As a german I never realized we had a strong table tennis culture. These stone tables are everywhere. In parks, playgrounds, school yards and even in small villages. We played it at school every now and then and I know several people who own a table. I never thought about it before. Really enjoyed your video!
German here as well and I can confirm, that we have alot of these tables around, I might also used them for "Bierpong" one or two times :D
But yea, German table tennis culture is real, just say "Rundlauf" out loud and 10 people will join up and play at once running around the table.
same bei uns in der schule war es normal das wir rundlauf mit 20 oder mehr leuten in jeder pause gespielt haben viele hatten nicht mal nen schläger dann wurde einfach mit der brotbochs oder mit was man auch immer findet gespielt gute alte zeit

i always viewed table tennis as a casual sport cause we have so many of these tables everywhere. In elementary school there would always be at least 15 people playing together and walking around the table

Is smile such a rare thing for you that you have to announce it when it happens once in a blue moon? Why there's even a need to mention it, you could just stick to that you were amused. Smile is natural expression of certain emotions that we communicate about. You don't need to mention the smile itself just like the fart. "Made me smile" stupid af. You never say "food was so good/bad it made me fart", this sounds like the same.

its not only about the street tables, but i can also confidently say that every child in school at least played a couple of games in their life. and there are clubs almost everywhere

Berlin has a lot of public table tennis places, which are very welcoming to new players. So yeah, if you visit a bigger German city, it's likely you will have the chance to play some matches :)

@@timmyla2484 they are the best because it is very popular over there, as i german i would say the table tennis plate was very popular in the school yard but not close to the soccer goal or whatever replaced a goal ;)
I expect in china there will be more plates on the yard, and more people playing maybe even during the athletic lessons.

stefan 10:20 was a real charm. That engagement, that first point. This guy waited for 30 years to finally play table tennis again and he used up the last 20 years on his back. But he was happy and that he won was really cool. Idk but its cute. A tiny collaberation of the universe to make one guys day.

its crazy to see the constrast of adam and general german people. They all just hang around on their free time enjoying these ppl playing table tennis, but he is going full energy on everything. And the best part is that one girl at the beginning matching his energy lol.

I studied in Cologne (law) and played table tennis regularly in the University team… in the 90s… if I knew this, I would have come too! …but yes, as you say, table tennis is such a huge sport here in Germany! I didnt even knew we have such a strong Tabble Tennis culture, but I guess every german atleast played it many times in school or with friends in their free time after school.
Ive only realy went a few times to training and didnt carry on with it, but I still like to watch the sport, also ofc because we have players like Timo Boll or Dimitrij Ovtcharov.
Now that I think about it, we have Tabble Tennis places scatterd everywhere. In parks, schools and playgrounds.

I was thinking it would be nice if you come to Germany and getting a feel for your snake though my table tennis days are way back, haven't watched any of your content for a while. If you ever come to Cologne and like to play table tennis - come to the bar "die Wohngemeinschaft" (translates to "the shared apartment") - basically a bar with a table tennis table inside. Every wednesday the theme is "international melting pot", so ppl from all backgrounds and countries come to talk to each other, learn languages and play table tennis while enjoying a beer! much fun

I wasn't crazy interested in this video and thought I'd just have a quick look at a couple matches taking place at home, but I sure got excited when Rosskopf showed up. I bought my first racket from him some 18 years ago - the Rosskopfs have a shop in Cologne, though back then it used to be in Bonn. Brings back good memories, he seemed like a nice guy back then, still looks it.

Me and a few of the students are fans of your videos and would love for you to come play. OMG, thats so cool. I actually saw that, and was wondering what was going on, but i really liked it, because it seemed like this huge group of people just really enjoyed themselves. I wish i would have stopped to watch or at least rode my bike a couple more rounds around the Lenauplatz, it was AMAZING. I hope you will come back some day:)
Next spring or summer you should come to Munich in Germany. There are there new tabletennis desks by the Eching Sea. A Lot of good players comig there by good weather...
