Agree Agree Agree! 👍🏼
Probably one of the best camera sources for the best reviews.
*best Sony reviews
Probably not. DP, Gerald, etc.
@@CodyMBM thanks. I already bought Sony A6700. Was thinking of buying ZV E10-2 as a secondary camera but will pass on instead
The zoom rocker told me it doesn't care for you, either, Jason!!
I came here after watching your video where I nearly pressed the buybutton...and then this LOL so gotta wait bit 😂
I F-ROCKING hate it
@@JasonVong Would'nt you check your framing anyway before hitting the record button? If you realise you are zoomed in, just undo it and then start recording. Can't really see the big problem here.
@@JasonVong is the zoom rocker the same as on the fx30?
Guys just get the a6700🙏🏼 this ain’t worth it
Completely agree
Is it as light?
@arkphotog SMH too.
depends on where you live, a6700 is very overheat friendly.
I agree. This is a small cash grab for Sony
Because of the ibis I'm considering A6700 now. But the thing is,I always shoot videos with a tripod so I guess I'm getting the zve10 ii. Oh my! I don't know which one to get. Hahahahaha
Check the rolling shutter issue and see if its as present in 6700 as in the ZvE10, GL !
@@NEUTRALIZED15 oh so there is an issue with shutter speed on zve10?
I disagree that 10 bit 422 is only for color effects.
I use FX30 and always record video with these parameters.
I don't always hit the white balance and exposure compensation.
And it is these parameters that give you room for corrections - for example, when you enter a space illuminated by yellow light and you don't have time to weigh the white light.
No, you can't do magic with it, but you can move it to much nicer colors without it falling apart.
Just get the a6700. My favorite camera❤😊
Yea, because everyone has an extra $400 just laying around these days....
@@michaelbell75a6700 is 1200$ and this is 999$
Body only is 1200 and with kit lens it's 1400
@@jenavlogs11 Not in the US. It's $1,398 body and $1,498 with the kit lens.
@@michaelbell75 oh makes sense then
Not having IBIS is too much of a dealbreaker to me as well. Was on the fence of buying the a6700 or the ZV-E10II, but waited for the official specs. Long story short, just ordered the a6700!
haha I bought the a6700 2 weeks ago, I was stressing about having made the wrong choice but I finally did well here :) the a6700 is so good !
These cameras are two completely different price categories and target audience. You’re comparing the wrong cameras
You are never going to get a sub $1,000 camera with IBIS, especially from Sony.
Great review! I recently upgraded from my starter camera (the ZVE-10) to the a6700. When I heard about the mark II I was worried I might have jumped the gun- some of the initial predictions about the mark II made ir seem as if it might've trumped the upgrade to the 6700 (which I absolutely love, btw).Awesome to see it upgraded, but it's good to know I'm not really missing out on anything (plus I have IBIS, yo!). Love your channel!
you can't go wrong with jason vong ❤
The Sony A6500 and 16-50mm lens is a better choice for performance and money. I love my A6500 and I have owned many, many cameras. High-end and consumer cameras.
just because you own it dorsnt
mean its great. Actually the 6500 is pretty old by now, even the 6400 is better aside from IBIS, let alone the 6600/6700.
for videos better?
Bingo. IBIS was the main thing that was expected from Mark II as the more expensive cameras were getting it. Without IBIS, this is just a casual refresh that doesn't justify the added price. Almost half of the Mark I price added on top just for the 10-bit colour and 4k60 and the new UI that SHOULD BE BACKPORTED TO OLDER DEVICES as a software update. For a customer, I recommend Mark I or 6700.
I’m really frustrated that the touchscreen is pretty much useless on the Mark I :( I wish there could be a software update that fixes it, but I highly doubt it. Might be UI and better utilization of the touchscreen are things Sony would decide that sets the Mark II from the Mark I.
Thanks for the review with genuine insights!! And really amazing alternative recos. Still a great cam, and for sure will still be a hit for some, but gotta do a lot of work around without that IBIS.
I can't go wrong with Jason Vong.
But the pricing of the camera says "my wallet doesn't belong".
🤣🤣🤣
It's as easy as this: you get an affordable zve10 mark 1, or a capable a6700.
So $700 for a e10 with 16-50 lens plus kit, or nearly $1500 for a body-only camera. I think I'll just use my gimbal stabilizer mount on the e10....
