TK can't book anyone without an old Indy storyline. What he does great is get two guys who had classic matches in the indies that people want to see again...what he does poorly is everything else
She was never good on the mic; but WWE, at least, knew how to hide her lack of mic skills with segments in which she didn't need to put real effort into promos, especially having Bayley by her side. In AEW, she's on her own with NO ONE who can bring anything (limited as it is) out of her on the mic. Bianca Belair (to put into comparison) has a similar character to Mercedes; but at least Bianca doesn't come up as fake and it's much more likeable.

I think unfortunately WWE just knew how to better promote her and utilize her talents. Unfortunately, AEW has no plan other than her being there and it has emphasized per flaws which as I see it are 1. Not a great talker. 2. Over concerned with her image, and not having matches. 3. doing the same character over and over. 4. And this one is more of a theory, but I think the reason she isn’t wrestling is because while she is very good in the ring, she tends to take bumps that she’s not built to withstand. Hence she gets injured like in WWE and new Japan, and I think AEW is scared she’s gonna have her first match and get hurt, so they’re trying to delay.
I don't care for AEW but I love Mercedes. I don't know how much Jericho does with the talent backstage but if Mercedes and Jericho were teamed up to spice and animate her promo... it would and should be fire. I'm just remembering all the times Jericho cut one on Stephanie I'd be on tge floor laughing by the end.

Mercedes/Sasha sucks, and has always sucked, and basically got lumped in with other more talented women because she happened to come up at the same time as them in WWE during at time when they (and fans) were trying desperately to change the perception/presentation of female wrestling, and thus criticism of any female talent was implicitly forbidden.

Don't expect her to come back to form any time soon if at all, rather, expect her to be a glorified mouthpiece like Saraya from this point forward.

He wants matches, and does lazy build up and anticipation to see a match. As you pointed out, story is we fought in japan, that appeals to hardcore audience only. You could add more compelling layers ot that simple story but its clunky and bad acting instead. Once she wrestles may change things, cause felt she was a superior performer to Charlotte and Becky, so lets wait and hope this wasnt a major mistake career wise for her.

She barely has any physical strength, lack of necessary bodily tension, she requires assistance by her opponents to properly execute most moves and her timing in the ring is mostly terrible too, and this whole „boss/swag“ thing is cringe. And look at her run in japan, everything there was totally forgettable and irrelevant. She took the opportunity to take home of what I am sure will be a good amount of Khan money, and who could possibly blame her for that, but if anyone actually expects anything noteworthy to come out of her in aew, then they are in for a major let down I’m sure.

That's it. You'll never see power moves or anything especially athletic from her. She's also well known for her botches.
