- In this video, we go to Lake Ilopango - one of El Salvador's many beautiful lakes! This stunning lake occupies the crater of an extinct Volcano with a not so stunning history. After the catastrophic and earth altering eruption in 413 AD, it formed Lake Ilopango over the next thousands of years due to it being a water volcano! We had such an amazing day around the lake and enjoyed a peaceful boat ride tour from our new friend Angel, ate fresh fish at a local restaurant, and even got in the water to swim! :)

Right behind where u guys had lunch was a public swimming pool. I went this past September 2023.. it was bad ass trip!! And I'm half Salvadoran . Let me know how u guys enjoyed it!
More than 200,000 inhabitants live in the drainage basin of Ilopango lake, El Salvador, even though high concentrations of boron (B) and arsenic (As) make this water unsuitable for human consumption.
Regarding the cone thing: In El Salvador by law you're required to have a cone and a fire extinguisher in your car at all times, just in case things like that happen. 😂

I just came from El Salvador, and I really didn't wanna leave, it is very nice place and the people wow so kind and very humble, they help you in whatever they can! I want to go back myself!! anyhow very nice videos, new in your channel!!! You guys should go visit Coatepeque Lake, Joya de Ceren which is an archaeology site, Santa Ana Volcano, and Pital cerro, truly breathtaking... Have a great time in El Salvador!!! Cheers!!!!

The Pupusas are AMAZING! But I don't think I'll eat another one after the trip for awhile because we ate them almost every other night lol

That's so beautiful, guys. I grew up in that little town of Ilopango. We lived just a few blocks from that lake, and funnily enough, the first shot of the lake you guys captured was pretty much our playground. We would go very early in the morning to take swims in the lake before going to school, and in the evenings, we would go and play soccer at the beach or catch fish. It was so different from what it is nowadays. I'll probably go back for vacation this year to check on my house and my grandma's house, which is still there in Ilopango. Beautiful video, guys! 😊
By the way, the island is not called Isla del Amor. I remember it being called El Chachaguaste. LMAO, people called it that way for the reasons the guy explained to you. We used to swim from the shore to the island and jump from the highest cliff. The rock formations that you saw are stone mines, or at least that's what they were when I was living there. You could see hundreds of trucks going in and out of Apacingo. That's the name of the town they were in. 😊

Saludos! 😊👋🏼 In Texas we feel very safe, but depends on where you are! You can find dangerous areas pretty fast. But El Salvador feels very safe and everyone has been very helpful and kind. I would say El Salvador is safer overall ❤️

I believe the boats get powered by gasoline, so I think it was a fair price