Wowee, a new Vong Drop 🤩
lol I’ve been a little high watching both your last two videos….and every time you yell at Michael it trips me out and think this video is live 😂
This seems to be well thought out camera and nicely placed in their lineup. It solves most of the issues I have with the original, but keeping the dim screen may be a dealbreaker for me. You can forget about still photography on a sunny day at f4. But fast primes can turn it into a workable hybrid. EVFs can be pricey.
Such solid content lately brother! Watching start to finish at 1x speed
Oooooo when I was in Tokyo in May. I saw you filming. I guess u were testing this camera
100% agree with the zoom rocker!! I did this literally yesterday on my ZV-E1 for an entire video shoot :(
Nooooo!
Are IBIS and OSS really useful for walking/vlog videos? My fx30 is unusable for walking video hand-held anyway. My zv-e1 with electronic stab is better (even if stll far from an acrtion camera stab)
The TikTok ban explosion had me laughing, good one Jason! I'm sticking with A7C ii tho..
Great coverage Jason!
Thanks Diana!
Oh, and I would love for you to do a BTS of you creating one of these VLOGs, from planning and production and camera setup/settings to post. Would be interesting to see your process.
Thanks, this was really helpful.
I enjoy your channel all your tips and information. And you’re easy to understand and positive energy. I would love to go out and shoot some street photography. Thank you again sending you positive energy 🙏🏼❤️🤙🏼
still sticking with saving up for the a6700 .. its just more well rounded than the zve10 ii
depends on where you live, a6700 is very overheat friendly.
E10ii is more of a vlogging camera. It's meant to replace your smartphone
@@harryvuemedia5106 That a hard sell with no IBIS. I would even get a DJI Pocket 3 before this for vloggling.
if you use S&Q mode, you can push the camera to 4k 120fps :)
another sony moments that makes us say "WHY SONY, WHY?"
Different strokes for different folks?
I think this makes a great B cam for the ZV-E1 :)
You can wrong..love that slogan sir love it enjoyed your video have a great rest of your day... lol THERES NO IBIS i needee that laugh
Hey JayVee, You first sentence got me typing. Been following you for years and love the show. I'm 75 and switched from Leica lllrd with f1,2 Summicron (lux?) via a spotmatic and Sony a7r+a6000, and YES, I HATE TICKTOCK AND that dreadful portrait format as default. Thanks and keep up the great show!
Haha glad you took it lightly! It's all in good fun! Enjoy the Leica x Sony combo!
Bigger battery... oh yeah! I'm thinking of picking this up for a lighter option and for the high MP pictures (than the zve1). A zoom warning would be nice! Hope they're watching your video ;) I have accidentally recorded slow motion with NO audio too (on my ZV1M2), nice it's a switch! IBIS missing is too weird! NOW I'm leaning towards the a6700... the apsc lenses make the whole setup so much lighter...
Hi Molly, are you still enjoying the ZV-E1?
@@JasonVong sure am, got the 16-25 f2.8 G lens recently and love it (though I also got the Pocket 3 and have been loving it as a tiny on the go vlog cam too). But would still like a slightly lighter option at times with top quality and more MPs for photos...
Should I get a6400 or pay extra 250£ and get zv-e10ii? I’m doing both vlogging and photography, and planning on buying gimbal
Appreciate your candor in this first impressions video, Jason! Two questions: 1) if this were to be used as a webcam for a Zoom meeting for instance, is a capture card necessary or will a USB cable suffice? and 2) will the audio from say a Sony ECM mic on the ZV-E10ii be picked up by the computer? Overkill for Zoom calls, I know.
that intro hurt youngblood.. respect your elders LOLLL
All today evening I was looking at my ZV-1 after a year and see the video. That’s destiny!
I just picked up the 6700 a few weeks ago and seeing people say the 6700 is a better choice makes me feel good bout my choice.
It’s good update!🙌
4K60p 4:2:2 /10bit、NP-FZ100、Hold grip up
Not enough here for me to part with my money. Thanks for the video!
Daaaamn That's Luts!
Definitely wondering about the overheating. Recording a podcast with the version 1 dies after 1.25hrs and overheats about the same while charging even when using high sensitivity
Best review channel ever seen ❤ love from India 🇮🇳
How did you get your A6700 shutter to stay down? @23:30
The Mark ii is completely changed from the baby ZVE10, the new grip, bigger battery, fulltouch display, more practical features and lot more, the older model was super powerful too instead of just vlogging, the Mark ii will be a powerhouse and upgrade on the previous e10💪🏻❤️🔥
the zoom rocker on the ZVE1 was the absolute deal breaker for me. I just couldn't get past it. the only solution was a cage, which defeated the purpose of a small camera.
i was waiting for this to be my camera i learn on, but ill probably just buy the A6700 and wait for mark 3 hopefully with ibis and a viewfinder
Only issue is overheating. If you only shoot short 4k60 clips (less than 15min) then it's a fine camera. Stabilization is good enough even if it's software only.
