Yukari's a bizarre character to play as, but not so much so that you don't have control over what you're doing. She has a wide variety of melee and ranged attacks with the melees having unpredictable range with her traditional habit of pulling whatever she pleases out of her gaps and the projectiles, while not wide reaching are extremely fast and powerful. Her specials are more for trickery though and controlling the battlefield with little attacks all over the place. However it's also important to note how friggin' slow she is as well being possibly the slowest character in the game even.
Reimu by comparison is much more well rounded boasting good range with her melee and both wide and focused projectiles. She doesn't really have any gimmicky strengths to focus on, or to keep in mind. However do note she does have a few teleportation moves that can keep opponents uneasy.

Yukari must have been having some pent up aggression towards those two sisters seeing as she couldn't resolve the problem for a while. I guess Yukari is the type that while smart doesn't like to solve problems that take up more time than she wants. That or she was VERY cranky that she couldn't hibernate due to the incident (plus seeing Tenshi)
Shion: How? Why aren't you affected by my poverty aura!?
Reimu: You made one fatal mistake you poverty god! One simple mistake! And that is because...I'm already poor! (Holding back her tears)

Something that never gets addressed that much is that Joon is also poor because, as Shion says, as soon as she gets any money she spends it frivolously. It doesn't really affect her tho, because she's super adept at mooching off other people.

Small note: the whole "positive aura" gimmick is that your spell cards charge WAY faster in the last segment, and you're apparently just supposed to spam them. That also explains the automatic card declaration at 13:53.

...okay but joke offense aside, boy does Yukari hit like a goddamn truck. And dear _lord_ her Final Word is the most amazing thing in the whole game. First time I got to see her, the actual song stopping made me reel back.

Ah, so in the end Yukari just invokes her ability to switch the borders. Surprisingly simple actually. Shion snapping after being ridiculed for so long is something I wish I could do (sans the poverty and aura thing). Never thought that there is another episode after this, but it makes sense all things considered.
Also I never really knew what Yukari's Urban Legend is, but that is seriously creepy xD

I have this crack theory that I've keeping in my head where Joon represents the rich and Shion represents the poor. When the rich oppress and mock the poor, the uninformed masses revolt and everyone loses. It's symbolic!
Yukari's Urban Legend is Teke-teke. Go look it up or something but the gist of it is it's a female torso ghost or something.
Yukari's Last Word timed perfectly with Lunasa's Solo.

One of the best final nosses of touhou , together with Sumireko , this battle jist feel so good , a serious battle with an actual string oponent.

If you pay VERY close attention to Shion’s projectiles one of them says the words: Vile, Loss, and Pain. Very hard to see though because they spin.
So let me get this straight, since you've canonically lost to Joon and Shion with the other characters, does that mean that they've robbed the audience multiple times before the final battle?
Correct. They apparently spent it all on stupid things, though. That's their nature: being able to take money but at the same time not being able to hold onto them because of Joon's bad habits and Shion's bad luck.
One would think those people would be smart enough to stop going to those concerts

Honestly, when I saw the "No one wins, no one finds happiness" line, I kinda wished Shion would say "We will all suffer together!" next.
Now with dramatic speeches like that, it kind of makes this one of those times when i wish that there were voice acting in these games.
"A Name Cast Off from the Edge" fits surprisingly well with Shion's solo fight, if you think about it.

I've noticed you didn't use a spell card. I played through this game last night and today, and casting Fantasy Seal saved my hide multiple times in the final phase of this scenario, and it was satisfying to use Yukari's finisher. It makes me wonder if you intentionally handicapped yourself.
On the other hand, I didn't know to dash through the bullets. Thank you for pointing that out.

In this game at least. I remember the SWR and Hisoutensoku sprites being a lot more expressive during dialogues.

What, the overlapping spell card declarations? That _is_ from the "official" translation. Part of why I had to use it instead of just the fan-patch is cause the fan-patch didn't take care of spell cards.

