    As far as I can tell this is the only mat that has a two foot wide hitting strip, vs 1 foot wide for most (like sig pro). I really want the sigpro 4x10 but I need to accommodate both right and left handed players slightly offset (protee launch monitor gives a two foot wide hitting box). Wish manufactures would figure this out more!

      Yeah it's a bummer. You can also look at the tee line style mats like the SIGPro Commercial Tee Line mat friendlygolfer.com/recommends/sig-sigpro-mats/ or the Fiberbuilt Performance Turf.

    After watching both of your reviews on both mats, I ordered the Sig Pro 4x10. Thanks

    did you like the sigpro better than the carls advanced hitting strip? thanks

      @friendly_golfer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did. I liked the Carl’s advanced as well but for me the SIGPRO Softy was the best feeling and the right mix of realism and softness. I’m keeping the player preferred but mainly because it checks more boxes for me in my space.

    I have grass hitting mat from Fiberbuilt. Considering this one as a replacement. Do you still recommend this mat?

      It's a great mat but ultimately I did not keep it because I was worried it was just too firm. Perfect strikes feel great but anything else was a little too much impact and I was worried about my elbow long term. I think plenty of people would have no problem with it but some would.
      I kept the SIGPro Softy as I felt it was the best balance of softness & realistic feel.

    New to getting an indoor sim going, and this mat is on my list. I really like the stance area and the rubber base. Do you think the preferred hitting strip could be substituted for another insert, such as an EZ tee, etc?

      @friendly_golfer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not really…this one is really made to fit together and I can’t see a way to drop in something else. Their grass series mats have a removable strip that you can drop in some other types of strips a little easier but not this one. If you need more detailed advice feel free to shoot me an email. Any recommendations for what mat will perform well outdoors? This will be on a deck and I would leave out most of the year so it will get a good dose of rain.

      I believe only Fiberbuilt, TrueStrike and EZ Tee Hybrid can be used outdoors.

    After some time with the FB player preferred mat, would you do it again? How is it wearing? Fast, normal? Thanks

      I ended up keeping the SIGPro Softy long-term so I only used the FB player preferred for a few weeks. Overall I was just concerned it was going to be too hard on my elbow so I went with something that felt much safer. I still wonder if it would have been ok though because it was really nice. No regrets with the SIGPro either though.

    I just ordered the player preferred mat. I appreciate your review. So the adjustable fiberbuilt tee works with the player preferred? On the website it says it doesnt. Do you prefer the adjustable tee, or the one where you just put the real tee in?

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The adjustable tee fits in the holes for the player preferred but I don't think I hit any shots with it. Not sure why they would say it doesn't work as its basically the same as the tee holders that come with the mat.
      I used the adjustable tee with my fiberbuilt grass mat and I liked it because it wouldn't go flying around the room. With the player preferred I mostly used Birtees sitting in the middle because the tee holes were so far on the right side.
      If I were you I would see what you think of the tee holders that come with it and then order something else if you don't like it.

    Currently using a crappy 3 x 5 hitting mat from Acadamy. It puts a beatin on my elbows. With that said…you having played both would you go with the preferred or the grass insert from fiberbuilt? Or do you think the softie is best overall stance and hitting? Do a comparison vid man! lol I’m torn!

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      lol. The grass and the player preferred are really total opposites. I would say go with fiberbuilt grass if your concern above all else is injury prevention. Fiberbuilt player preferred was probably the firmest of all the mats I tested. It absorbs some vibration but doesn't have any cushion to hit down on. The SIGPro Softy was the best of both worlds to me which is why I ended up keeping it. It feels realistic (as much as a mat can) but also has plenty of cushion to hit down on.

    Hi. Can you confirm if the hitting strip surface is lower than the surface where you stand? I understand the rubber guard is lower on the hitting strip than the guard on the standing mat.

      @friendly_golfer  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No it's pretty much level with the stance mat. You're correct about the dip in the rubber.

    For a fellow elbow sufferer (from a year with a CCE) would you say this would be a good move or would you go straight to the sigpro softy?

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would stay away from the Player Preferred if you already have elbow pain. It's very firm. I believe it's designed to reduce vibration of the shaft but there's still no "give" to it at all. SIGPro softy would be safer.

    After watching all of your videos on mats. I am now torn on what to get? I plan on hitting a LOT of balls and playing Gspro with Uneekor Mini. I am torn between Fiberbuillt Player Perferred, Carls Hotshot and or Indoor Golf shop SigPro Softy. Witch one would you go with? Please help? Can i order a mat throw you?

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really need to do a roundup video where I sum everything up. I would recommend the SIGPRO Softy to anybody and that’s what I ended up keeping for myself. The player preferred is an awesome mat and I love that its got a huge hitting area. I was just too concerned about my elbow because it is pretty firm compared to all the others. The Carl’s Divot Action (advanced) was really nice and would do well if the SIGPRO softy didn’t fit your area for some reason.
      To sum up, the SIGPRO Softy was the best all around for me and I liked the feel the best. You can use the links in the video descriptions to order and I’ll earn a commission at no extra cost to you!
      Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

    This has been really helpful! Thank you! Great review on all these mats. Question: have you had any experience with the County Club Elite. Reviews are all over the place for that one. Keep up the great content!

      I have not ever tried it but I saw so many reviews saying it caused lead arm pain that I skipped it.
      Glad you’re finding them helpful! Thanks!

    New subscriber - glad I found your channel. I plan to out this in my garage then park car over it at after playing. Can tires run over the sides (not strip) without damage in your opinion ? Hope so!

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well the turf just lays on top of the rubber so you could roll that up and set it aside. The rubber tiles I would say no problem, they are really heavy duty. The only thing is there's about a 1" lip around the outside tiles that holds the turf in place. I wonder if the car would crush that lip. I would call fiberbuilt and ask. They would probably know if it would hold up or not. If that doesn't work out I would check out the SIGPRO Softy. It would be easy to pick up the whole mat and store somewhere on the side of the garage.
      Thanks for watching and subscribing!

    Do you know if you can purchase the rubber base and the strip? I have a stance mat that is new and I like already.

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can purchase a replacement strip but I don't think it will work well with any other mat. It is one piece with the rubber on the bottom and has rubber tabs that stick out in the 4 corners to attach to their rubber tiles.

    What is that putting turf you have in front of the impact panel

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was just a piece of landing turf that came with a net return package from rain or shine golf. It didn't give any details on the manufacturer.

    Does the player preferred have an option for just the hitting strip? or is it just for the whole mat? would like to be able to swap between the sigpro softy strip and this one to test them both.

    • @friendly_golfer
      @friendly_golfer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, it’s made to be attached to their mat. Both hitting strips are very different dimensions as well. If you called fiberbuilt you could order just the hitting strip as a “replacement” but I don’t think you could attach it to anything. Maybe that would be enough to try it out but I’m not sure about their return policy.