Thanks for helping honest review.
Seeing that you need to at the least get the sony 11 mm lens with this camera because if the crop….this puts this camea and lens at 3x the price the DJI Pocket 3 and that incluses a wireless mic too!
I have the 6700, I’m here to laugh with your humor, keep it up
I agree with going with a6700
Bought the ZV-E10 two days ago before realising the II is releasing soon! Thanks for this video.
I create mostly fitness content and talking head reels. Very new to the camera world, I got myself a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens, I was wondering what you recommended as a tripod for mostly gym/fitness content and if I should stick to only prime lens or should I get a zoom lens?
I was very tempted to get the zve10ii as been waiting a year since seeing the mark 1. But the Ibis is a bit meh. And the 6700 is also weather sealed. So a bit of rain. I won’t be lost
Dear Jason i need small camera for landscspe, holidays and astro ( trough telescope ) What do you think? Zv m1, m2 , a6700 or a7c2 ? Or maybe panas s9?
Screen brightness to Sunny Weather is also available in earlier version. I use it all the time.
Yes but sadly disabled when shooting in 4K 😭
cant you use catalyst browse for stabilisation?
whats the difference between this and fx30 expecially if there is no overheating on this?
So in a nutshell, cripple hammer has hit this canera too hard which I'm not sure it can survive! And guess what? It has a $400 price bump too!
The price increases with little improvements (and big handicaps) seem to be a common trend.
I have owned the A6700 for 3 months I am happy with it has all my needs. Anyway, I was curious of the ZV-10 II as I expected the price the features are improved 10bitt, 4k60 but without IBS, Shutter dials, and no mechanic shutter. I knew, they limited the ZV line because, if it has all the features you should probably pay more than the normal. The ZV-E II is a good camera for new beginners for making films, photos, and vlogs. I'm not a vlog guy but if you wanna vlog In my opinion use the DJI 3 wide lens, easy to carry around.
which is better? SONY ZV-E1 or the SONY ZV-E10 II?
I can't believe how insanely different our overheating tests are.
This is literally the baby sony zve-1 . I wish I woulda bought this instead of dropping 2k on it
i literally just watched the premiere haha, i like the look of the new kit lens (although its just a reskin) but it's great for the vlogging community. thanks sony for 10 bit though.
If I remember correctly, I was told the new kit lens can do 120 fps burst shooting with the a9 III 🤣 so if true, it's more than a re-skin
@@JasonVong 120fps burst on the a9iii is absolutely crazy for that pancake lens!!! 😳
Thanks for this great video! Does it make a difference if you use an OSS lens with a camera body with or without IBIS? Like to they add up?
What shotgun mic would you recommend for this camera?
Well over a year ago I suggested folks go grab the old 10-18mm f4 OSS and/or the 16-35mm f4 OSS Zeiss. Good luck today. Prices already moving on eBay.
unless the $400 difference is a big deal for you, i dont think theres a compelling reason to not get the a6700 over this unfortunately without ibis /:
Did you also go to the Tanabata festivals and the Narita Gion Festival this month? There is also going to be a big fireworks show in Asakusa at the sumida river end of this month. Itabashi fireworks and Chiba fireworks in August 3rd.
Sadly missed them and will miss the fireworks too 😭
@@JasonVong I got to film with Japan Explorer the Narita Gion Festival. It was so much fun.
the new body looks so much more black😍
no mechanical shutter is a dealbreaker for still photography with most led lighting.
I found that banding with the old zv-e10 went away when i turned off electronic and silent shutter.
i use the first version with adapted vintage lenses and a focal booster to get (almost) full-frame field of view as an excellent budget still camera that does great video.
There were compromises for a $6-700 camera, mostly with the options and ui, but this new version with electronic shutter only would be a downgrade for me as a mostly still photographer who does some video.
For stabilization I use a high end gimbal stabilizer mount. Advantage that I can transfer to my other cameras (or even my phone with an adapter). Now excuse, me it's waaay past my nap time. I am 68 years old and need my nap time.
