This was quite the climb, full of extremely steep rocky exposure with snow and ice to spice it up.. I don't know how you got across that one portion? I kept thinking, I hope you don't have to return the same route. I'm glad you had an easier descent. Beautiful views of the peaks and lakes below.
Thanks very much Vickie. I took a direct line from the summit down to the lake that drops nearly 2500ft in less than a mile. It was loose talus slope and took me well over 1hr, but still probably faster than taking the standard east ridge down and 2 miles of road walking back to car
It speaks highly of you that you take the difficult route instead of the easy route. But I suspect when you are my age you will be taking the easiest routes.
Thanks. As an empty-nester for a number of years now, I’m not young anymore. Thankful I can still do the harder stuff today and will try to enjoy it till I can no longer do it safely
Wow; quite an adventure! I thought of the old sayings "We're almost there," "It's just ahead," and "I think that's the summit."
Thanks Mark. This may be my last outing above 13K’ till next Spring as winter has settled in finally in the high country
