Love the steel gray
I’m right there with ya. Love this color!
Just changed my mind about mega ramps... Guess ill have to find a PJ somewhere in SC
I have had horrible experiance with Good Ride tires 10 ply. I had them on my travel trailer 36' with 3 slides. everyone of them poped on these Texas roads
Show the slide out ramps, that's a must
Unreal.
Looks good sir
TP seal of approval right there 👍😂
Load Mizer Wondering how much buyers remorse TP is feeling?
Carl Jones I’m surprised he bought another big Tex lol. I’m just wondering if single wheel tandems can’t hold up to daily abuse. I’d be interested to compare a tri axle single wheel set up to the tandem. But he’s non cdl so it would just be a waste of weight.
I love my pjs they’ve always held up well. We have 3. Great video bro💸🚛💨💨💨
The HotShot Haven that’s what I like to hear man. I’ve got a couple of boards that popped up but that happens, other than that I’ve had zero issues 👍
Load mizer, ditch the 10 ply tires asap and go to 14 ply. You will continue to blow tires until you do. Been through many tires and 14 ply always hold up even in hot weather.
It’s in the cart. Just waiting a little longer to pull the trigger. Not out of defiance I’m actually running them down so I can pull a detailed comparison for a video 🧐👍
@@LoadMizer 👍
Awesome trailer bro👍
Sweet trailer ,digging that gray
Sean Reyes thanks man 👍
Its good to have the gooseneck lock, but you have nothing for the bolts. I did repos for a while and I carried a square and round tube. If they had a lock did undo the bolts and slide the tube out and slide a new one in. It was never really hard to do
I agree. I got a locking hitch pin for the bottom of the coupler. It’s all deterrent though. I’m usually never away from my trailer long term. If somebody wants it bad enough they’ll have it lol.
I have a bolt lock for mine too... Have both the Blaylock GN lock like this one and another made by Master Lock...
I love PJ Trailers
Good looking trailer bro!
I have a question for you what would you charge to transport 2- 20 foot shipping containers combine grocery Weight around 24K from New Jersey to California 2905 miles appreciate any feedback.
I have had 2 PJ trailers 1 was a 40ft flatbed exactly like yours but older and the 2nd was a 40ft wedge. I absolutely love them they handled the loads awesome and never had any issues with either of them but I always made sure to stay ahead of maintenance on them to prevent failure's from happening on the road but I always carried 1 of each part for the trailer so I didn't have to rely on anyone if something did fail. I had 2 spare rims and tires with me. It saved me so much time to deal with getting tires or parts for my trailer at home then deal with people or companies that I didn't know on the road plus it saved me a lot of money. how do you like the PJ?
That’s the way to do it right there. Self reliance and forward thinking! So far so good. No mechanical issues at all with the PJ. Very pleased! 🙌👍
What's your total length with truck and trailer?
How do you deal with 65 ft law?
You have CDL or non CDL?
Nice Trailer!
does a guy necessarily need a 40ft trailer for non cdl
I have a question on when you was TP you already had a cdl so did you have a non cdl setup or cdl setup
I had my cdl setup. I ran my own plates and filed my own ifta since I was leased on. On the apportioned tags the only place he was listed was “carrier in charge of safety”. Other than that you can run your own tags and ifta being leased on. You do have to carry their insurance though. That’s the biggest thing.
When do you recommend a tire rotation for your trailer? I haven’t done mine
I usually switch the order of mine once a month when I grease my bearings. On a triple axle the front tire gets chewed up the most. I just swap the order around on each side. I don’t rotate side to side. I like my tires to stay spinning in the same direction at all times.
Where did you buy your trailer and how much did you pay for it ? I am looking for a 40’ also but I can’t find any, any tip will be appreciate it. Thanks
I had the same exact trailer for last four years. Nice trailer except the paint job was crap.
So far the paint is holding up great. This winter will be the test for sure. 👍
Drill 3/8" drain holes in each corner of the boxes
Bruce Arntt they have drain holes in the corners. I just don’t want my stuff getting wet and corroding.
that's non cdl?
No this setup requires a cdl
@@LoadMizer hey man I just was wondering, on average how many hours generally does it take to make $1000 net personal pay
And also rust, what can help to get rid of that. Sick stuff btw 👌🏼
Rust is just part of the trailer game. You can limit it by washing it frequently in the summer. Other than that a wire brush and some spray paint works 👍
Load Mizer, what did you use to seal the deck? I have a new gooseneck that I ordered due anytime...looking for some good options. Thank you & beautiful trailer.
truckguyjoe I just used Thompson’s water seal. Thanks man!!
Did you coat it right away?
How big are my options as far as freight with a 32 foot pj
You’re pretty decent on that length. Basically just won’t be able to haul a 40’ container but as far as options go a 32’ isn’t cutting your legs off too much.
Nice trailer
Thank you! 🙌👍
What neck length? Content is cool u n tow piglet b safe
Brett Reines neck length on this is 8.5 feet
Like your trailer better than TP's new one.
Chris Browne haha thanks man! These things get best to death though. I couldn’t imagine hauling single wheel tandems. I’m interested to see how his new suspension holds up though.
Load Mizer 😂 I interested to see why he needed new axles already
bryan p 🤭 shots fired 🤣
What did you seal the deck with?? I have a 2015 Maxey 25k 40GN.. If I happen to redeck it I might seal it.. I’ve run oilfield drilling equipment off and on since September 2014...
