x28... especially the Hunter 6.9 and 10" Target variants.
It’s safe to dry fire it after re assembly?
This just sold me on getting this pistol next month 😍

Is it okay to clean in ultrasonic cleaner?

Will dry fire damage the firing pin of Ruger Mk4?
Hi,
Is it possible to have the references of the products and items that you are using in the video ?
Thanks
Did you find out what products were used in the video? Thnx
So it’s ok to dry fire the Mark IV?
Yes but only recommended for occasional, not consistently. It's in the manual
Wish Ruger would make a .22 mag in the mark series...

Excellent and what a great pistol!
I heard you should not dry fire a rimfire firearm, but it’s done a couple of times in this video. Is that not the case?
People are always going back and forth on that. Once in a while it's fine. Even the manual states it's fine to do on occasion, but if you're planning on doing a bunch of it to use snap caps.
They should do a Mark III video, it sucks to disassemble.
There is one by Ruger from 14 years ago.
Beautiful Gun.I want one
I picked up mine yesterday and it's great.

It literally is written in the manual that you can occasionally dry fire it.
Why did it take them 50+ years to come up with that method of cleaning
Thank goodness hes wearing safety glasses.
Очень хороший пистолет!
i still have my mark III but I only clean it when I want to swear a lot.
Please remove the magazine before racking the slide....then visual and physical inspection.
👍 I believe that is the order in the manual
anyone else think this guy sounds like Jeff from Athlean-X?

Can you never zoom in so we can see what’s being cleaned!!!
Loud ass intros 🤦🏽♂️
Get a new camera man!!!
