look as much as i love dragon ball super, there's one thing i'd always love about z and movies is that you literally witness the destructive power of ki blasts just like broly's normal ki blast obliterated like more than the area of a large city and deep enough for the lava to flow out

It's important to know that in the original Japanese version, Goten is voiced by the same person who does Goku (as is Gohan). So when Broly is awakened it's because Goten is crying just like Goku did when he was a baby.
I think all male members of the Son family line are voiced by her. Gohan, Bardock, Goku Jr, all voiced by the same actress in Sub.
goku was definitely only there in spirit similar to the father son kamehameha in the cell saga, the concept is to boost gohan's confidence which helps putting all your power into the kamehameha

None of the movies takes place within the timeline of the main series. As Akira Toriyama explained, they're basically separate timelines of their own - all of the movies together have their own continuity.

This movie takes place right before the events of the world martial arts tournament in the buu saga considering how goku is dead after he gave away his life to cells explosion and gohan does know videl . Vegeta kinda quit when goku died so thats why he isn't there but he does step back in in the buu saga when he gets the chance to fight goku again

Bro quite literally took a piss on the Legendary Super Saiyan
This takes place after Goku was wished back for the world martial arts tournament but before Buu was revived and/or was possibly even known about.
Vegeta is most likely somewhere training away from Earth because he would've been there otherwise.
The reason Goku is still dead is because it was probably the only info on how the story was going during the Buu saga, because the series used to take breaks mid season so they could animate more episodes, so in the meantime, the only thing TOEI had to work with was what they knew at the time or they didn't want to spoil the series.
At that point, we didn't know Goku had SS2 or SS3 so regular SS was Goku's full power in the movie. We knew Videl cut her hair right before the tournament and that Gohan taught her about ki and how to fly, and Goten and Trunks didn't know about fusion....but the key is that Goten INSTANTLY recognizes Goku.
Vegeta was already dead, goku returned to otherworld already and gohan should’ve been on the supreme Kai’s planet
The family kamehameha is 1 of the best anime scene in anime history

This is why i love the movies so much. they always have such good tracks playing in them, but tbh i love this movie for the exact reason of the video title. Though i wish more people would react to these older movies on youtube also in case you missed it trunks ki blast at the end did do something. It stopped broly from adding more energy to his already gigantic ball of ki, allowing the kamehameha to push it completely back at him

Ya know i actually like seeing someone react to the whole thing. I know some reactors do things to avoid copyright, but damn half the time they cut out almost everything. They'll have something on screen for barely 5 seconds and then cut to another scene.
Broly The Second Coming would possibly take place before the World Martial Arts Tournament meaning before Goku was given one day on Earth for the World Martial Arts Tournament if it was canon or trying to make the movie canon.
Because Gohan has already formed a relationship with Videl,Goten/Trunks are shown to be SSJ’s meaning that Gohan had already knew that Goten was a SSJ.
You probably learned by now but during the first part of the Gohan vs Broly. Gohan IS Super Saiyan 2 and during the Family Blast he's SS1, people rely on the lightning too much sometimes. His hair has a tiny but accurate difference with his hair bang. Also count all Movies as thier own timeline. This could be seen as Goku goes back to Other world and Vegeta's Sacrifice worked on Buu and Babidi.
No people rely on a freaking hair bang too much when the hair is easily the most inconsistent part of the transformations🤣 in this movie Gohan is ssj2 because there clear difference between the hairs of his two forms in the same movie.
But there are still clowns in this day and age thinking Gohan was SSJ2 against Dabura just because of a hair bang, even though even the manga clearly draws Gohan in SSJ1, both the lack of lightning and also ssj1 aura design (the aura is drawn differently in the manga between the two forms), and to top it off, the manga does not have the same issues with the lightning of ssj2 like the anime does, as it is drawn.
Still, despite the evidence, two ssj1 factors (no lightning+ssj1 aura) in the manga against the one factor (hair bang), people just choose the hair bang because they are idiots lmao

I don't think that Goku was just an illusion, because both Gohan and goten saw him, also broly realized he was there. All three of them seeing the illusion at the exact same time is impossible
This was when Goku’s 1 day back to earth ended after going SSJ3 against Fat Buu. Trunks and Goten were told to gather the dragon balls in preparation for Buu killing more people. This was also during the 3 days that Goku told Fat Buu to wait for Goten and Trunks.
This movie doesn’t fit in the main timeline so don’t make it fit
It's funny how people in the comments are debating whether or not Goku was actually present even though it's never been confirmed. This means there isn't a CORRECT answer. People need to understand two things 1. Most Dragonball/Dragonball Z movies take place within their own continuity seperate from the main storyline as confirmed by Toriyama and 2. There are multiple errors in this movie based on information we know from the manga and anime.
For example, Shenron was never summoned and a wish was never spoken out loud yet the skies got darker and Goku appeared. The Dragonballs scattered after the fight which would imply a wish was made but technically Shenron was capable of more then one which at this time which is another indication that manga and anime continuity doesn't apply. The same thing is true for Goten knowing Goku. It just goes to show that the writers more or less had creative freedom and chose to put a twist on the proper way to make a wish.
As for the people still debating about Goku's presence. Keep in mind that at this point in time Goku would have had access to SSJ2 and SJ3 but he doesn't use either of them. With SSJ3 you can argue that there are physical limitations but that argument doesn't hold up for SSJ2. So the fact that he doesn't use either could imply he's only there in spirit. BUT there's also an argument to made for him actually being present. This is because Legendary Super Saiyan EASILY wipes the floor with SSJ2 Gohan and a tired Gohan never went beyond SSJ during the Kamehameha. So even with Goten's power included it wouldn't have been enough to defeat Broly.
So did Goku actuallly provide a boost in power by being present or was he only there in spirit for moral support? Questions upon questions but no answers can be provided. Only speculation.
He was never there,it was something similar to ssj2 vs cell as to where only the essence of his being or his presence was there or just an illusion by the wish,you can see that when Goku uses the kamehameha,the kamehameha remains the same in size

Just letting you know that final attack of trunks did do something it took the blast so broly could not push his attack again that gave Gohan, Goten and Goku the opening they needed to finsh the fight!

Actually one movie is considered canon, Bojack Unbound, it takes place immediately after the Cell games, because Gohan is still a boy and has Super SAIYAN 2 but he has to be reminded by Goku to get angry.....Goku is in the otherworld but comes across the dimension and actually punches Bojack at one point from pure rage ..it takes place during the 7 years...
As a real fan of dragon ball i watch everyting whit pleasure, there are no bad parts, theres just less good parts :)

One of Z Broly's cool abilities, being able to condense so much KI into such a tiny ki blast. He was able to destroy an entire planet in movie 8 with one the size of his hand. Something DBS Broly doesn't have from what we have seen anyways. Fits his lore of being a galaxy destroyer. Imagine a ki blast the size of a car or house, RIP multiple planets lmao
