    Love the integrity and honesty you have with your channel and your reviews. It is much appreciated! Have you ever tried to use the Tee Claws with the Birdtees? I see a lot of comments from other people that it is a must have product. Thanks again!

      Thank you so much for that comment! I’m really glad you’re getting some value out of the videos. I haven’t used the Tee claw product either. But every comment I’ve ever seen about it has been very positive. They are probably worth a shot! Thanks for the feedback!

    My son got one, agree so much the stance mat is great! But for hitting, if you hit fat that sturdiness is a issue. Beat up my old joints he bought and cut in a hitting strip. Gave me the cutout piece. I did a diy holy grail style mat from it, works very good with a little give now! My favorite surface, built 4 inserts for mine.

      I really appreciate you sharing your experiences! I’m curious to see how it works for me over time. I know all of these things can be very personal, but I’ve been pretty susceptible to tendinitis in the past. If I start to feel any pain, I’ll have to cut it short! Thanks again.

      So glad you mentioned your holy Grail style Mat and you put four inserts in.
      Can you please tell me what they are and where you got them and why? I've been looking for info on adding different hitting mat inserts for rough and Sand simulations.thanks

    Just stumbled across this video while researching mats. I don't know anything about you or your game, but the fact you took responsibility for your screw up and want to set the record straight makes me 100x more likely to believe you when you do a review.

    Thanks for the videos, appreciate the honest feedback. When you released your first MM video you were testing the MM after using the EZ Tee Hybrid. I'm currently looking at purchasing one of these two mats for my garage Sim and was wondering which you would prefer/recommend and why. Thanks!

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When comparing these two products that you’re referring to, I very much prefer the EZ Tee hybrid. The main reason is they perform similarly, but the EZ Tee hybrid doesn’t have the mess associated with it. Thanks for reaching out!!!

    Great review as always. I bought a monster mat recently and after only 150 shots, there is a deep ditch from hitting shots. Unfortunate that a $400 mat doesn’t seem like it’s going to hold up very long. Like you said in the beginning of the video, they are very comfortable to stand on, but a $400 stance mat that you have to cut a hitting strip into is ridiculous

      Man I’m really sorry you had that experience. I didn’t use it long enough to detect the issue you are experiencing. Maybe reach out to them and see if they’ll replace it? Good luck and thank you for bringing up your experience. May help someone else!

    Missed this video before I commented on the EZ Tee video… this is exactly the decision I’m between. What’s your pick between Monster and EZ?

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’d pick the Ez tee hybrid over the monster mat because of the mess. However I’d you are using a hitting strip, check out my Bullseye review. It’s what I use now and I have zero joint issues. First time in years I can truly say that! Hope this helps and thanks for the question!!

  • @billallen5873

    What size do you recommend for a mat? My other questions do you recommend the monster mat or the Ez tee hybrid mat? Any reviews on net systems to catch golf balls?

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I like them both but for different applications. I like hitting off the Ez tee hybrid better, but I prefer the monster mat as a stance mat. The ideal situation would be to cut in an EZ tee hybrid into the monster mat which you could do after awhile. The monster mat is not bad at all, but I really got sick of the debris that comes off the mat. It’s pretty messy, but it’s also a very attractive price. So, comes down to personal preference I’d say.

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as size, 5x5 or 4x6 will work fine on their own.

    Question - what is the thickness/height of the monster mat? Asking because I purchased a SIG Pro Softy (which I really like) but it’s about 3-4 inches thick - and when you have a simulator in your garage, ceiling height is at a premium. Thanks for the video!

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The overall height is 1 5/8”. I haven’t had a chance to play with the Sigg pro softy at all. That is a really thick mat! Thanks for the comment, and please let me know whether I can be of any more help!

      My first mat was The Monster Mat, returned for the Softy and it’s a night and day difference.
      MM was a pure mess and tough on the joints, after getting the Softy there is zero mess, looks cleaner and is much more forgiving on the body.
      Yes size wise it’s about double, and I was worried my driver would be hitting the ceiling but thankfully it wasn’t.
      But if height is the issue the MM will give you and extra inch and change … but the mess it makes was enough for me to return.

    • @bougie_kenny
      @bougie_kenny ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisimes478 Thanks Chris - that’s my issue. The SIG Pro Softy lifts me so high that I can’t clear my woods from the ceiling at all. My wife jokes with me and says I’m stepping up on my stage and we should use it for karaoke. LOL I love the Softy - it’s forgiving, doesn’t move when you swing, but I can’t really use it. It’s pretty damn good though.

    Im am looking to buy either the ez tee hybrid or the monster mat, due to my budget, which do you like hitting of more?

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer the Ez tee for hitting but I prefer the stance feel of the monster mat. If I had to go with one or the other, I’d probably go with the ez tee hybrid just because of the mess from the monster mat. There’s a link in my comment at the top that shows what I mean after three weeks of use. Having said that, the monster mat is a solid product, easy on the body and is very affordable. I guess you just have to weight out what’s most important to you. Thanks for reaching out!!

    Is this the Monster Mat made by SimTurf (the same as Ez Tee Hybrid)? Or is it made by another company?

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a different company. This is safe, play golf. And to be clear, SimTurf is a distributor for synthetic turf international, which is the manufacturer of the EZ Tee hybrid product. Thanks for the question!