I just sealed it with Thompson’s deck sealer.
Do you think people could do this part time If you only work 14 days in each month?
It could eventually get to that point with the right contacts, but just starting out it would be really hard for someone to work half a month at a time and get by.
Is this pj trailer in particular a Non-cdl trailer?
It’s rated for CDL weight
Love the channel are you leased on with tow piglet also he is non cdl are you cdl on non. I’m retired from ac and thing of getting in to biz do you recommend cdl are not. I dropped my about 10 years ago and now I kind of regrets it.
CDL always gives you more options. I think if you’re going to do it for sure, don’t restrict yourself anymore than hotshot already is. IFTA and apportioned tags aren’t necessarily free. But it’s basically spending hundreds to make thousands. I’ll take that ROI any day. 👍
How often do you really utilize the entire 40 feet for loads ? i get that the containers are 40’ but I’m not really “planning” to haul them ... i been driving OTR on a flatbed for 23 years... owner op for 7 of them...
I usually ran out of weight before I ran out of length. The 40’ did come in handy though several times. Mainly to space the entire load back off of the truck axle. I consider the section behind the tires the diving board. I tried not to put anything heavy at all back there. It rode horrible and would constantly bounce. I would most definitely get a dove tail with ramps if I were to buy one again though. I missed out on a LOT of machinery because of the pull out ramps due to the angle and the weight rating on the ramps.
@@LoadMizer machinery... as in skid steer and mini excavators ? i currently pull cat dozers or a hand full of skid steers at a time or Deere equipment mostly. so I’m pretty familiar with the weights of them. Most have excellent rates from the manufacturer but fair enough from used dealers.
@@LoadMizer so, what length would you suggest?
@@LoadMizer I’m on the top of the mountain and trying to decide if i wanna go buy another K-car and a drop deck or a trailer for hotshot, i already have a Ram 3500 paid for, but i figured I’d see what your thoughts were since you did run OTR big trucks at one point...
Very nice trailer! I’m also in the market for a PJ. Did you consider the 6 ton axles? I’m trying to justify the extra cost.
WI_Ultra_Farmer hey thanks! I actually didn’t because I knew that the enterprise rental rail system was a 25k capacity so the extra weight wouldn’t have been used. If I were to buy a truck I would go with 12k for sure. I just knew I’d either rarely or never max out the 10k axles so I just went with those 👍
Was planning on ordering a 40ft gator but am hearing about these 65' 8" problems. Any solutions other that cutting off the bed? Spending 90k on a ram 3500 and cutting off the bed seems stupid. Any gooseneck shortener (instead of extenders)? I'd hate to get a 35' and lose load options. Can't find a reversible shocker system or extender I can turn around long enough. I hear PJ reduces neck by 8" but they're backed up 8 months or more on new orders (same with Diamond C).
That issue is generally only on the long beds. If I were buying a truck for this it would hands down be a cab and chassis. That way you can avoid the issue entirely.
@@LoadMizer Doing my research to get into this industry. Aking for clarification, by cab and chassis, you mean just the cab and frame?
If your spending 90k on a truck you would be better off buying a 18-wheeler and you can haul more. I have a older Freightliner and but a newer trailer. At the end of the day you need something in your pocket and a new truck is a huge commitment.
How much dose it weigh ?
8,200 👍
How much did it cost ?
I got this one right at $13k
@@LoadMizer nice I'm looking for one
gerard nothing but good experience with PJ so far 👍
@@LoadMizer Get to hear that I'm a new trucker
The trailer was supposed to have 14 ply tires that is why 110 psi. Either they were out at the factory or the dealer swapped them out. The grease zerks are press in, useless.
I just priced a 35' with 8k & hyd brakes @ $11,900
jason scales that’s not bad at all for hydraulic. My next trailer will definitely have hydraulic brakes and most definitely air ride.
A PJ or what name brand. I dont have experience with hyd brakes, do you prefer them?
How much for that bad boy if you don't mind
I was able to get this one for 13. Not sure what it would cost to order it with the options I had. This one was already on the lot for a while.
110psi is for 14ply
Yeah these 10 ply are rated at 80psi but I popped a couple early on as the temps came up in Arizona and Florida so I dropped the pressure to 72psi. Haven’t had an issue since.
Load Mizer 🤔 good tip, yeah heat killed a few of mine a week ago, have 14ply now and see how they last
I’ve got some in the cart but I’m seeing how long these 10ply last so I can do a review and comparison to 14 ply for CDL setup weight.
Load Mizer yeah i cant tell if my 14ply are better or wearing out faster then originals, but then again, being a newbie, maybe just the heat is eating the tires no matter what u have 🤷🏼♂️ but i also think bc i haul heavy on them also wears them more. Guess we’ll see. Have 3,000 mile on them, seems they might be wearing on the outside of them more then the rest, used gauge to check. Idk we’ll keep notes and maybe move onto different ones
bryan p keep me posted on them. I’d be interested to find out what your experience is with them 👍
What is the weight rating for your trailer if you don't mind telling me? Looks like a nice trailer.
Thank you, it’s rated at 25,000
Dealer swapped my oil bath axles to grease the day I bought my PJ @FAYETTETRAILERS.
I don’t mind the oil bath hubs. They’re easy to maintain and can give you a visual potential problem before a failure that otherwise would’ve gone unnoticed. If these start to fail me on a regular basis I’ll be switching to grease. Thanks for watching! 🙌👍