I've loved my ZV-E10 and was interested in the Mark II for a second, just to have. But not for over a 30% increase. Just need to be patient for a decent used FX3 still and jump on the FF train. Time = more saved $$$. Cheers.
Over here in the UK on Amazon it was £429 for Mark I, and at Wex photography the mark II is £925! The price difference is way off.
I didn't expect for the price bump
Can it shoot 10-bit in 1080p at 120 fps?
Hi, nice review. I have the ZVE10 original. Do you recommend upgrading to ZVE10 mark II? Or investing in a lens?
i have same question planning to buy the zve10, or is it worth it to upgrade to mark II
If you can afford the mark II, just buy the a6700.
Vs. Zv-e10 mark I, The mark II, losses the mechanical shutter, but gains the newer sensor that can do 4k60, 10bit HDR, less rolling shutter, can preview luts in camera.
10bit isn't worth it for TH-cam, what you need is stabilisation which this camera doesn't have. It's a spec bump but with no real usable benefits.
@@JonathanWillis a7iii or a6700? thank you! i need your inputs!
@@symonreypantilon5746 the A7 will bring all the big frame benefits, more bokeh, better low light etc. But it will be bigger, heavier, cost more not just the body but also the lenses.
Based on your test with the Laowa 9mm, I can guess that the Active Stabilization now works quite well with third party lenses... Does it?
The square frame that appears on older Sony cameras during clear image zoom is to indicate that it can’t do tracking auto focus anymore. That’s what I thought anyway.
That vertical side tripod mount is a no brainer really.....adding a cage to a 370g camera just kills the whole point
Nice job on the video. 👍 Wow, I'm surprised they added the larger battery!
What if the original zve-10 is half the price of the mark ii? Which one would you choose?
21:55 is that a phone or a monitor? and what specifically is holding it?
This might be a dumb question but what’s the harm of just leaving the product showcase mode on for the whole shoot? Especially if you know that you will be showing products here and there?
What camera you’re using to shoot this video pls reply?
U R are a serious GEEK!
Finally it came 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Yes...now the price of ZV e10 will go down and I can buy it.
Ibis is the deal breaker, I will get 6700 instead 😅
If all you care about is shooting video, this is a really good camera, but for most people the A6700 is the better choice.
I didn't find something about rolling shutter comparison both with zv-e10 and fx30
Is it better than a6400 for photos?
I'll buy the a6700 instead of this.... I was waiting.. waited for nothing lol
if you are just getting into content creation and want a rather large step up from your iphone/phone footage, you really can't go wrong with this zv-e10 for $999 on the body or you could opt for a second hand sony a7iii body in great condition for ~$900-1000 these days. can't go wrong with either choice.
If you are prepared to use a webcam, I've seen the insta360 link and Obsbot tiny 2 (£250) , get very close to the Zv-e10 mark I + sigma 16mm F1.4, minus the bokeh which you can add in software.
Bro..Suggest me best content creation and photography balance full frame DSLR under 2000$ .. Kindly reply
I want this camera, but wow only the OG ZV-1 has IBIS.
16:14 where is this place?
Sony does some great things with their camera. I wish that EVERY camera manufacturer had power zooms and rocker switches on the bodies, and my Panasonic cameras are envious of both the autofocus and better battery life. But man, I couldn't even think about buying this camera due to the lack of IBIS and the overheating issues. Since Sony still makes the a7 III (yes, the a7 III), why not put an aps-c sensor in to a7 III body to reduce overheating and provide more buttons???
@JasonVong just thinking when it comes to ibis yet it may seem like a huge downside for a vlogging camera not to have its own stabilisation mechanism inside the body maybe the tech team and engineers considered that more and more people would be using a very compact gimbal anyways?
Always appreciate it when big camera reviewers like yourself are honest about a camera, and don't just say "it's the best of the best" even when it's not.
So yeah, the lack of IBIS, lack of mech shutter in a "also-photo" camera, and $999 price, can make it a tougher choice for some people.
While the updated menu, touchscreen, vertical shooting, 10bit, and especially the bigger battery (double the capacity) are great things.
Gerald Undone said it would overheat after 22 mins at 4k 60fps in ideal conditions (indoors). The overheating is currently the only issue for me to not buy that camera and you are telling me it doesn´t overheat. I´m so confused now
I have the 6700 and that zoom rocker is an on off and inside my bag it always turns on and drains battery and overheats by the time i realize it
