      You mean they never been a boxer...Coz there's a huge difference between the awareness of a boxer and reflexes and someone who just does some shadow boxing in his room..i seen some guys who never trained and they can still lay a good asswhooping on someone by a mixture of strength and fearlessness but a boxer on the other hand operates differently, it's precise moves and objectives, no wild swinging but going straigth for the jaw and putting that weigth on it, it takes training not just street fights...that's the difference i think, and what makes boxing even more effective

      @@jorgebush7519 it's still very handy, leg work is even more effective when you put your mind to it, or need it*....like a front kick to the knee or sweeping the front leg before throwing some punches hhhhh there're some decisive tricks to it..

    When I took Hapkido I remember the teacher telling us NEVER underestimate someone with Boxing skills. My Grandfather boxed in The Army when he was in WWII he showed me a bit how to use a heavy bag and my uncle was also a boxer but I'm no way a pro. Have to say I have respect for Boxers and what they can do in the ring. Never underestimate what these guys can do.

    Boxing is amazing, I have done boxing just 1 year with few sparring sessions which were wildly, full intensity but when I have been in altercation with 3 islanders which were very big and i knocked out one of them very quickly and dominated rest two I realized boxing is special, I hurt myself also.

    Hey coach so I started boxing at this place called sweatbox where they do group classes. Is this a good way to learn boxing? I feel like they don’t really stress technique all that much since I see some people punching completely wrong through a whole drill sometimes without criticism. In there defense it’s 1 coach and about 8 people in the class, I just feel like he tells us to do some combos and makes us workout in between then we pair up and spar. Should I sign up for some private lessons as well to get my technique down more or should I look for another place to go?

    • @300Roxas300
      @300Roxas300 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MxCars probably but at the same time I don’t want to take too much time from anyone else it’s an hour class and we work hard af for an hour with zero rest. I love the workout part of it it’s great I feel dead after and I feel like I accomplished something just want to go more into technique so I don’t get stuck with any bad habits I have. Maybe I’ll do some private lessons also

    As a BJJ blue belt i can tell you for a fact that jiu jitsu will not win you a fight v multiple attackers. In that scenario and form of striking like boxin'/thai is wayyy better. However in a 1 on 1 scenario especially if you can close the distance, jiu jitsu will guarantee you a win if the fight goes to the ground and it wont even be close. If you want to be a well rounded in self defence you gotta combine BJJ with some form of striking.

      Not on the street tho. And inside the cage it works because he can pressure the boxer towards the cage wall and then take him down cuz there is limited space. On the street that doesn‘t work that well and is more risky for the wrestler.
