Thanks for the video. I’ve climbed Blanca but want to do the Little Bear Blanca traverse - the video you took showing the climb up LB and showing the traverse provided great intel for planning. Thanks!
That was one steep gully. It looked like you were vertical through the class 4 section. Not a great place for water running down either. Glad you both had a successful climb. Congratulations! Looking forward to the next two summits.
Thanks Vickie. All 3 of us had over 50 14er summits to our belt and we all agreed the Hourglass Gully was the most dangerous section we have climbed so far. Glad to got it done. Next time we’ll do the traverse instead which seems probably a bit safer than downclimbing that gully
Hi there. Thank you as always. Yes it’s sort of my friend’s last CO 14er, as he has only two private ones left, Culebra Peak and Mt Lindsey. He doesn’t like the idea of paying $150 to climb Culebra, and Mt Lindsey is currently closed above 13000ft by the land owner. It’s a shame that a person can decide to close off a 14er for no apparent reason (the liability issue has been taken care of by a new state law passed last year). I’m hopeful organizations like CO 14er Initiative can help resolve the issue with Lindsey. If we can climb Lindsey again I’ll be glad to pay $150 to get Culebra as well
The Hourglass Gully looks exhausting and dangerous. I’m glad you survived to climb another day. Thank for the thrilling entertainment!
YW. Glad you enjoyed it
Very intense!
Definitely challenging but it’s a fantastic summit! Thanks for watching

@@AV4Him thanks for watching. Glad this video is helpful and good luck with the traverse
The Sangre de Cristos are so cool! The Hourglass section looks super fun. Great Job!
Thank you. The Sangres are like nothing else, a narrow, dramatic range rising 6-7000’ out of desert floor

Congratulations on the summit! The climb up the gully made me sweat. Was this your friends final 14’er, 58/58?
