I always thought The Long Halloween was a Scarcrow centered story. Man, was I wrong on so many levels.

My interpretation of this is that Hilda was killing until New Year's, when Harvey failed to kill Alberto. Since Alberto escaped, he started committing the Holiday killings, particularly Maroni's men, the people in Maroni's restaurant, Maroni's father, the coroner, Carla and Maroni himself. Afterwards, Dent only killed Falcone and Vernon Fields.
So basically:
Gilda: First Halloween - Christmas
Harvey: New Year's and Second Halloween
Alberto: Valentine's Day - Labor Day
This was a damn good murder mystery. When I first read it that ending reveal blew my mind! I heard the Saw theme in my head. You know the one that plays at the end of the first movie when the twist is revealed? That one. I love this story and you can see elements of it being used in The Dark Knight. Particularly the Dent/Two-face stuff
+Altar360 I really liked it too, but the ending is a little tricky... [SPOILERS] Theres no way a simple housewife could kill all the victims by herself, i always believe that she only kills some of the victims and the others were victims of Dent.

Bat man the long Halloween is one of my all time favorite comics of all time and of crourse the killing joke being my favorite joker story but the whole story as a whole is so dark and gritty and and so compelling with a absolute brilliant twist at the end what a master piece
I don't know how Arris got Robin to do a cameo at the beginning. He must have some great connections.

I absolutely love The Long Halloween it's one of my favorite Batman stories. The only problem I have with it are the super villains, because they feel out of place. For people who haven't read it i would highly recommend it.

I'm still confused who killed who and who is really Holiday, even after reading. That's why I went here, but I'm still confused.
+Afonso Lucas either both the son and dent killed members of falcone's family or dent did it all and the son made himself a scapegoat. Dent most likely did it all by himself though.

I've never read this story, but I think that everyone the mobsters sent or was trying to uncover Holiday was killed to cover his tracks.
Afonso Lucas reading the story myself I always thought that Alberto killed everyone and two face only killed Carmine falcone. There wasn’t really much suggesting that Harvey killed all of them and Alberto did nothing, the only thing I didn’t get was Gilda at the end of the novel idk if she was involved with the murders or what because in the next novel dark victory she completely disappears and nobody knows where she is
One of the reasons Batman is my favorite superheroes is just how good his story lines are.

+Theodor Mauros I didn't like it at first either but eventually got sick the ultra sleek Jim Lee (and knock offs) style and started appreciating Sale's more raw and 'sketchy' style. It has a nice blend of the old comic sketch style and the more modern sleek and epic style. But to each their own.

personally it's really batman's design I don't care for. since the long halloween is the sequel to Batman:year one and year one was suppose to be somewhat realistic and batman's costume and design in long halloween is leaps and bounds away from that compared to his year one look.

More Batman comics like this please tired of him fighting Joker for the 100th time or jerking around with intergalactic super beings in Justice League. I want Batman to solve a crime a mystery story like this, court of owls and black mirror.
i agree more storys like. more grounded and not just oh no jokers escaped oh gees i wonder will joker kill some random people then batman beats him up or kills one of batmans family or close friend before batman cripples him and thinks im going to kill him this time or doesn't. Or and this is my favourite fight an evil superman or his mind control. We just need more store of batman solving murders and mysterys

@@christianalexander579 The point is as much as ppl do love a Joker story. At times, some of the writers can get so overzealous with the Joker stories that the other Gotham rogue members go dismiss without their own stories being flesh out and written for comic book fans to enjoy.

I just recently got back into collecting comics and graphic novels. I have Long Halloween and Dark Victory. Both were amazing. I wonder if you know if there are more out there that are similar to these kind. I enjoyed these the most. Dark and gritty and realistic and suspenseful.

He has the best stories. Most heroes have up to 5 noteworthy ones but Batman has more than 10 masterpiece storylines and many other great ones. He isn’t my favorite superhero but he’s without a doubt the best.

Batman's cape design in this comic is really cool. It kinda reminds me of Spawn's cape.
I have to say Jeph Loeb has a lot of hits and a few terrible ultimates stories, and The long Halloween is up there for one of the best ever.
So that's the real Two-Face origin. Interesting stuff, but I do love the movie's story. Gets the tragedy of a good man turned to evil perfect.

I think It’s more about Batman living up to his title as “Worlds Greatest Detective.” Instead of the usual beating bad guys on a nightly basis.
I have never read Batman The Long Halloween .Well maybe a little that came with my Batman Begins movie .At the time the two disk dvd had the Long Halloween in it .And I see Arkham City Robin above on the screen .

I'm hear after learning the famed storyline will actually get adapted into a an animated film. Now this movie will split into 2 parts aka two separate films with the first film focusing on Batman, Harvey Dent, and Jim Gordon's efforts to stop the Holiday Killer, and the second film will focus on Batman's climatic Halloween Night showdown with Two-Face.

I had a Blast with this comic, beeing a Detective enthusiast myself.
My First suspect was Alberto, he just seemed so shady and quiet, always in the back but still strongly mentioned.
He can have alot of reasons as the heir to the Falcony. And he could get close to the familly without beeing suspected. But then he was shown as beeing killed so I
dropped it.
After gathering clues I suspected Harvey. As soon as we learned the paterns and especially because we saw a hand in a yellow-ish light polishing a .22, the murder weapon, with a baby bottle nipple next to it on a table with tools and scratches on the table itself, a few pages later: Harvey in the Basement, in a yellow-ish light in front of a scratched workbench.
Harvey was also missing or late most of the Holiday nights.
I stuck with that through the comic, occasionally suspecting some other Familly members but they got killed so...
Then it was revealed Alberto was Holiday (or was he ?) but I quickly caught up that it was impossible, or at least that he was not alone, because his Aunt was there when he faked beeing shot wich would be impossible alone.
And the end was a little confusing, apparently The Dents were both "Holiday" so turns out I was partially right at least.
What did you guys Suspect ?
Or was it just me who played Detective like the weirdo that I am ?
Also all the "2"s (Shot TWICE in the Head, .22) wich links to Harvey's obssession.
That’s the fun about detective stories, the mystery surrounding the story is compelling