And I mean... some of the slides from some of the endings aside, that second is still the Staff Roll, not the ending. So I figure it's fine.
I suppose my main issue with the fan translation is that it makes story mode look much too messy, with text going outside the dialogue boxes and spellcard names having the potential to overlap. I just really like it when the game _looks_ good.
I think I might be content with it in versus mode, however, and I have no cause to object to anyone who prefers it. It has its merits! You, for example, have an easier time putting the card names in the description. Again, everything I'm saying here is personal preference.
Though I honestly wish they did a few other things with the translation. Maybe instead of putting English in the text boxes, leave them in Japanese and touch up the subtitles (which I think are stored as images in the game files? I haven't checked). I would also like to truncate the spellcard names so they don't overlap, even if it's a slightly less accurate translation.
Oh, and about the credits? That was a joke. I suppose that since the credits were meant for once you beat the game, they wouldn't really be a "spoiler?" I dunno, but it seems to be some weird logic like that.

Though, for what it's worth. It's my mistake, it was the fan-patch that had the spell card names overlap like that. However there's a bigger issue in the "official" translation. Said translation didn't even _translate_ the spell cards. You can set the game to English but all the spell cards are still left in Japanese.
As much as the "official" translation may be easier to read it's still both inaccurate and incomplete. So I still _really_ don't like it, but begrudgingly keep it up cause after a year, the fan-patch is _still_ obnoxiously hard to read

Next week, when you play the final stage, there will be quite a pleasant surprise for you in the final stage.
And with that, only thing that's left is the Extra Story. You know, I've realised that all the other stages you've done has been no death. But I really, REALLY want to see you do the true final battle without dying.
You know what? Why not! I commented here at the end of 2018, and I'll do it again at the beginning of 2019!
I really wish we were given more time to play with Yukari. It would have been really fitting to have 3 fights before the duel against the Yorigami sisters so we could actually adjust to how she plays.
These fights would have been against the Pure Fun Duo, Strength-Seeking Duo and Super Strong Duo, in that order. Each would have come to rematch the Yorigamis, and that would be a roadblock in Yukari's plan. Simple but functional filler plot.
This reflects the very first story of this game, that of Reimu/Kasen, and it gives a sense of how far the player has come. In fact, give each of these teams two spellcards instead of one, just to show how the player's skill has improved! (And make the final story actually challenging!)
Unfortunately, it appears this game was rather rushed for unknown reasons. I'm sure we all heard the story of how the game released without a complete story mode. I have to admit that seems pretty unprofessional, even by Touhou standards. I'm always surprised when games like this are rushed, as there appears little reason to do so. At least they updated it!
On a slightly related note, I would also like to emphasize that this game lacks any sort of tutorial, a feature that was present in ULiL. Since this game is even more complex, it would be much better to ease players into the game rather than just throw them into their first battle with no idea what to do.

I don't say it often because you play how you like, but use your bombs on that final spell, because holy crap it looked ridiculous trying to cut through that with your talismans - that's the intended way of doing it too, as your spell meter continuously refills.
Regardless though I am looking forward to next week. That's the one Story mode I can't beat on Overdrive, so I'm curious to see how you handle it.
This video was really helpful! So far, I’ve gotten the hang of Shion’s first two phases, but I’m having trouble with the last one (hopefully the last). For some reason, there are more projectiles in her third spellcard than the ones in this video (might be different versions) Also, I can’t help but notice your Reimu shot looks different from the one in my game. Maybe it’s just the same but with a different texture. Also, how do I last word? I heard every single bar has to be full, and then x+c, but it didn’t work for me. Maybe my copy is glitched? Also, can you spellcard with Reimu during this? Sorry if I’m asking a lot of questions, I found this video really helpful. Thank you for continuing to make playthroughs!

How far have you gotten in the story?
The title changes slightly as you continue to complete the story modes up to four times. This one's the last one you get after completing every story mode (you have to do so to unlock Overdrive difficulty, which is why you never see the earlier versions on my videos)

There's a program called thcrap that's used for patching all Touhou games into English. Though be forewarned, because of the nature of 15.5, that one's a bit more finicky wit hit's English patch (as you saw by the results I got)
