      @@umershaikh7179 it's not always smart to play "left-right-left-right". For those high balls a parallel can be risky because there is "less table" for the ball to land. It's closer. Adam played first ball in the deep forehand and 2 balls on the shoulder or body of the opponent as we call it. That's a good tactic as you can catch him off balance but Tahl returned them and then Adam missed.

      @albor06 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess it's something you have to be really comfortable with. I also don't always understand some of Adam's opponents who don't use this opportunity

    • @MrJackJWu
      @MrJackJWu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because you don't know what spin Adam is imparting on the ball. When you hit the ball early, you are basically guessing what spin he put on the ball below the table where you cannot see. What if it is a side spin? What if it is a back spin snake? What if it is a top spin and the ball will kick? By allowing the lob high ball bounce on the table and look at how it bounces up, you can determine the spin better and therefore know at what angle to hit the ball. So, no, most players playing Adam are not stupid. They let the balls bounce and look at the spin and decide how to attack it. When Tahl hits the ball right off the bounce, he basically guessed what spin was on the ball. Don't forget. Adam edited the video. He might have edited out a couple balls that Tahl hits off the bounce and hit it straight into the net because it is a backspin snake.

    • @albor06
      @albor06 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrJackJWu I was not talking about those under the tables snakes. Definitely you have no idea which side he spins each time. We were talking about his normal long distance high defence lobs where you can see exactly how he hits them..

    • @MrJackJWu
      @MrJackJWu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@albor06 Here are my guesses. 1) When Adam lobs, it is not a straight top spin lob. I imagine there is quite a bit of side spin as well. Therefore you still want the lobs to bounce and take its course before you decide how to smash it. 2) this is a match where I don’t know why Adam’s lobs have landed shallowed on the table so Talh can hit it off the bounce and close to the net. In other matches from Adam, most of his lobs land deep on the table so at that point you might as well let the ball bounce and take of the ball on the way down. Again if table tennis allows you to hit the ball off the air like tennis does then yes you might as well take the ball in the air and smash it back.

    This reminds me, you should make a ping pong paddle with a cool logo on it or something thats your own seperate paddle brand and you could maybe get like a snake on it from your snake serve and snake returns and things like that. Or you could just put like Bobrow on it somewhere in a cool font or something, i dont know. Just a suggestion, keep up with the amazing videos!

      The guy seems really unstable mentally. He's like a roller coster of emotions, being unable to control how high and how low he goes. He really gives me the vibe of being bipolar, wich is really odd considering the he published a book about the mental aspect of table tennis and being a social worker.
      Personnaly, I really dislike people like him.

      He had a choice to act the way he did. And he knew his poor attitude would be viewed by millions. Amazing he came off this unhinged. This guy wrote a book on the mental side of table tennis? That’s irony for you.
