As a security officer. I can tell you most hosts dont want security. They want the people there to have a good time and if security is breathing down everyone's necks that isnt always possible
Plus, you never know if someone's gonna try walking onstage. And since its an open stage you dont usually notice it until its already happening

dude...this guy rushed at least 5 stages in germany. Stage rushes and field invasions are completely normal in germany and its even sometimes officially approved. We dont carry guns with us in our free time though. That would be insane...

@@tarun_sanu Oh yea they did reveal that at E3, though that was 15 years ago and Rockstar as a company grew a lot bigger and became more popular since then. They wouldn’t even need to waste their budget going to a game event to announce their games anymore since an announcement from their own outlet is enough to market their game and generate a huge amount of hype, so they haven’t really showed up at these events since.

I get laughing at it, but this is actually a major issue. Tekken devs have addressed online harassment as it relates to live events and security lately as well and it's a really, really bad thing that someone was able to just walk up on stage and make contact with Geoff.

Everyone is freaking out about the safety concerns but the issue I take from this stunt is that fact that this guy just ran up in the middle of the segment and bruteforced the joke in.
2022's Bill Clinton moment was so iconic and "special" in it's own right because that kid somehow blended in SO WELL with the energy that was happening, patiently awaited for his turn to speak (even though yes he did have to butt himself in with the "Eyy my turn, my turn" after Miyazaki finished), said his line, and then the moment was over. 2023's guy? Not the same tone or energy whatsoever, literally just ran up the stage and yelled more in Geoff's face than into the actual mic. Really disappointing all around.
This guy actually did the same thing in other german shows. If you search for "GTA6 Flitzer" you'll find that he was at "Schlag den Star", "Doppelpass", and the "DSDS Finale". He's just out for attention. Really confusing to me.

Im completely over GTA VI. The way rockstar has treated us and turned into greedy jerks just turned me away.
The trilogy was outsourced by a terrible studio, Online was milked to hell, Red Dead 2 was ignored, The Warriors is broken on PS5, and they still haven't put the original GTA trilogy back on the PS Store.
I personally don't care about them or anything new they give us, Red Dead was a treat but not for $50. Im staying in the past and not getting in line for that eventual success

Despite obviously needing a security upgrade, Geoff handled that with absolute grace, dignity and class. Not something I thought I'd be saying ten years ago. Really great seeing him evolve and grow over the years.

Gaming is one of, if not the hugest form of entertainment in the world. Enhanced security at gaming events on a scale like this should probably be paramount in the future. A medium as big as gaming is bound to attract plenty of weirdos. Gaming and security going hand in hand seems like a no brainer.

I loved the Bill Clinton kid's prank, where he waited till the end to not interrupt anyone.
It was so well done!
He spent like minutes on stage and we all thought he was part of the team and his acting was so great.
Then he spoke the most confusing sentence and left everyone baffled for a moment.
It was such gold and even though you may criticize his prank too, he didn't really steal anyone's big moment and actually kind of immortalized the whole clip of From Software winning their GotY award!
But this? This is boring and disrespectful, considering it's Todd Howard's first time at Gamescom, so that he can talk about Starfield and this dude goes up and interrupts Geoff during Todd's introduction, to ask when he can play a game, made by an entirely different studio.
It's commendable to have the guts to do something like this, but if you do it, then at least think of something clever.
This was just a disturbance.
Goeff still had to stand on stage for while and doing it that well is already a difficult job as is.
At least, this may have acted as a wake up call to the organizers to improve their security.
