    glad to see you making videos again, I like the custom fabrication you and your dad do. you ought to look into a shackle reversal kit and flip kit, it would be easy to make for you guys and would give you a taller suspension and better ride.

      you also would be able to delete the track bar so your suspension can actually cycle

      Thanks. And ok I'll have to look into that

      I tried driving without the track bar and I would get the death wobble

      +UpNorthOutdoors yeah it's because of the forward A shackle ford used, because of the toe in on the tires it has a shimmy effect and the weak a shackle allows for the excess movement especially since it's in the front. ford only put a trac bar in to accommodate that design. if you do the shackle reversal it will give you a bigger shackle and it'll be in the back. leaf springs don't work well with track bars but ford needed a bandaid fix

    When you did the d60 swap did you cut your driveshaft or did you get a transfercase yoke to fit the d60 shaft? How did you go about the whole driveshaft issue

    The spindles on that axle don't like the wider rims.

    So you realize that the rear axle on that is the same as the rear on an f350 right?

    Do the spring perches have the same width , center to center as a obs f250?

    • @TheRoadhammer379
      @TheRoadhammer379 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they are the same width perches.

  • @tazaxx21
    @tazaxx21 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's not the axles that make a 1 ton, it's the springs.

    • @jacobheisesr9160
      @jacobheisesr9160 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      tazaxx21 not true you still need strong axles and gear size for full payload support

    • @threize6840
      @threize6840 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Heise sr There's no difference between a 3/4 ton and one ton truck. With the exception of a dually configuration and a little bit of stiffer leafs and front coils. Engine, transmission's gear size, differential gear size, and axle type is all the same. But for the dually configuration the axle is obviously modified at factory to support that, but you can convert a single rear wheel axle to a dually configuration. Trust me, there's pretty much no difference. You have the one ton suspension as an option on the 3/4 ton as well, with overload springs if required.

    Hey I have the same truck and lift. I was wondering if the front of your truck ever leveled out with back. I had to replace the 3" blocks in the rear with 4" just to get close to level. Wondering if u had the same problem Or how I could fix this?

    • @UpNorthOutdoors
      @UpNorthOutdoors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It still never completely leveled out. You could fix it by getting bigger blocks or getting 6 inch springs in the rear

    • @AC-ps6cr
      @AC-ps6cr 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I'm guessing rough country not only made them with stiff inexpensive metal but also made sure that it would hold up the 7.3L and From what I've read it ways a lot more then our 460. So my plan is to take out the 2nd leaf from the bottom and see if that helps not only the Height but also the ride.

    Why wouldn't you just get 4 new U-bolts instead of just 2 lol? You are not supposed to reuse U-bolts that have been torqued. The spring shop my buddy works at learned this the first day he was there.

    Did you have to adapt anything from the 4 inch lift you got originally when you had the TTB front axel to fit the solid front axel?
