- Bonners is a value brand with quite a decent range of products. Today I thought I'd give their minced beef and onion a go...

That would be nice in a giant Yorkshire pudding with some veg and mash on top like a cottage pie Yorkshire...a "Yorkshire Cottage" nom nom
I'm loving that idea I might even do it one day!
Remarkably I was just thinking that looks just like oxtail soup, and you said it, 🤔 maybe we are reading each others, tiny grey cells x ❤ lol. God bless
Well we are both Brummies Miss Dream :)
Good Afternoon Papparoni , thank you for another honest review and thank you for the shout out again ! our local poundstretcher have reduced their range of Bonners products to between £0.50p and £0.75p I have a Macaroni Cheese to try from Bonners which was £0.50p - I am glad you enjoyed the product we both know that at the price you can not really go wrong in these days of tightening the purse strings !! wishing you a great afternoon mate :-)
Cheers buddy, top heads up regarding these things, I'll be trying more. Have the best day :)
@@Papparoni Thank you Papparoni , my day started early with a laugh ! I went to the doctors for a blood test and the Phlebotomist greeted me with the words " Welcome to the secret Black Pudding factory " lol - the rest of the day so far has been a good one - I hope your day is going well too my friend !! :-)
That Bonners macaroni cheese was watery thin and not great when I tried it. Lidl's is the nicest in that price bracket.
@@grahamjenkinson3487 it's nice to know there are still people with a soh these days. I suppose it's perfectly plausible, as we are known as 'long pig' 😂🕴
@@Val-from-Leigh Indeed we are supposed to taste like Pork - :-)
It's the drama that I love, these reviews are addictive.
Ms Ms, this pleases me ;)
@@Papparoni Keep the reviews coming.
@@LivingInTheShade I shall Ms Ms, builders in today but another review coming tomorrow. I'll be on my piano under the headphones most of today!
Hi Papp, that reminded me of a proper meaty soup. I'd be eating that with big chunks of bread. A fine find Sir. Cheers, Ian
Many thanks Ian, I would say buttered baguette would go well with this :)
Put together with tinned potatoes and carrot would make a decent meal.👏
Absolutely Joe joe, £1.50 tops!
Surprisingly good then Pap, it's just a shame that both the Poundstretcher stores in my town have closed down, unless these crop up in B&M!
I think I've seen the odd Bonners in B&M Mr Atkinson, here's hoping for you :)
Damn.. you'd be hard pressed to find a can of that anywhere else for a quid! 🤑
Definitely gonna keep my eyes peeled for this. Cheers Pappa! 😃🙏
No worries HB, great value :)
Looks good. I haven't had tinned minced beef for many years. Exactly what I was thinking, cottage pie with some of that frozen mash and optional grated cheese on top. I really like tinned mixed veg in mince. I have to agree with Graham. Bonners is a good brand. I have tried a few things from their range. Great stuff and very good prices. Nice one Pappa 👍
Cheers Emily. I'm with you, bung some tinned veg and maybe tinned spuds in this and there's a quick stew :)
That looks great, Papps. Add a tin of potatoes and it'd be my standard meal from my university days. Cheers, mate.
That'd be ace with the spuds mate!
Used to be a Poundstretcher near me, dismal, depressing place, it didn't last very long, I'm amazed they're still going!
I must admit, a few of you chaps think similarly!
Oh steve I used to love pound stretcher but ours closed quickly too!
Extra meaty oxtail soup sounds good to me.
🎶🎹🎶✅✅✅
I reckon you'd be well happy with this then Val :)
Ahh, nice playing mate. / That looked really nice. I would put that on a split baked potato LASHED in butter - topped with melted cheese ! Mark.
Cheers buddy. I'm half lashed as it happens! :D
@@Papparoni me too. One of those days, so its the crazy Polish beer night :)
A couple of tins of that in a baking tray mash on top, bung in oven that would be lush 😋
I quite agree Mike :)
@@Papparoni Realised i typed that just before you said it ! 🤣
Another one that would be handy to have in your cupboard so I'll be looking out for these as I have mentioned used to always have the Tyne Brand of minced beef and onions or steak and onions in but they don't seem to be available anymore pitty they were amazing with chips 👍👍🎹🎹🥫🥫
Yeah! With chips sounds great!
I too miss the Tyne Brand version Robert :)
Economical and gnarless makes for a pretty great can! Sounds very nice indeed Pap!
Great for the money Rhubarb!
I'm going to look out for them
Don't blame you mate!
Yer that looks nice for a pound, considering that a tin of soup is around 60 pence , for the extra 40 pence more, it makes it woth paying that little extra more
Quite right Malcolm :)
Wow ok I am surprised. It looked good but I really wasn’t sure how it would taste. Oh I was just going to say that it would go nicely with some mashed potatoes. I love your laugh always makes me smile. Happy Sunday my friend
Same to you Jerri, laughing is good for the soul :D
That looks great for a quid! Even to make your own you'd struggle to beat that price when ya consider electric costs and other ingredients. May just give this a go with some mash and veg! Thx pap.
No worries jay, fill your boots mate!
Surprised! Bonners has a bit of a mystery reputation. No one even knows where they are from. I only found them at poundstretchers which is now closed .
Seems a lot of cheap shops are closing, bound to be first down ;)
They're pretty cheap but very nice.
@@VampireJack10 ok
Reckon a bit of Paprika, small Choped peppers & some seasoning you're not far from a Goulash type soup with that tin of goodness 🤔
Sounds great Matt, love goulash!
Bonners used to do tins of something like that. I got some from Thingmebobs, years ago.
@@Val-from-Leigh Thingmebobs!
@@Papparoni now part of QD Stores
@@Val-from-Leigh Never heard of them before so looked them up, close to me! :D
I like Bonners veggie bolognese and chili - both lovely. ❤
Good to know, thank you Jack :)
Good value and can easily be tarted up like you said. Nice revuew Papps. 🤣
Indeed, I do like to tart!
BTW... GJ is anuva Top food reviewer from Blighty.
Good review papp, what the best in your opinion
Thanks Stephen. You probably won't be surprised to hear that my favourite is the M&S one, however, this is more than good enough for the money :)
Could you please do a bit of Nirvana on the on the old JOANNA pappa.... Smells like teen spirit Maybe... Come as you are... Anything?
BTW.... Its worth a quid... All day...
I reckon so cobain, Nirvana deserve a blast ;)
@@Papparoni NICE ONE FELLA 👍😄👍
Nirvana on today's video mate, Feasters breakfast double sausage bap.
@@Papparoni nice 1 chap...I shall check it out Now.
Quite surprised that Poundstretcher sells something for a reasonable price. Last time I went there it felt really trampy and trashy yet more expensive than Tesco. Go figure.
I have no explaination Pirate!
Looks a little like dog food tho. I would have tried it just for the gravy (back in my meat eating days) and dip in some biscuits.
Biscuits? Mary, you trooper! :D
I'd have this on minted lamb burgers from farmfoods lol
My goodness that sounds surprisingly filthy and lovely at the same time Sarah!
@@Papparoni haha that's true just realized what I said lol 😆
Look, I know you've got to go and you're dying to go so taraaa.
